The fact that nobody knows that it’s CG and thinks it’s 100% real is just a testament to how good of a job the FX team did and they should be proud of that
I watched the film again just yesterday and knew it had to be CGI because obviously you couldn’t plan where it would land. But it was very well done especially considering it was nearly 30 years ago.
The reason for the chicken head is also amusing, they are stupid, the amount of brain power it takes to read what your eyes see and compensate for all the little imperfections is massive. It is easier for them to just move their head in space. As an easy example, strap your phone to your head and read/record a page off a book. Even if you try to remain still, the camera will shake and the text will be a bit blurry. Your eyes automatically adjust for that shake and this allows you to see the fine details. New cameras in phones attempt to adjust for this by literally allowing the camera to move within the lens to compensate for your shaky hands.
Funniest thing we like to do as tourists is when someone asks you to take a picture of them we snap a selfie real quick then take 2-3 good pictures of them. Love it.
I know a wedding photographer who secretly photoshops in Alan Shearer to photos if you really piss him off. The genius bit? It’s Alan Shearer from the 90’s 🤣
Talking about things being out of sync, if you trip acid everything syncs up some how. It happens to me every time I trip and jam out to some hardstyle like Showtek. Everything around me syncs up to the music
The best CGI stuff is the stuff nobody notices.
It's kind of like how the Joker doesn't want to know who Batman is: if I knew what Brad looked like it'd ruin his appeal lol

the music for Forrest Gump always gets me, now I need to watch it again.
You should put Waldo in the background somewhere in a shot for a wedding, and then tell nobody.

I noticed it, and the best effect is when Lt. Dan moves his nonexistent legs through the coffee table. That blew my mind.
Nah, you need The Watcher at your wedding.
The Dolly Zoom was first used by Sir Alfred Hitchcock in "Vertigo". Steven Spielberg used it again in "Jaws".

you're lying
Alfred Hitchcock made the dolly zoom to show vertigo
I think the dolly zoom was first done in Vertigo. So it's really the Hitchcock shot, not the Spielberg shot.
The best CGI in a movie was the cut Sheep from Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back lmao
Increase your f-stop - the higher it is the deeper the range of focus
Actually, by definition, the best CGI is the one you don't notice
04:02 good old Sheffield
Is nobody gonna mention the angry face after the middle finger?
I saw that as well, made me giggle
She said there’s 25 frames per second, there’s actually 24
