Ma'am it's very good to see a non native English speaker presenting like a native speaker.. I love your style of teaching.. keep it up keep enlightening..
thanks for all of your comments ☺👍 yes, I'm a non native English speaker just like all the other non-natives who comprise more than half of the world population. I try hard to teach English to the students who may work with any people from different countries in the future. I guess understanding and being understood will have more importance than the American, English or Canadian pronunciation, then. I am planing to make new educational videos ☺
Hi. i graduated a few months ago with Bachelor of Education in teaching english as second language. with that degree, i am supposed to be teaching teenagers but, where i'm working right now, i have to teach young learners as well. kids as young as 3 years old. so your video helps a lot. i'm also a non-native speaker and i understand what you feel. regarding the comments about non-native just play games in class, ignore that person. i find it very useful to use games to help students master the use of the language. kudos from malaysia!
Setenay Çelik Hello I want to congratulate you for your presentation it was very helpful indeed I'm also a no native English Teacher and I love how you convey your energy that's how a teacher should be in a class room with kids involved don't mind what other people think about your technics keep it up!!! do you have a YT channel? I would love to learn more about your teaching thank you!!
Well actually this is a kind of teaching methodology that has been widely applied in memory training courses. But this is the first time I have seen it used in vocabulary teaching combined with flash cards. Very inspiring for all teachers!
She is so cute! I really admire her humble the way she talk and treat with respect. that's what am I always looking for this kind of skills which can attract me mostly gratitude ,
Congratulations on your presentation!!! I teach Russian and Spanish but I can transfer your aproach to my lessons. Just to let you know, I am still learning English, all my life I was avoiding to learn it because the boring teachers I had. I started to learn English thanked to my Spanish and Polish teachers. They were fantastic like you and made me wish to learn English. I need the language to communicate with others. I will never speak like a native and I don’t mind!! Keep it up!!! Good teachers empower other teachers!!
Congratulations on your presentation!!! I teach Russian and Spanish, but I can transfer your approach to my lessons. Just to let you know, I am still learning English: all my life I have avoided learning it because the teachers I had were boring.*(1)* Thanks to my Spanish and Polish teachers, I started to learn English. They were fantastic like you and made me want to learn English. I need the language to communicate with others. I'll never speak like a native and I don’t mind that!! Keep it up!!! Good teachers empower other teachers!! *(1) Present Perfect as this is an action in the past, namely "avoided learning" with an implication for the present; that you had boring teachers in the past did not inspire you to learn English and therefore need to use your time now to learn English.* Well, I hope that you're using English daily and that you are quite comfortable with the language!
thanks for this useful presentation as an ESL teacher I really appreciate this method . the most fascinating thing about esl teachers is that they're globally willingly cooperative
Most teachers that Can Not Teach English "PLAY" games in most of their ESL classes!! Sure the students "LIKE" the teacher.... but the students actually learn very little English !
This is sweet. But as a former esl teacher, I do feel stupid half of the time because I know I didn’t learn thru being silly. I learned thru digging deep in my curiosity of stuff. I was so into space as a kid, then I was into music and celebrities as a teenager, and now I’m into sci fi as an adult. I learn thru these things because resources in my language were minimal. So I read English book and watched documentaries. Now I am a teacher at a Montessori school and I teach extra class to one kid...the class is to help her improve her English but learning the language technically isn’t our focus. I teach her about snakes and tornadoes bc those are what interests her now. We expand her vocabulary by learning parts of the snake, species of snakes, how tornadoes form, etc. She’s loving it and it’s so easy for me to prepare our daily lessons because I am guiding a child thru her curiosity. We cook on the side too! We also play outside, and we talk about our daily life.
Hello Setenay, I'm zain from Pakistan, it's amazing your presentation and the technic you told for teaching young kids, I also believe that the kids only do and like to do what they enjoy, myself from my childhood I always had trouble in understanding, memorising and reading English our education system over here is pretty messed up student face lot of problems and I'm really concern about it, over here they don't even have a reading class in any school in this country I want to start a different education program here to help the students which can be useful for them and easy for their understanding but the problem is I quit don't have lot of experience init you can be useful for us me and my team if there is any possible way you could help me or guide me with it I'll be really grateful to you, although we Pakistani have a deep respect for you Turkish people
Not only must spatial learners move during learning to retain the information, but every study done by the University of Washington has shown a marked improvement in all learners if the first 2 minutes of class involve some sort of exercise. You have to stimulate blood flow to the areas of the brain detailed here, before the neuron connections will work. And eat breakfast and lunch! A car won’t go without gasoline; no one can learn on an empty stomach. Feed your brain to learn. Please post more! We were all taught this in 2014-2015 at Concordia University, and it’s still not widely available to teachers yet.
Thank you very much for your video. That's exactly how I remember pictures. I put them in to some kind of story. It works every time. The same goes for knowing how to get from place to place.
Though you are very young and have only 4 years of teaching, I really loved your presentation. It was funny, relevant, meaningful and very interesting. Congratulations. I understood perfectly your accent and pronunciation. Keep on going. I just see it for the first time. I will look for more videos from you.
Thanks very much our teacher from Turkey, indeed ur doing a great job to people in different parts of the world, the video is educative and entertaining. When u start teaching its as we want to listen from you for the whole day. U have a magical way how u make us forcus on what ur delivering . God bless.
I have studied about how to remember information. And this is a way, creating a story for word, to memorize vocabulary for long-term. This very nice example of applying this method to English Class, Good Job!!!!
+Yassine Ben That's why a good rule of thumb is not to ask them to do anything you are not comfortable doing. The teacher "sells" the idea and if you don't you will be the butt of the joke. Of course the video is talking about young learners.
Great presentation! I have learned a lot of things that I am going to apply in my classroom. I want to tell people who gave you bad reviews, that you're brave and more intelligent than people who speak only one language and it's impossible for them to learn another language. If some of them are teachers and they don't respect diversity, they are losers and they will never be successful in any career. Racism, unfairness, and inequality still exist because of these people.
Setenay Çelik Bu kadar tatlı olduğun inanılmaz. Aslında Şu anda her iki dili de öğreniyorum. Türkçe ve İngilizce Seni sevdim, seni sevdim Seni gerçekten sevdim. Waiting for everything new. Good luck
Obviously this is a presentation for TEACHERS, and the aim are young lerners, kids. If you're not a teacher and don't understand didatics, just make way for the professionals that work and study hard everyday to give your kids alternative and more effective ways of learning.

Good Warm up to start class . Make people learn vocabulary ....so that they will not forget the thing ....Nice you teach another thing but i got something fantastic.👍
Honestly I didn't like the dance you did at the beginning but the idea that you are trying to do is just great. Actually the most important thing that you emphasize is the action during the class and I pay attention to do in my classes as well, Bec only grammer teaching is terribly boring. So I engage my students only when I make them play games. and it is very affective way for learning. Thanks the video!
These r ice breaking session. It opens the mind of any attainees in participation. It gives more opportunity to understand and become child like attitude which gvs them the mind to learn and have fun.
So interesting, l like all the ideas you mentioned in this video, especially the stage of personalising. I think l'm going to try it with my students. I'm from Morocco and l teach teenagers

So sad... I was taught to teach like you, but in Costa Rica, if we teach for the Public Ministry of Education we are almost "executed" by the very lazy students we frequently have in specific types of High Schools. Right now I am dealing with big problems just because students elder than 18 y.o. do as negative things as writing down letters asking for me to be fired just because I ask them to respect me, respect their classmates, and stop disturbing the class. They say I make them feel "humiliated and attacked" I know the problem is them, and not me. The problem for now is that in a few days I will have to prove that they are lying.
