FIgure skating is so beautiful! I wish I could do it too but i could barely jump and turn on the ground without hurting myself hahah! Becca You can do this! It can get demotivating sometimes but once its a habit you just stretch without thinking too much.
Ahhh I knew the flow of this routine looked familiar! I'm doing Aliva's middle splits routine right now. I'm getting to the point where I've had to start increasing the timing and difficulty of the stretches to see progress. She's so thorough; it's great.
I’m an inflexible ballet and contemporary dancer. I’m working to start compeating but it feels like my flexibility is holding me back. So here I am for motivation:)
You can do it! I also started pursuing flexibility goals since I started aerial dance for the exact same reason, didnt want to be held back. If i can, you can too!
There is hope!!! Train safe and consistently. it will happen to you in no time for real. There is really no quick dirty trick other than just keep going it. Focus on how you feel and be thankful for continuing this habit. I only check progress once a month or every two months. This way you will always feel like you are moving forward.
Thank you! It's all relative right. I never felt flexible and even now it still feels like i have a long way to go haha but this is how we drive ourselves forward!
Love seeing it side by side. Patience and consistency are always key! Amazing progress!!! Main progress I noticed was when doing stretches such as sitting down and reaching for your toes, you're able to get your belly button/stomach closer to your feet. Always something I struggle with, so its cool to see the improvement!
My hip and legs are relatively flexible compared to shoulders and back. The more I learned about my body the more I see how my habits shaped who I am today, and how my actions today will shape my future physically. I didn't know it was possible to improve because it felt like it wont change. But it did and I know it will for you too Nisha =)!
I’m 38 years old, with back problems and I know that getting into shape will take care of a lot of my problems. This video is really going to help me. I may not be in my 20s, but I’m not old enough to be this uncomfortable all the time. I’m going to start these stretches this morning.
i may not be 38 but when I started I also had lots of back and knee problem (from bad postures). The more I learn the more I feel much better about my health! I hope you will find videos on this channel useful!
@@aerialpractice I had to stop newborn studio photography because of my back. Leaning over to pose babies for an afternoon would put me out of commission for two or three days. I don’t necessarily expect to be pain free, but if I can reduce it significantly, then there is no reason not to. I really needed a good routine that I can follow and this looks like it will fit the bill. It’s not too long and it’s pretty low impact. It’s easy to start slow and progress, as none of the movements require one to already have a certain level of flexibility. I’ll probably do some before and after videos to track my own progress, since seeing the results is a big motivator. (Nothing I will post, but just for my own benefit) Great video and great job!
you have improved so much! Love to see details like you are able to have your foot flat on the mat and bend all the way to the other leg very impressive! also you look more comfortable doing those stretches? and your wall color looks nice 😅✌🏻 thanks for sharing this video! definetly a motivation for me!

We all do! I struggle with bulding strength more but flexibility isn't getting easier either. I am at a point got used to being active and stop focusing so much on the struggle. really seeing and feeling lots of improvements! you can too!
Love this video! It’s definitely helped motivate me! I do have one tip tho, try and straighten those knees in the stretches (that require ur leg to be straight of course) to feel a better stretch!
Thanks for the tip! This feels forever ago so i m glad i can see this to remind myself how far i have come. sometimes its easy to get stuck in progress/no progress haha
They will! Legs/Hip stretches were relatively easier for me since my sport was swimming before, but shoulders and back stretches are so incredibly hard as i never trained those muscles ever before. Tightness is a sign of weakness, means we can train them!

I do try pointing my toe upwards but when getting down that doesn't happen, I'm around 4 inches from the ground.
I did use to stretch every day and it was a huge mistake. To give you a short overview, I felt sore every day when I stretched every day. I kept experimenting and learning and eventually put together Top10 STRETCH that work for my busy schedule and ambitious goals. That's such a nice progress video! I used to do Alivia's videos as well...but after a few months I started feeling a sharp pain when stretching my right leg on the inner side of my tigh...even now after 2 years I still feel this sharp pain :( And recently my knees started hurting after starting to stretch again...it feels like something in my knee is pulling...I am pretty young, I am 18 now so I really don't know why I have these problems, do you have any idea? :(
Best to invest in taking lessons with experienced coaches! I also had knee pain when extending my legs to pushing for my limits, like the middle splits for instance. Later I learned that these are signals from your body. Soreness is normal within the first few days, persistent pain is not. I looked at what I was doing and adjusted my routines, so i dont have the same pain anymore. Do you feel your sharp pain in your day to day? or just when you tried to stretch?
@@aerialpractice I just feel it when I stretch! Thanks for the advice. I rested my knees for a few days and slowly started to stretch again after a light workout and its gotten a lot better :)

@@konstantinmuller6725 I made a lot of mistakes when i started. I actually stretched too often and didnt give myself enough time to rest. I'd be well happy if I reached your 2019 level... :)
I had the goal to do middle splits in 2019 but i am still working on it and it's 2021 HAHAHA! I have definitely progress but not as much as I wanted to because of course.. i got lazy! Hopefully this year.
it takes time and we got time =)!

I'm 18 yrs old. I'm traditional dancer. Now i really really want to be flexible .can I.
Please tell me I can't even do a one split. You think I can do that after this.
I am sure you can! get a good coach you can excel safely and surely.
@@aerialpractice unfortunately I don't have money for that. I just want to do it watching YT videos.
But thank u
I want to be flexible for tkd and just in general 😭 stretching is fun but I’m so inflexible
if you enjoy it you will become flexible in time! just be patience and practice =)
Im 14 years and im not flexible at all but this vacations I decided to do splits
Make sure you try the active stretches. This way you can build a split that will not go away easily. There is also an ultimate playlist for splits too!
@@aerialpractice thanks for your help
Do you follow Anna mcnulty stretch routine
Not really. Her routine is not so suitable for me. I do more strength based workout.
How often did you do this? Every day?
Havent done this routine for a few years now! But I work on my flexibility quite often yea! You can find all my routines on this channel =)
@@aerialpractice thanks for your answer:)!
Back then, when you did it, do you remember how often per week you exercised?
@@konstantinmuller6725 I made a lot of mistakes when i started. I actually stretched too often and didnt give myself enough time to rest.
The real break through came when I started doing 3-4 times a week, 10 minutes each, where I also alternative routines. Slowly with time I learned more of my weaknesses and learned how to target them best. Today I don't have a set schedule to stress but I do a lot of strengthening. I notice my flexibility continues to grow!
