- Today I installed a custom intercooler setup on 2Broke2Boosted, my budget turbo Miata build. This isn't the most traditional way to fit an inter cooler to an MX5 Miata, or to a car in general, but an over the radiator setup allowed me to do it relatively cheaply and easily, with minimal piping and couplers. By piecing together everything you need to install an intercooler you'll save money over buying a car specific kit and end up with less uneeded parts than the universal inter-cooler kits. With this intercooler installation my turbo Miata project is getting very close to being done, and I can't wait to start it up for the first time!

Bro, you're getting huge credits when I start filming my turbo build. I almost have all the same parts going in my Miata, so it's almost as if I'm watching a really well produced eBay turbo tutorial video.
Can’t wait to see your build! That was the goal with this series, teach viewers how to select good quality inexpensive parts and show them how to install them. Definetly plug the channel, every bit helps it grow!
I'm catching up! Did my IC routing yesterday and my mounting brackets today. Idle hose, boost line, and IAT all hooked up

Ran into something on the spreadsheet! Finally buying all the links on it and following along. I got to the intercooler link and saw that they are charging $999 for it!!! They marked that up like crazy. i did a good search of the exact same intercooler and it was only $100 everywhere else. Just thought id let you know incase you are still updating it.
I've just been rewatching this and I'm wondering what did you do with the IAC valve and the other hoses the 1.6 has under the throttlebody?
I have a video on vacuum lines but the IAC is routed to the IC piping!
why dont you run no bov? turbo flutter sounds great!
It does sound great. I like the BOV noise though and this will help protect the turbo as I turn up the boost!
@@CashedOutCars This is a hotly debated topic. In his later years, Corky Bell said that BOVs are unnecessary. I'm not running one. If my turbo blows up it'll be for science!

TBH you could oval the pipes slightly and barely lose any flow. I know you're well past this stage, but that's just my thoughts. Love grandpa's bead roller!
That's true, I ended up opening up the holes in the front support even more when I had it apart again. That bead roller is great!
How did you mount the sensor to the intercooler piping

I haven't been doing as much lately due to the virus. Lots of places are limited or closed so I've been doing my own thing for the time being. It'll be back though!
