- I started a vlog and here is episode 1! No two days are the same in the studio and I thought it would be fun (and educational) to share with you a week in the life of a full time potter and pottery teacher.
In this episode I share the launch of our wooden rim templates, a preview of a new textured rolling pin design, some handbuilt plates, mugs to carve and the pieces we made in this weeks live at 5 and Primetime classes on ClayShare.

I’m so glad to see your work table!! I don’t feel so bad that I’m always in that state when I’m working ! 😂 I have a relatively small work table compared to yours but that’s ok. I feel good knowing that I can have several things going at once. I love your space and it was so cool to see it last year at the open studio and it’s so cool to see it now in full working mode. Have a great tour weekend !!

I am so glad you shared the reality of the mess that happens when creating. Now I don't need to judge myself so harshly. Lol
lol, being creative is messy! I’ve embraced it and I do clean up every day or so but then it always gets messy again when I’m working.😂
I like the casual “what I’m doing today” format! And Yes, makes me know that my messiness is normal!! 😂

Yes I will be ordering one. That was our flowers when we renewed our 30th wedding vows in Antigua in 2015 fell in love with that flower.❤

Art is messy. When I am in making mode I make a huge mess, as you saw.

Thanks! I do sell my work during open studio weekend here at the studio and in a few online sales each year. I have an exhibition in NYC and as soon as the work for that is done I’ll begin making pieces for a fall online sale!☺️

How do you make your weight bags?
It’s kitty litter in old shirts. I actually have a class on how to make them on ClayShare. They are no sew and easy to make!

It’s repurposed t-shirts with kitty litter (or you could use sand/beans/lentis) in them. I have a class on ClayShare that teaches how to make them.☺️
Please explain why you dont have running water in your studio?
Our towns zoning laws will not allow me to put in a well or septic because it would be too close to my neighbors well/spetic. They cannot be closer than 300 ft to each other and mine would be around 200ft away so I had to be creative and find other solutions.☺️
