If you find yourself getting angry being behind someone on the freeway going really slow, just remember to show some respect and know they might be transporting a $10,000 lego creation that took them a year to build
It's crazy how far this channel has come. I can't wait to see the city expanding! Here are some ideas: - Since you have so much space you can maybe build gas stations, wind turbines or tolls as you are transitioning to the modern parts of the city. - To add to the realism you might build warehouses or factories that supply the neighboring areas with goods. Even some trucks will make the scene very interesting. - A fun idea: Maybe add a hot balloon ride somewhere in the city and hang the colorful balloons from the ceiling (towards the back so that people don't attempt to touch them). It might add another dimension to the city.
Ideas: - airport (as mentioned) - railway Yard/industrial zone - adding hot air Balloons seems fitting - old castle maybe in the mountains - race track - observatory - ornate/large bridge over a river (suspension bridge or something similar) - amusement Park - camp ground Looks awesome! Hello from Australia
I think a great way to connect your old rural village with new modern buildings is to create a construction diorama in between. A Lego scene of some old-looking buildings being demolished and new ones being built. I think it is a good way of joining old and new in an animated and realistic way. It will help the different styles of architecture make sense so close to each other and allow you to incorporate endless fun details and storytelling. A new apparment block being painted, a new apparent block being built, a tower crane moving materials. Old houses being knocked down (built in the style of your rural village buildings. What do you think?
Considering you now have more space near the harbor, and it's on a lower level, I think having the trains connect to something in the harbor itself would be super cool. The rail system is such an integral part of your design, so having maybe some sort of freight area, even just for display, would be wonderful!
That's a lovely idea!! I think the importance in having different styles and building methods is high up there. That would certainly make for a cool piece to have! Would love to see a big ole cargo ship.
This is going to go from incredible to insane! My only thought was maybe to have a seperate city on the other side with the airport and have the middle as countryside/the village alongside a motorway/highway that connects the two major cities. You could add service stations etc along with farms and the village to break it up. Also as the other side sounds like it is going to be a little more industrial, a seaport along with the airport? Whatever you do though, I can't wait to see it!
I don't know if there's room for more than one but a little petrol station is a must have! Always wanted a Lego one. I also agree with the industrial recommendation. I think the town needs a factory or some warehouses.
That's a great suggestion! I guess highways aren't exciting but I really haven't seen them incorporated into LEGO cities. At the very least perhaps a recessed highway which has several exits that serve the city(ies) but because it's mostly hidden doesn't require a full build.
A lot of modern airports seek to be far away from cities, surrounded by as much sparsely-populated land as possible. Having some open plains or pastures beyond the rural town would work, but you’ll also want some visually interesting stuff beyond flat grassland. Some Ideas include: 1) Car Rentals, hotels, motels and other amenities for people leaving the terminal 2) A traffic accident 3) A Power Plant, with attendant power lines stretching back towards the City proper 4) A cattle farm 5) Road Work/Construction 6) Rivers, valleys, and hills of course. 7) A Breaking Bad Reference 8) Perhaps some ruins made to look like the remains of Wild West Mockup, implying the Lego City is a future version of that old town? 9) Golf course 10) Nature Preserve with campsites
It's so cool to see it in the new space! I'm wondering what you'll do with the empty boards if you plan to have the museum open while you build. I think it would be fun to paint a map on them so visitors could get an idea of what's to come.
The new place is coming together nicely! I'm a bit skeptical about the airport idea, but since it's you doing the design, I'm sure it will turn out alright. In my opinion, a huge part of the charm of your city comes from how thematic and senseful it looks, and if you can find a way to build an airport that doesn't look bland, I'm super excited for it! I'd love to visit once the museum is completed!
I'm concerned that the Airport would take up a lot of room due to the size of the planes it'd have to house as well as the massive runways. Can't wait to see how you'll make the space look interesting regardless!
I am glad to be so early! I hope I can get to visit this museum in the future, it really is amazing. What you're doing deserves to be recognized by many more people!
Here are some ideas: 1. A carnival &/or amusement park. 2. A winter sports center (hockey, skiing, skating) bobsledding, 3. An outdoor amphitheater &/or theater for plays or movies or concerts, 4. A campground. 5. A building under construction. 6. A palace and gardens. 7. A dairy, fruit trees, farmer's market, petting zoo and restaurant.
Growing up with a grandfather who was really into model trains and had an entire room like this but trains, and me just really being into Lego all my life, I find this absolutely amazing! Been following for a while, congrats, I love seeing all this come back together!
I think adding a large field/rural section in the front between the airport runway and the older looking village would be a nice transition idea as runways are typically surrounded by fields/empty land anyways, so it makes sense to have fields for both the village and the airport and it would make the contrast between the village and terminal less noticeable. Amazing video as always, can’t wait for the next update :)
Near the village, a large pasture with cows and an orchard. I’m sure you could create a beautiful apple tree and it would add some color in the vegetation. Also hay bales will give it variety. Rolling green hills behind the pasture to connect with the mountains. The farmers market stand in the city can have fresh local produce from the farm. A grocery store could have a small section in the front with fresh fruits and vegetables from the farm as well.
I don't think that the upper platform blocking view of the rest of the city would've been a bad thing. Things like that encourage people to move in and explore, but I'm sure it will look great either way! Good luck :)
So excited! The city is really coming to life with all the extra space! I think using that entire length plate for an airport/runway isn't the best idea - I'd nearly use the corner for the terminal and long plate for a short runway but then transition the rest of the long side for swamplands or desert or something else - I'm not sure walking up the stairs and seeing an airport runway would be the best welcoming to the city. Love what you're doing, whatever you come up with I know I will love!
Absolutely love the change of position of the train tunnel wall, still looks like it’s part of the city, even though it’s not connected to anything. Your city is just built that well. That’s skills right there
Behind the old village you could have a little castle, like half ruined half restored for turism and museum of local history. Also, in the corner that connects airport with the rest of the surface, you can have an industrial area with different kind of factories, which is something not very often seen. Also you may have space for some clean energy assets like wind generators or a solar park (photovoltaic or heat). Probably factories can hide some extra snippets of the mafia story. You are making such a great work! I love how it looks and I envy a lot that you can work on that
You could maybe build a miniature-build castle or something on the mountain range behind the city (like two-three blocks tall), I think it might really reinforce the perspective. Keep up the great work!
Yeah i think he had a small castle like structure previously (one of the first videos on the english channel). U could extend that if you are doing the mountain portion at the back of the village.
Because the distance to the mock is bigger and the ceiling higher (I think) the mountain feels a bit small. So a bigger mountain or a miniature structure is going to help.
If you are moving the upper platform, there will still be a hill/cliff leading from the harbour. Such a hill is an ideal spot for an old fortress (like Akershus fortress in Oslo, or Bergenhus fortress in Bergen). That will create some new angles (if star shaped fortress) a bit, merge old history with more modern developments, and present a cool challenge for implementation.
Love the airport idea! I think a taller more modern downtown type of city with skyscraper type buildings would be a perfect addition to that area. Make more of a downtown Lego city, rural area and an old town (existing city)
Will there be a downtown area with high rises in the future? That would be so cool, especially since the skyscraper you already have looks awesome! I can't wait for the airport!
@@u.p.1038 Well, at least 1 will be included since it is practically finished. It just needs to find a new spot in the layout since the old old layout (the one before this channel began) was ended
@@u.p.1038 I think with enough distance/transition it would be cool. I think you can create a perfect organic transition from the paris style neo-classical buildings (that you also find in NYC) to a skyline with modern skyscrapers. Between, I image neo-classical skycrapers like the empire building (basically a higher version of the buildings that are already there) transitioning to art deco skyscrapers (e.g. Chrysler building) and then to modern glass/steel office buildings.
I just love how much detail you put into the city, you dont just put a bunch of set houses on road plates but you actually make so much from scratch. its really impressive
I've never commented on any of your videos before but I've been watching your content for a while now and when you mentioned an airport, well that's kinda my thing. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make when building a model airport, wether it be in lego or not, is the scale and size. Airports are huge, even smaller regional airports take up a lot of space and the majority of space at airports is just grass in-between runways and taxiways to allow for the wingspan of aircraft. Luckily you do have a lot of space but personally I wouldn't attempt a big international airport and maybe go with a smaller, maybe even general aviation airfield with a small terminal sort of setup. You may find it handy researching small airports around your local area to get a nice idea and using the google earth measuring feature to get an idea of how to scale it accordingly with Lego. I'm only mentioning this because you've done such an amazing job with keeping what you've done already in scale and realistic compared to the other lego cities I've seen on RUclips. Keep up the great work!
Very ambitious plans, I like your city a lot! I'd like to see some kind of an industrial area with railroad for transporting the goods manufactured there.
I almost wonder if there could be hints of a rocket platform or spaceship hanger to connect the theme with the lunar landscape... So creative regardless. We are looking forward to how everything starts coming together
With this new layout you have an amazing opportunity to make a sublevel. A deep lake, a car/train tunnel, a lit up cave system or something similar. Using the front underside of a table not only increases the 3d feeling but will also be greatly appreciated by kids and shorter people.
I was honestly iffy on the new cloud backdrop, but now that we can see the modules in front of it, I think it really ties things together! Incredible work and dedication so far!
Love the idea of an airport there, modern and harsh, to contrast the beautiful countryside not far away. Maybe a small diner or fastfood shop near the airport too, and really get that feeling that the nearby town was quite annoyed that an airport was built that close to them, driving down property values.
Not sure how you'll implement the subway station idea you had before, but the new layout feels sooo different yet I can't wait for you to tackle the transition from the rural village to the bigger city!
In the German version of this video he said it will most likely be the train station for the airport. After all, its basically done (including lighting) anyway
Airport sounds great. A bus station with old style buses would be nice. A ski resort would be exciting, a coal mine, nature reserve or national park. For new city you could have a metropolis. I'd love an old style rural church. Do they have canal boats? You could have a waterway with tunnels and pubs and moorings. Extend the tram line. Build an underground line? To be honest with so much space and your talent, you could do anything. It's been a joy to watch you design everything. I am living the lego dream vicariously through your endeavours. Well done and I can't wait to see what you will do next.
Airport sounds great and throw in a skyscraper or two? Taller mountain along that back wall. Maybe with a ski resort and weather station? Is there room for out of the way spooky mansion? In a forest? A harbor connected to the airport? Some kind of amusement park near the water? Sooooo cool this new space. Can't wait to see everything
It looks so soooo great! I'm so excited to see how it will all turn out. What about adding a rocket launching pad in the city ? That would explain where the astronauts from the moon base are coming from, training, etc... ? Although it might be hard to have both an airport and a launching pad/area
you could build taller buildings in the middle and as it spreads out they get lower, because now you can move around the city which is gonna add so much more unique builds
What I really like about this lego city at its current state is the differing parts of elevation it has, really spruces it up. Looking forward to the many different styles to buildings and especially terrain that'll show up as it all expands.
I can't wait to see it live when you finish. You're making some magnificent work! 🤯 I'm normally not into city builiding, and I found you throught your western moc, but yours is great! Keep up the great work
Wow the new spot looks amazing. I can't wait to see it with the light cycle. I would like to throw my bit in for the airport/new space. As a Lego builder I'd love to build one. But the city planner in me screams you need an industrial district. What does the town produce, what's their export? Plus with how the room curves it could be like the town was built around the bay.
Maybe you can build a little logging area between the city and the village, would be cool and it doesn't have to be big. Just some trees being cut down, a truck and a crane, it can be a very interesting small area
I would love to see the tram line getting some love, and maybe like a old school brick style depo in the city. Would be a really cool addition 😊 if you build some kind of power plant or wind turbine, a power line to the city would be a cool edition!
Big mountain in the background with snow on, mountain climbers, skilifts, caves and a restaurant with parking below. That would fit the old town you have in the middle.
The rural village houses would look good separated from the more modern houses by some rolling hills on either side leading to a big mountain like the matterhorn because it already has an alpine village vibe.....lots of possibilities with that too like putting in a ski slope and chair lift area, mountain cabins etc.
I like the idea of an airport, but I think a more exciting alternative would be a massive dock for ferries and cruise-ships. You already have laid out the MOC in the shape of a bay, and you could build the second city as a tourist town with apartment blocks and bars running the sea-front.
Maybe you could invlude a business hub to the airport. Some office buildings, a conference / expo centre, etc. Plus of course a train station to connect to city centre. And for my son, who loves fire brigades, an airport firestation has to be included
Industrial zone near the airport? Maybe separate that zone from half timber housing with rolling hills? Tunnel to main city for train tracks? Love to see what you do!
I think an airport would be cool, but I also really think a downtown area with skyscrapers or an industrial area with a railyard and cranes or factories would be really cool. I'd be excited to see what you come up with when designed large equipment or machinery.
We think you should integrate a Lego build which is like the vintage Lego Airport Shuttle Monorail set 6399. This could connect a monorail to the future airport.
Great work! I would add another corn field between the city and the village, a lot bigger than the other one but with the same techniques… and maybe adding some minifigs running through it? A classic from movies.
Maybe you could try out a super futuristic city by the airport and give the terminal a cool futuristic look. No matter what you do with the space I know it will be cool.
Wow! Congratulations! This is incredible, thank you so much for sharing this with us! The space came into scale with the Lego city in it, and I look forward to every video you post
Awesome. Can't wait to see what you will do with all that space. I hope I'll be able to see it myself in Innsbrück one day. Maybe a small suggestion for the airport: moving planes... Taxiing, taking off, or landing. Making it 'alive'. Just a thought.
Awesome setup! Rather than a big commercial airport with a terminal, what making it more of a local small airport/airstrip? A couple of hangars, control tower, a bunch of old Cessna's and stuff? I feel that would be more in line with the vibe of the city and leave room for something else.
maybe u should double the high of the mountain and make like mountain village and below like a valley with animal farmers and after that transition to the city! that will be awesome!
Very cool! Moving the upper platform was definitely the right call, though now I'm a little worried the train tracks take a bit too much space and make that whole area feel a bit flat. I'm not really a fan of airports as the runways aren't very visually interesting, but that does seem like the right place to build one if you go ahead with it.
I think a monument, park or two, a mall or other shopping district, possibly a theme park (I'm thinking LEGOLAND would be amazing, and allow for a bunch of other minifigures you otherwise wouldn't see in a city theme) then at least one sky scrapper, and like a suburb would all be nice. Otherwise a school and/or museum are fun ideas as well. Better yet a zoo; showing off the various animals, including the new koala via the blind bags. Maybe just go full Sim City and have a natural disaster? A volcano, arguably being among the easier and more interesting to see in LEGO form save for a massive tidal wave! Or what about a movie theater where, you could do a mosaic of sorts for a still frame from a film, or simply build a small set for the scene so it'd be as though the movie goers were seeing it in 3D! XD
I think you should switch the locations of the airport and the rural area. This way it would be much more natural to have an airport on the outskirts of the city and a village even further away from the city. Small village in between a modern airport and a city doesn't make much sense to be honest. But great work anyway! Can't wait to see what's coming next!
It would be fun to see you build an old castle, perhaps a restored ruin to bring tourism to the area, or even a castle-hotel to bridge the gap between the rural and modern areas?
I think in-between the airport and the old style town, maybe a lake (water scene) with camping, would allow boats to be shown with impression of movement on water (water-skiers). jet ski race etc. People camping by lake with tents and BBQ, RV vans etc.

With this new layout you have an amazing opportunity to make a sublevel. A deep lake, a car/train tunnel, a lit up cave system or something similar. Using the front underside of a table not only increases the 3d feeling but will also be greatly appreciated by kids and shorter people.
This is absolutely epic! Love the airport idea. And expanding the harbor sounds so fun.
A sports facility like a mountainbike park could be fun in the more rural area
I was honestly iffy on the new cloud backdrop, but now that we can see the modules in front of it, I think it really ties things together! Incredible work and dedication so far!
I think you should make a taller, snowcapped mountain with maybe some ski slopes
I really loved that spiral staircase you made for the wall that you're removing. Here's hoping it makes a return somewhere else in the build :)
Hopefully the platform returns. I think it added some much needed verticality to the layout
Love the idea of an airport there, modern and harsh, to contrast the beautiful countryside not far away. Maybe a small diner or fastfood shop near the airport too, and really get that feeling that the nearby town was quite annoyed that an airport was built that close to them, driving down property values.
Not sure how you'll implement the subway station idea you had before, but the new layout feels sooo different yet I can't wait for you to tackle the transition from the rural village to the bigger city!
in his very first layout (which you can see if you scroll back like 2 years on his german channel) he put it underneath the platform
In the German version of this video he said it will most likely be the train station for the airport. After all, its basically done (including lighting) anyway
@@Hendricus56 that sounds great, can't wait till that day comes
@@MC-di7op yeah I did notice that actually, but I wondered where they will put it now that the layout adjusted quite a bit.
Some times I wish I had a big Lego city but then I realize the frustration and pain of moving it around when you need space
Amazing truly, i think separating the city and village is really smart!
A large scale farm/ vineyard would be cool, the current small wheat field you have extended would be great.
I think some big harbor with cargo ships and cargo trains will be perfect
I can guarantee we're all also super excited to see what you do going forward!
Looks really good! I cannot wait for the airport lol
It looks amazing! I would love to see a millitary base
Maybe a ski resort or a snowy mountain would look nice. GREAT VIDEO!!!
I think making a ski hill would be really cool and would add another dimension to the city!
It looks so soooo great! I'm so excited to see how it will all turn out.
What about adding a rocket launching pad in the city ? That would explain where the astronauts from the moon base are coming from, training, etc... ?
Although it might be hard to have both an airport and a launching pad/area
It would be interasting to see a mining company with a quarry and a mine. And a factory
you need to make a mega industrial type city with tall buildings tightly sneezed roads and ally ways would look really cool
you could build taller buildings in the middle and as it spreads out they get lower, because now you can move around the city which is gonna add so much more unique builds
What I really like about this lego city at its current state is the differing parts of elevation it has, really spruces it up. Looking forward to the many different styles to buildings and especially terrain that'll show up as it all expands.
I will visit this museum when it opens!
That’s crazy I think you should make your museum in minifigures scale as an Easter egg love the work keep it
This is amazing, cant wait to see what you will do in the future!
This is amazing so big so good great result turning the wall. Love it.
Airport with a smallish racetrack at the far end, TopGear Dunsfold Park style
Amazing work!! Happy to see it's getting back together again! I would LOVE to see the airport in the future! :D All the best from The Netherlands!
I really love to see lego its soo relaxing 😊 and cool 😎
an airport at that scale sounds incredible!
This is so impressive
The rural village houses would look good separated from the more modern houses by some rolling hills on either side leading to a big mountain like the matterhorn because it already has an alpine village vibe.....lots of possibilities with that too like putting in a ski slope and chair lift area, mountain cabins etc.
Great video! Love your new space. So much room to grow. I love the wild rural parts of your layout. Looking forward to your harbour area expansions.
I like the idea of an airport, but I think a more exciting alternative would be a massive dock for ferries and cruise-ships.
You already have laid out the MOC in the shape of a bay, and you could build the second city as a tourist town with apartment blocks and bars running the sea-front.
Wow this is mega lego I wish I could have that like you 😮
Maybe you could invlude a business hub to the airport.
Awesome city!!!! Thanks for the English update! An airport sounds awesome! I also think a shipyard would be cool too
We think you should integrate a Lego build which is like the vintage Lego Airport Shuttle Monorail set 6399. This could connect a monorail to the future airport.
Great work! I would add another corn field between the city and the village, a lot bigger than the other one but with the same techniques… and maybe adding some minifigs running through it? A classic from movies.
You should expand the train station and create a little more of a stream line passenger train
Maybe you could try out a super futuristic city by the airport and give the terminal a cool futuristic look. No matter what you do with the space I know it will be cool.
I definitely think that a campsite and a forest would look amazing for the transition and would bring the city to life with a lot more nature areas
I'm not really a fan of airports as the runways aren't very visually interesting, but that does seem like the right place to build one if you go ahead with it.
you should def add a park to the city , but not just any park , it needs to be a jurassic park
Übelste Maschine, pushing whole towns and citys without straining a muscle. Looks great!
