  • This works for the vintage toys from Kenner. X-wings, tie fighters, snow speeders, Millenium Falcon, etc...
    I've had a lot of requests to finish this video. Like, subscribe and share to get this info out there. This is the kind of stuff that some collectors don't want you to know.

    Well done! I was able to free up the motor to a 1979 Imperial Troop Transporter with these same steps. Now on to my Falcon, Snow Speeder, X-Wing..... :)

    Great video, well explained and informative... just one thing, @7:30 its not an engine, its a motor. Engines use expendable fuels, (car engine, Jet engine, steam engine, rocket engine, etc) to drive them and motors use electricity to drive them. i.e electric motor. Anyway, nice video though, thanks for sharing...

    Awesome video. I been looking at buying a vintage sandcrawler and from time to time I see description “Not Working” This May be a way for me to pick one up at a reduced price! I’ve never dealt much with these small motors but they should be cheap to replace if they can’t be fixed but I love the idea of breathing new life in the old original parts.
    Have you considered liquid silicone as a lubricant? I use to use WD-40 on everything but it has very little lubricity and really isn’t good for a lubricant in my opinion. Grease would be good choice but May impede the performance of these tiny motors.
    Love the shirt! I have that same one!

      I think the silicon lubricant may impede with the connectors. But I haven't tried that.

    have you tried an ultrasonic cleaner? I have seen them do amazing things.

    Hey Bruce! Love the channel - question for you. I'm fixing my first vintage X-Wing. I had to take the electronics out completely. What are the connectors called at the back of the X Wing - the ones that connect it to the plastic itself. It was so corroded I had to remove it completely and now need to replace it. I need to know what the "pins" are called that are actually in the little holes of the plastic. Thanks for any help!

      PS - I did get the motor working though, thanks to your videos! I just need to connect it back to the X Wing.

      @@mattkoller500 I used pop rivets that I got from Walmart. There is another video of me restoring an xwing in my channel I think it shows you.. I didn't remember if I posted that or not.

    You use a 9V Battery for the Test? Is that not to much Power and damaged the Motor?? The SW-Toys are only powerd with 3V, 2x1,5V batteries i think.

    So what is a good replacement motor if the motor if shot? Say the motor in the vintage star wars imperial troop transport or the kenner knight 2000 voice car?

    • @jennercustomtoys
      @jennercustomtoys  2 года назад +1

      Nobody makes them new. You might have to buy another toy and cannibalize the parts you need.

      Try reversing the batteries. If it still doesn't work you probably have a bad bulb.

      @@wgh777 Thanks. I decided to take the entire At At apart to clean it. Toothbrush and soapy water brought it back to life. Saved all the stickers that flacked off. Works fine now.
