Adam, that neighborhood that you said was nice is actually all empty houses owned by Disney. They're empty 90% of the time but Disney has people staying there from time to time. They own that whole chunk of Keystone with the exception of one house. That's why it's so nice and quiet.
"Rowan and Martin's Laugh In" had a running joke about beautiful downtown Burbank. It's nice to see it in person. Oh and fun fact: Debbie Reynolds (Princess Leia's mother) was voted Miss Burbank when she was 16.
Samantha the goose was in Friendly Persuation, Francis was the famous talking mule and Pyeswacket starred in Bell, Book and Candle as the witch’s cat! All were huge movies in the 1950-1960s! Samantha was Dorothy mcguire’s pet during the Civil War s Gary Cooper played her husband- they were as peace lovingindifamily who got caught up in the Civil War. Union soldiers tried to catch the goose and eat her! The song from the movie “Friendly Persuasion” was a huge hit!
10:48 You are on Keystone Street. I've worked there, and Disney owns every single house on that street, and if you see a car in a driveway, it's a VIP guest for Disney executives being offered to stay there instead of a hotel. Fully furnished house.
So nice to see Burbank California I was born and raised in California I am now a Texan but I lived in California 30 years my father and my husband worked for the City of Burbank so many fun things have changed in Burbank graduated from Burroughs High School thank you for taking me back in time
Adam I look forward to you saying -pipping hot coffee. I say it myself, keep saying it my friend . Your so much fun to watch..I visit celebration when I’m in Florida , will be moving there in the near future. Peace an be safe. Hoping meeting you in near future.
It's great seeing you in Southern California again, Adam! We miss you here...there's still SO MUCH stuff that would make great video content!! Great video today...Rossco Soletrane's great too!!!
I love Burbank..very quaint and close to everything Hollywood at the same time. That’s one of my favorite Donut Shops as well. I adopted my brindled black white chested chihuahua mix at the Burbank Animal Shelter where the animal footprints were shown. She was either mixed with a Jack Russell or Boston Terrier. She was a 15 lbs. chihuahua and had the same personality as Jordan’s dog “the Jahster”. Sadly, she passed away in December of 2019. In memory of Candiss, thanks for showing the famous footprints of our past “animal companions”.
Ok, now you have me crying! I was born and raised in Burbank and now have been living in Australia for four years. My daughter is named Magnolia after Magnolia Park 🥰
Francis the mule was associated with actor, dancer, singer Donald O’Connor in the 50’s. They made several movies. He was like a talking mule…..before Mr Ed, the talking horse in the 60’s.
All those nice houses along the back road of Disney Studios are owned by Disney, they are used for filming. If you notice each one has a little sign stating "Monitored by Cameras". Also this is your best video in years. Totally has the old school feel of your original unedited daily woo's.
I learned about Burbank years ago because it was the home town of Randy Rhoads, the late and great guitarist who co-wrote songs such as Crazy Train with Ozzy Osbourne. Maybe someday I will visit there.
All of the signs of the old planes in Burbank, including the Empire Center are on the land that used to be Lockheed. They moved to Georgia in the early 90’s, kind of depressing part of the local economy.
My Grandpa worked for LOCKHEED for 50 years. We lived a block from Glendale Blvd. I haven't been back since 82. We moved to Oregon when he retired in 1969.We had the Lawrence Welk band members live on our street, & the Harlem Globetrotters manager. ;)
***Fun Facts*** Roy Disney had a sailboat in Marina Del Rey named after Pyewacket. In the Hollywood film Bell, Book and Candle (1958) Pyewacket is the name of the brown sealpoint Siamese cat/familiar of Gillian Holroyd, a witch played by Kim Novak. Roy E. Disney donated his record-breaking 86-foot yacht, Pyewacket, to Orange Coast College and its sailing school following the 2005 Transpacific Yacht Race. Carson donated the backdrop from the set of the Tonight Show. You can visit it in the Owl Bar inside the Magic Castle bar. Carson was an important figure supporting magicians his whole career. Arnold Schwarzenegger is Austrian not German. Different country with very different accents. The song you murdered outside donut prince was from The Spin Doctors.
Pyewacket is from the Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon film, BELL, BOOK & CANDLE. The goose, Samantha, is from FRIENDLY PERSUASION with Gary Cooper. Francis the Mule is from FRANCIS and FRANCIS THE TALKING MULE series of flicks. Spike the Dog is best remembered for his leading role in OLD YELLER. Rhubarb is from a Ray Milan film. The lion, Jackie, is the mascot for MGM (Leo being a stage name, I believe). Sam the Dog was in HONDO.
I agree 100% that Johnny Carson is the king of late night and David Letterman would be the prince, i remember when i was age 3-5 I wouldn’t go to sleep till i heard “Here’s Johnny!!!” Back in his last few years before he retired
The woo in Hollywood that’s how I got introduced to the woo his videos back in the day in Hollywood this was a great video a lot of humor and good vibes 😎
What a great day to get out and see some sights and hear some sounds and Burbank is always a fun place but what made this day special was the fact that you showed so many places that I’ve never seen like the Johnny Carson plaque and the Dog eatery but what I really enjoyed was just being able to explore that area through your eyes and I could literally spend all day exploring and documenting what ever it was that I found interesting thank again Adam for this great day now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you also please be safe out there peace ☮️ out ✌️
I actually thought of Adam today while I was in the convenience store earlier today. I saw in a previous video that he likes the Whatchamacallit candy bar. I saw a new candy bar in that product line called Whozeewhatzit. Very similar product and tasty to boot!
Adam-when you were at Idle Hour it used to be the La Cana bar which was used in Lethal Weapon 4 movie. The intersection of Lankershim, Vineland, and Camarillo was used in the movie Paparazzi starring Cole Hauser, a descendant of the Warner Bros. Family. You also missed out on going to the intersections of Magnolia and Lankershim that was used in the movie Erin Brockovitch where Julia Roberts gets into a car accident in the beginning of the film. Lankershim is used on the show The Rookie with Nathan Fillion. The Emmy’s headquarters are also located at Lankershim and Magnolia. They have a huge Emmy Statue there as well. Circus Liquor was used in the film “Grilled” starring Ray Romano and Kevin James as well as an apartment on Huston and Riverton. Huston is pronounced like the city of Houston, Texas. LaLaLand used a building that is on Magnolia near Clybourn, which is the street border that separates North Hollywood from Burbank. This location was also used in the movie Accepted with Justin Long and Lewis Black. -I’m somebody who lives in this neighborhood who can give you more pointers on other movie locations in this area. Hollywood loves to film here because of its convenience to the 3 major studios in the area-Universal, Warner Bros., and Disney.
Thank you for the seat of the pants, on the fly, beautiful downtown Burbank (and North H town) trip! Roscoe sure is a fun dude - brings out the goofy in you, Woo. MoRe SoOn PLeAsE!! Francis the Talking Mule was in short movies/vignettes like The Three Stooges & later a TV show. Spike the dog was the real name of Old Yeller.
This may be one of my favorite videos as I am from North Hollywood and was born and lived in Burbank. Love the Circus Liquor segment, wish it were nighttime so we could see the sign lit up!
OMG.... I cannot tell you how many times I walk down that alley. I used to live on Cleon Street two blocks away from the Circus Liquor Store. I lived in that area till 1974 when I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. When we were kids we would always go to the Circus Liquor Store and buy candy and soft drinks. What memories.. That is so cool you were in my old stomping grounds when I was a kid. Love your videos. Stay Safe
I was actually surprised you’re spending so much time in CA on this road trip. Was expecting you to travel to other states, like MI, MN, IL, IN, OH, PA, NJ, etc… Even heading to NY to check out the Baseball Hall of Fame.
I was getting dinner ready in the other room and I heard you say "Valley Girl" !! That has only served to remind me to ask you again if you would please please consider doing a vlog of VG locations? It's a movie...from the 80's..filmed in SoCal...You and Daphne watch it again some night and then make a plan. It'll be a blast.
I loved seeing Circus Liquor!!! My grandparents lived one block over & one block back (on Craner) from Circus Liquor for 52 years. Great memories. 👍😊❤️
Adam thank you so much for visiting Burbank I cried when you want to donut Prince I lived in Burbank all my life in till 2010. But that place hold so many Memories are used to go to the high school that was literally like 100 feet from that outlet/store area. This vlog is amazing!! Thank you !!
So the planes/signs near the Empire Center actually represents what the Empire Center used to be back during the wars. Burbank, but more specifically, the location of that Empire Center was an aircraft military base actually, which would be covered by a giant tarp with fake houses on it to trick foreign fighter jets to think that the location was just a residential area, instead of a military aircraft base. So that is why near West Coast Customs, all the signs have old style planes on them, it ties it back to the history of Burbank. I’ve grown up here my entire life, very beautiful city!
It was actually the Lochkheed aircraft factory, not just a base, and the aircraft on the signs are all Lockheed products that were built there or at other facilities in Burbank. Another cool detail of the way it was covered up during WWII is that they brought in movie set designers to help them design the fake hills and suburb on top of the factory, and they also did something similar not far away at the old Grand Central Airport in Glendale. (Which is mostly gone, but the main building still exists and is owned by Disney now.)
Spike the Dog 1958 most famous for the movie OLD YELLER I WAS 6 YEARS OLD WHEN I SAW THIS MOVIE ALSO WITH FESS PARKER. thanks for reminding me of great childhood memory. From the shore of the sleeping giant.
Conan is the absolute Prince of Late Night for me, but I do know the King of Late Night was a personal fan of David Letterman, as Johnny used to occasionally send David jokes that would end up in his opening monologues. I kind of wish I could go back and try to guess which ones were Johnny's but it'd be much easier if Letterman would just reveal which ones they were. Ahh it's SO crazy seeing Adam in my neck of the woods. Burbank is the best place to call home for me. And yes that Hand Car wash used to be twice as tall -- til they were forced by a few persnickety residents to chop off the arm.
I really liked David Letterman and Jay Leno my opinion Conan was definitely the funniest and wittiest of the late-night hosts he was my favorite and I watched all of them their entire career from the start except Jimmy Kimble who I never was a fan of when he came along and I can't stand him now but the worst one is Stephen Colbert he's not even a late show host he's nothing but a a propagandist Non-Stop so are the other ones especially Jimmy Kimble
I agree . . . Carson was King. Leno and Letterman were both good. I can't really say one is better than the other. It's like comparing a Mustang with a Camaro. They both entertain and are both very popular.
Mr Adam.....one of the canines mentioned in the walk of fame was 'Wildfire'. This dog was a bull terrier who starred in the movie 'its a dogs life'. As told thru the life of the dog, narrated by man's voice who sounded alot like the great Frank Sinatra. Although it wasn't. Great Great movie. I highly recommend it.
Francis the talking mule played in 7 movies from 1950 till 1956. Look them up and watch them. They're the greatest funniest movies. You will have a great time for sure watching them... Many years back I was going through a very rough time in my life and depression was hitting me hard. Those Francis the talking mule movies alone with a few other movies like them really helped me through.... The bible says that laughter is good medicine....
"Spike" the dog was in Old Yeller. He was probably in other movies too, but that's the one I remember for sure. I watched it all the time when I was a kid.
HEY ATW...YOUR THOROUGHNESS WHEN DOCUMENTING IS NOW LEGENDARY! You have been showcasing the U.S. MAIL building in Celebration for some time. The circle is now complete! Showing the building at Disney Studios designed by the same man finally ties it together. " That's what I love about you, your attention to detail"(Ace Ventura). Such an interesting vlog. I always learn something while enjoying your channel. You are the best!
Hi Adam🙋 Pyewacket was Kim Novaks "familiar" cat in Bell Book and Candle!! I love that movie and was excited to see Pyewacket recognized on the pet walk if fame😀 I'm a So Cal native so, love it when you vlog there ❤thank you _watch you every day!)
🤣 that was GIV...Michael's architecture is so cool. NICK Studious ..Rad ..oh man that would be so cool to see if the time capsule is in there..the neon clown for the win. Oh man this had so much goodness and the old school water crush
The houses on that residential street across from the studio are all owned by the studio, hence perfectly manicured lawns and no cars in the driveway. There are Disney security signs in front of most of them!
A couple of corrections and additions from a Disney cast member. The building with the dwarves isn't an Imagineering building, it's the Team Disney building and where Iger's office is. The row of houses facing the backside of the lot looks so perfect because Disney owns every house on the block. They are occasionally used for filming and for VIP guests to stay in.
You are a great speaker and your friend. Love Burbank Phoenix Arizona is 106 today Very hot! Lord all our travels and love animal cemeteries. Oh Abraham Lincoln wow! Oh Johnny Carson love Ed saying Hears ....Johnny. .
So weird to see where i live life daily on youtube like this. I grew up in burbank and then moved back with my girlfriend recently. I love burbank so much, it’s like a bubble in the middle of the valley that makes it such a unique place. Also the non existent crime rate doesn’t hurt one bit. Every house in burbank starts at 1.2 and goes up the higher up the mountain you get.
I’m so glad someone left that bottle of Faygo Cream Soda on the counter at Circus Liquors. Now the god that lives in my fridge is happy!

It's fairly crappy now. Bad city governing and people that have no idea of the history, much less respect for it are swallowing up the beauty.

Watched him as a child be respected

“Rhubarb” was a 1951 film (comedy) about a cat that inherited a baseball team. It was originally a book by my favorite author, H. Allen Smith.

Very cool . I’ll look into it
The band you were trying to remember was the Spin Doctors that sang little miss can’t be wrong
And keeping with the Prince theme, they had a song called Two Princes.
'Bell, Book and Candle' - Some great "spooky" scenes with Pye Wacket and Kim Novack.
Hi Adam🙋
Pyewacket was Kim Novaks "familiar" cat in Bell Book and Candle!! I love that movie and was excited to see Pyewacket recognized on the pet walk if fame😀
I'm a So Cal native so, love it when you vlog there
❤thank you _watch you every day!)
Great film
@@brendakrieger7000
I agree 😉
@@likearainbow7501 the cat was gorgeous
Trying to compare the current late night talk show hosts to the likes of Carson and McMahon or Leno should be a crime.
Truth
🤣 that was GIV...Michael's architecture is so cool. NICK Studious ..Rad ..oh man that would be so cool to see if the time capsule is in there..the neon clown for the win. Oh man this had so much goodness and the old school water crush
Pyewacket was Kim Novak's cat in BELL, BOOK, AND CANDLE, which also starred Jim Stewart.
Stay safe out there Adam 👍🏼
Enjoyed the tour around Burbank, & meeting Rosco.
Loved Letterman, Carson …. We still watch all his reruns and we like Jimmy Fallon
Adam the Woo rules!!!!
The houses on that residential street across from the studio are all owned by the studio, hence perfectly manicured lawns and no cars in the driveway. There are Disney security signs in front of most of them!
Spin Doctors was the band ,Adam you were thinking about. Little Miss can't be wrong! Two Princes!
Beat me to it!
The airplane on top of the sign at the Empire Center pays homage to the former Lockheed Martin plant which was on that site.
WELL THAT WAS A UNUSUAL TOUR!
Fun fact they filmed a scene from lethal weapon 3 (Riggs fights the movie director) near that barrel restaurant this is my street
That was a fun video!!
Spin Doctors!!🤣🤣🤣 David Letterman was the best!!!
Wow Adam I remember Rossco Soletrain from years back in your and Justin's videos its so awesome to see him again!! Very cool!!!
I would say the valley goes from west hills to north Hollywood. Burbank and glendale are there own things.
You are a great speaker and your friend. Love Burbank Phoenix Arizona is 106 today Very hot! Lord all our travels and love animal cemeteries. Oh Abraham Lincoln wow! Oh Johnny Carson love Ed saying Hears ....Johnny.
.
‘German in Venice’ another You -Tube Media Star 🌟
So weird to see where i live life daily on youtube like this. I grew up in burbank and then moved back with my girlfriend recently. I love burbank so much, it’s like a bubble in the middle of the valley that makes it such a unique place. Also the non existent crime rate doesn’t hurt one bit. Every house in burbank starts at 1.2 and goes up the higher up the mountain you get.
Not worth it at all.
@@carlalaudicinaLFC some are worth it, some definitely are not.
