@@spudsbuchlaw I agree. I would use the word "mediocre" which still begs the question, why would anyone want to play a mediocre game when so many sincerely good ones to choose from.
@@grumpyoldgrognard9561 why would you say its mediocre? Many people dont see it that way, so to think that, it likely means you have a very different standard for your TTRPGs, no?
Adding S&W elements into 5e games could be a good part of a gradual process to introduce S&W to 5e players who might otherwise have trepidation about joining an old school campaign.
I hacked 5e to have custom classes, custom cantrip and spell lists, and classic HD for HP to really deliver that OSR feel. Much better than the vanilla experience. There are also some things I like in DCC. Basically, my version of 5e is a mix of different D&D OSR experiences put together, and my players are enjoying it so far.
I use a few 5E elements in my S&W solo game !
Great video, great advice

Why would ANYONE want to play 5e?
A lot of people like 5e. It's not a bad system. It has its flaws, and if it doesnt appeal to you that's fine but that doesnt mean it's bad

Why not just play Swords & Wizardry? 5E is just plain awful.
