I would love to use this idea for my 6th grade students in the fall! I think vocabulary is important and as you stated should beyond memorization 😊 Also quick question do you do anything with prefixes, suffixes, and root words? If so how do you incorporate this aspect of word study? Thank you again!!
How do you have your students store their vocabulary cards? I was going to use a vocabulary notebook. But I like the idea of cards because it's tangible.
I always liked to put them in a sealable plastic bag and have the kids keep them in their binder. This makes it convenient for them to pull them out and study whenever they have down time.

How do you fit in a word a day when you have multiple lists? I have 3 vocabulary levels, so 3 lists each week.
Try doing 3 words a day instead of 1.
What would be a reasonable amount of time to let students go to complete these on their own? (I teach 6th grade)
I think they could do this on their own after a few weeks.
