      100% Fully agree with Chaaaaz. I'd rather die in a shorter life rather than suffer the abject lack of dignity and emasculation by something like this. When will the medical profession stop pretending this is ok? That this is the way forward? It is ok to prefer death as opposed to certain things in life. Quit "helping". And women have no place in this end of the medical business. Have they no idea how hard it is for a man to talk about this sort of thing?
      This is why men don't even bother with medical appointments. Its like she has never met a man. Let completely alone talking to a woman about things she cant understand? And especially someone who will never even remotely be able to process how a man feels? No thanks. Next.

    I got ED from a pelvic fracture urethral injury due to a motorcycle accident. Atrophy and mild Peyronies started to set in shortly after. Taking 5mg of cialis, traction, using a pump and injections together have worked wonders for keeping the old fella healthy while I patiently wait for the nerves to repair 🤞🏻

      Hi Freddy, please know you are not alone in figuring out such a challenging situation. In case it helps at any point, or is a new approach to try, there are free support groups online and in person: (www.atouchysubject.com/blog/online-support-groups-prostate-cancer) where people who are also going through life with prostate cancer go to share their stories and seek community understanding and wisdom.
      In particular, we've heard good things about the [Sex Love and Prostate Cancer Facebook Group facebook.com/groups/sexloveandprostatecancer
      It can sometimes also help to hear how other men are managing life in a similar situation via this podcast: trshealth.com.au/how-to-listen-to-the-penis-project-podcast/
      You've mentioned that you are severely depressed, so we also want to let you know that calling Lifeline is always there for those particularly dark moments. The number is 13 11 14 and it's open 24 hours.

      You need to do pelvic floor exercises everyday as well as a penis pump at least 5 times a week. You goal is the get the D back to normal. It can take time …. Too long for some but in the end it is worth it. I had robotic prostate surgery in 2020 as well as radiation for positive margins. I would like to be spontaneous but we can’t have everything. I use the Osbon pump as well as the rings.My goal is a PSA of 0.01 non detectable. I hold my breath every six months. I am a cancer survivor. Pelvic exercises can add life back into your penis. nocturnal Erections are not what you were used to but you’d get at least some action. It takes Time and commitment to achieve this. If you are older, (I am 77)you lose collagen in your skin. I take Your Theory collagen with Biotin to help with elasticity of my penis and balls. I have been using the pump 2 weeks after the removal of my catheter and doing kegels about 6 week before surgery.

      You will initially lose about a half an inch, due to the shortening of the urethra, where the prostate was. In addition, you will no longer have nocturnal erections, so it is not getting any exercise. The vacuum pump will stretch it back out, which increases blood flow and oxygen for better healing, and gets the length back. It only takes about ten minutes a day.

    The “spacer” your looking for is a Penile implant. I also think you are vastly exaggerating the ability of most men who are not young and who have had other than perfect surgical treatments to recover natural erections. The true total recovery percentage is closer to 5%. But the overall message you send about early, continuous treatment is correct. You should include a discussion about implants. For most men this “fixes” length n girth in place at the start. AND heavens yes, measured this thing before u start. It will be the “fish that got away “
    Otherwise.

    Great video and no-nonsense approach. Is it true to say the penis is made of smooth muscle, though?

    • @ATouchySubject
      @ATouchySubject  Год назад

      Hi Henry, you're quite right, it's a lot more complicated than that! The penis is indeed made up of smooth muscle, but skeletal muscle comes into play too. It would be fun to interview an anatomy expert about this. Perhaps a future video idea...

    • @henryandrews2011
      @henryandrews2011 Год назад +1

      @@ATouchySubject I don't agree. Most sources refer to the corpora cavernosa and spongiosum as being made of "erectile tissue" not smooth muscle. So I wouldn't say the penis is made of smooth muscle, as such. The pelvic floor is skeletal muscle.

    I had a radical prostatectomy 4-5 years ago and lost the ability to get an erection. I use Trimix for that but I also lost some length. What pump do you recommend or would any pump work. Also I’ve heard that a pump won’t increase length at all but may help with the erection part.

      Why would you be asking a woman something like this when there are so many credible sources who actually know and fully understand this issue. It's like asking a man how he would feel after a hysterectomy. Useless and silly.

  • @user-vw7qe1cf9x
    @user-vw7qe1cf9x 4 месяца назад +1

    no, your penis is not a muscle. And no thanks. I will live with what God gave me rather than suffer the indignity and emasculation of a procedure like this. If I have issues like this after 70, then I'll happily die with it rather than not feeling like a man. I see how my 81-year-old father has been dealing with a pee bag for the past 7 years and I want no part of that. I think it was good for me to see what he is going through as it solidified it in my mind that I will NEVER go through that BS. Why is it always some woman telling men how this should be dealt with. Someone who could never in 1,000 years even have an inkling of what its like.

    I would like to believe your comments that someone can come back from shrinkage a year or two later after RP. My penis used to be before surgery - erect 7" and now it is less than 4" with a penile implant. It is so short that I cannot even that I cannot have sex anymore. Simply put it cannot reach let alone move in and out. Whether or not you agree with my before surgery length I used to have very satisfying sex. Even if I could have sex, my penis has little sensitive, no ejaculations, no natural erections, and as I explained too short for sex. The only thing my penis does now is pee. Even that operation is controlled by an implant. Maybe I am missing the silver lining to a very very dark cloud.

    Hello. Thank you for your expertise and
    knowledge on penile rehabilitation.
    It’s obviously an important and sensitive issue for men. I’ve had incredible
    success in my rehabilitation that my
    penis is a lot longer and thicker than ever
    before. It now hangs much lower and heavier at a flaccid state. And when fully
    erect it’s massive. I incorporated hydro
    pumping; of course water and pump combined. Plus getting it professionally massaged several times a week.
