I’ve done every climb portal route released so far until this month’s climb the col de la couillole…I just can’t seem to find the motivation to slog up these long climbs, there’s no in game reward for doing it. If you got badges or something it would be more motivating but they don’t even show as completed routes.
I am disappointed they haven’t provided more realistic rendering for the portal climbs, for example like the virtual scenery used in the now defunct RGT on its “magic roads”. Surely Zwift could improve on that. The color bands are okay for short climbs but they’re not immersive.
Thanks for the update recap! I am still really hoping we will see the climb portal tech reused for "magic roads" inspired by real routes or segments some day inspired by the tours. I am not a climbs guy but some fresh simulated roads could be fun. Or some fake roads that represent a workout would be equally interesting. I think they could really run with both and brand and theme them appropriately.
Cool they do these themed events but really when wil lthey do a update for those climb portal graphics😢. They make me feel sick

Amazing video like always. Do you know if the portal is on say July 2nd and next one is on July 10th (only example) .. Is the portal only avail on that 1 day or all days from July 2nd to the 9th.then next new one hits? Thanks

Wouldn't it be great if Zwift partnered with a "real" TDF rider, polka dot jersey contender🙏, and were able to take their real-world metrics on each climb and plug them into a robo-pacer so you could test yourself against a pro, and actually see just how hard these guys go up these climbs?🤔
There are Strava segments for many of the climbs and many pros have listed their times on those segments. So you can look them up and get a very good sense of how you rank compared to a pro. You wouldn’t see them for very long in-game.

Wahoo still working out how to hide that the race mode 10hz and other stuff they said needed £79 Direct Connect (and a PITA ethernet set up) could have been done through Bluetooth....
Why not just ride.on rouvey it has all the climgs and more and you can do it any time any where not wait for zwift to do it

I can't wait for the new UI/Hud. The current one is really annoying and is in need of a major refresh.
Seems these updates have been made to make me regret pausing my zwift subscription over the summer 😂. Butin reality, it's currently 29c in my Wattage Cottage as I post this! Too hot for indoor cycling, especially the climb portal.
Maybe I am missing something but why doesn't Zwift show the climb profile for the climbing portal while you are deciding what to ride? Any route that you click on will show a route profile but when you look at the climb portal I do not see the profile of the climb, just the lead in distance and the overall distance along with the avg grade.
They’ve teased something like ClimbPro in-game. Yet to see this land.

As I said to someone yesterday, if you want a cycling channel to completely lose your shit over how they pronounce things, I have a few in mind you should check out.
All I want is to hide HR in workouts and races.
Unpairing your HRM might work. Zwift pairing is per-activity.
It's shite that Trainer Difficulty is still just a basic slider with no actual 1-100 range... Their whole HUD is so piss poor it's laughable....
So no new HUD still?

I’m glad they’re fixing the issue with PR data on the climb portal overlaying and hiding average power on a segment. Just in time for the Tourmalet being back on the schedule. I like using the portal climbs for intervals, and it really only works if I can see my average power on the segment

It’s a shame that Zwift, an official partner of the TDF, couldn’t put a yellow TDF maillot jaune together for those who complete it. That would be a bit more compelling than what they’re offering.
Zwift isn't an official partner of the regular TDF, they're a title sponsor of TDF femmes, which is in august.

I find Zwift’s Tour de France jersey ugly, and therefore un-wearable.
I have no motivation to get into these ugly climbs, which feature graphs painted with highlighter pen colours. This is pretty lazy work from Zwift.
