Hi sensei. Honestly speaking, will it enhance your teaching skills or not?

Will the JET Programme enhance your teaching skills? Definitely, it will. In one way or another, you will gain insights, you will have various experiences teaching different levels of students and co-teaching with several teachers with different teaching styles.

I can relate this same situation when teaching in Thailand, parang minsan nakakatanga ung feeling na wala kaung alam kung anu nangyayari yet u still have to go with the flow and smile. Ahahahhahah

Di ba? Dito madalas din ang emergency drills. Nagtatakbuhan na lahat papuntang open grounds. Ako nasa staff room. Hindi man lang sinasabihan na may ganap pala.

Joey-sensei. Any tips on how to deal with being left out/being an uninformed ALT? In your experience, do you recommend ALTs to be proactive about getting themselves informed or does that act seem to be nosey or something (disrespectful perhaps idk)?

Yes, i do recommend being proactive. Always check the bulletin boards behind the vice principal's desk. The activities or events for the day and the following day are written there. Also, there is a monthly schedule being distributed to all members of the staff. If you don't get any, usually there is also a board intended for the monthly schedule somewhere in the staff room. If you don't understand what's written, ask your VP or JTE. Google translate also works often for me. 😀
