- This new charging station by Rove Charging opens on October 15th and it might just be the best EV charging station in the entire US. It includes 28 SuperChargers with MagicDocks and 12 other DCFC stalls. In addition it has some great features like a lounge, premium convenience store, a car wash, and more! It will be staffed 24/7 with security and has EV charging managers during the day.

I love your comment about EV newbies. I’ve owned my Cadillac Lyriq for four months here in Vegas. When GM cars were opened up at Tesla Superchargers, I wanted to try it out. My first try wasn’t working, so I tried a second time. Just as it started to work, a Tesla owner was walking over to try and help me. Very nice guy. He hadn’t experienced a Lyriq before, so I let him sit in the passenger seat while he checked it out. Experienced EV owners can be very nice and helpful. I love your Vlog, it has been very helpful to this newbie! Thank you. BTW…I’ve named my Lyriq “EVita”.

Man, I want so badly to see these in more places! It doesn’t make sense right now to build these outside of big cities with high EV adoption rates, but their time is coming!
EV charging is a tremendous retail opportunity and I’m not sure how many retailers understand that yet. People won’t be staying here all day, but potential up to an hour, and that’s great “dwell time” for a captive audience.

I was thinking I would probably never make it to that stop as cool as it is until you mentioned how close to Disney it is. Now I'm sure I'm going to see it the next time we make a Disney drive!

this is definitely what we wanted to see, instead of a shady/awkward charging spot behind walmart or target, etc, this kind of space would help community have more businesses grow and make it fun, safer, charging environment... we need more companies do this and have variety of charging stations from different companies rather than... depend on what Tesla or EA have.
Companies big or small need to partner up have these kind of amenities that will GREATLY impact the experience having an EV.
Though 95% of the time I charge at home, its nice to see this

Suh-weeeeet! Let's hope more charging sites like this will spread out across the country! I only wish Rove had made all the CCS1 units 350kW, but… it's true that many EVs couldn't handle that much power anyway. Nice ADA spots! Moxie would appreciate the pup pad!

Really a good design for urban areas. Would love to see how they would design one for road tripping along the interstates. Would be great to see some of these down in San Diego. Great video!
Those solar panels not unless supplement the grid using commercial grade inverters to help charge the EV's, but also charge commercial size battery packs which are then used to charge the EV's. People have to stop thinking about solar being only the ones on their rooftops.
Looks like an excellent spot to recharge human and machine, thanks for the early tour! Glad they had you both on hand to add EV driver requests...sites/networks are always better when drivers are involved.
That lounge looks way too small for a 64-stall charging site. At peak hours, it will fill up, making it difficult to find seating, and it’ll get noisy and dirty and have lines to use the restroom. The chairs look like cheap plastic that will break under heavy load, especially if someone tries to recline on them, which they will.
It also looks like they don’t have a very good setup to queue for the chargers, but it’s fantastic that they’ll have dedicated staff to help deal with that.
That said, this is it. This is what all EV drivers want in a charging site. Kudos to them, and hopefully they open a site on the East Coast soon.
It's a 40 stall. I think the flow of things will likely be really smooth since everyone will not be in the same step in the process at the same time. Some people will be using the restroom, some in the lounge, some at the counter in the lounge or at the counter in the convenience store section eating. Some at the car wash, or puppy pad, or at their car. I'm really excited to see it all in action and I think they've thought it through really well! Looks really nice. Most important to me is that they have so many stalls.
This is great and it needs to go nationwide. You pretty much have to look to Europe to see facilities like this. There are some that come close to this in the US but not on this level. I honestly believe ALL gas stations and even some local diners and other eateries and strip malls are completely missing out on this financial boom that is taking place.
Tesla is building their own diner but if any of you are familiar with Silver Diner or Johnny Rockets, I truly believe Tesla and companies like Rove could partner up with these restaurants and offer food while customers charge. It would pay for itself.
Imagine is large grocery chains did what Rome is doing and setup kiosk or mini locations like this? They could expand their brand and attract new and more customers.
Thank you for a great overview of this awesome charging site. I believe the air hoses on the vacuums are just for blasting air to help vacuum your car (blast out crevices or debris in carpets), not for filling tires.
Those Vacuum brand DC fast chargers look really nice. Cable looks super flexible! :D

Thanks so much for pointing out the accessible dispensers. Most of the DCFC sites I have visited have none. And as you point out, some may have an ADA spec PARKING space, but it is NOT an accessible CHARGING space (as defined by the Access board).
This is phantastic! That's how charging stations should be made. I won't be back in California for a while but I'll stop by as soon as I can
That ADA charging access looks pretty great! Majority of the time I have a difficult time and can’t always charge if I’m alone as the spacing around the pedestals are problematic.
This is a great set up for EV charging..I just hope the Gelsons vendor keeps prices reasonable...
we travel to buena park from southern utah about once a month in our Mach-E so we can't wait to try out this charging station!

I love Sriracha Sauce as well. As I mentioned in person today, The Network Architect Channel's North American DCFC Weekly Update #32 video mentions this video when he talks about the Rove station at 4:49. I hope Rove and other DCFC providers provide more stations like this.

@@MachE_VLOG I think you guys are doing great the ADA reviews is definitely something I enjoy... I primarily use crutches but sometimes use a prosthesis or wheel chair... I not sure what to add that helps but I love the perspective I also watch @ArkansasEV for similar reasons it helps me know what to expect when I go to a charger ... I love the videos!!!

L & P - I either fainted, or possibly died and went to heaven. . .OMG! ROVE just NAILED IT, eh? Everything thought-through, learning from previous efforts. This is perfect for high-traffic areas, and is certain to make excellent ROI. Also, I got a roll-in YT from Kyle on their recent install of their XCharge NZS 200kWh Battery-Integrated Unit at the Out of Spec Offices. THIS IS PERFECT FOR RURAL areas or low-traffic areas. Opportunities are knocking loudly, everywhere!

Their Long Beach location is gonna be challenging, as there are a lot of homeless people with mental illness and drug addiction issues that hang out on that very two block stretch. (My mother lives 1/2 mile from there and I’ve driven by it several times per week for the last 30 years)
So excited to see this open. I’m hoping to make it to the grand opening in person, or maybe the SoCalEvs preview next week. It looks like it’s just as nice in person as the 3d renders promised it would be. Definitely looks like a nice spot for a small meetup but I hope there are enough spots for cars that aren’t currently charging. Did they say anything about pricing/kwh?

@MachE_VLOG Near the end you say "all EVs" but I didn't hear any mention of J1772 units.
Someone driving a Ford Fusion Energi, or other PHEV, would find it nice to be able to get a bite to eat & to shop since they are going to likely be using it for at least 15 minutes. More likely an hour or two.

Do you have a different camera or something? The intro looks like you're standing in front of a green screen and the background is a still picture. Don't let Bjorn know being ABB hardware he has a name for those, 'Always Be Broken'. Kind of like a US version of the Gridserve charging stations in the UK. Not that I need to watch my car charge to be honest, but nice for those that want to. Pull-thru's would be good though for those towing even if it's only a couple of bays.

How close is this location to highways & etc.? Is this site designed as an urban charging center or for more recharging during a road trip?
@@StubbyStan28 It's right off I-5, but it is in the heart of Orange County so I'm guessing a lot of locals will use it.
Probably very difficult and political but would love to see more ev chargers at the standard right off major highway rest areas. At least on the east coast when doing trips it seems you still have to go in town a decent ways.
Let's hope this is just the beginning. This is now the 2nd charging stop I've seen like this (the EA indoor site in SF was the other) and really hope it continues. In Ontario the government installed DCFC dispensers at the ONroute rest stops which could easily be this good, but they have been notoriously unreliable - I'm convinced they bought the same early hardware EA did as they suck. Hopefully they see this 🙂

Santa Ana California. Very close to Disneyland just down the 5 Fwy about 5 miles. They have an app, Rove Charging. They are opening more sites and all are near freeways here in Southern California. ✅
The restroom and lounge area need to be closed between 11pm and 7am. Otherwise, tons of homeless people and drug addicts will camp there.
These are chargers not universal? I can use a Tesla charger for my Rivan.
