      FIgure skating is so beautiful! I wish I could do it too but i could barely jump and turn on the ground without hurting myself hahah! Becca You can do this! It can get demotivating sometimes but once its a habit you just stretch without thinking too much.

Main progress I noticed was when doing stretches such as sitting down and reaching for your toes, you're able to get your belly button/stomach closer to your feet. Always something I struggle with, so its cool to see the improvement!

    • @aerialpractice
      @aerialpractice  4 года назад +8

      My hip and legs are relatively flexible compared to shoulders and back. The more I learned about my body the more I see how my habits shaped who I am today, and how my actions today will shape my future physically. I didn't know it was possible to improve because it felt like it wont change. But it did and I know it will for you too Nisha =)!

    I’m 38 years old, with back problems and I know that getting into shape will take care of a lot of my problems.
    This video is really going to help me. I may not be in my 20s, but I’m not old enough to be this uncomfortable all the time. I’m going to start these stretches this morning.

    • @aerialpractice
      @aerialpractice  2 года назад +1

      i may not be 38 but when I started I also had lots of back and knee problem (from bad postures). The more I learn the more I feel much better about my health! I hope you will find videos on this channel useful!

    • @parksnewbornportraiture4989
      @parksnewbornportraiture4989 2 года назад

      @@aerialpractice I had to stop newborn studio photography because of my back. Leaning over to pose babies for an afternoon would put me out of commission for two or three days.
      I don’t necessarily expect to be pain free, but if I can reduce it significantly, then there is no reason not to. I really needed a good routine that I can follow and this looks like it will fit the bill. It’s not too long and it’s pretty low impact. It’s easy to start slow and progress, as none of the movements require one to already have a certain level of flexibility.
      I’ll probably do some before and after videos to track my own progress, since seeing the results is a big motivator. (Nothing I will post, but just for my own benefit)
      Great video and great job!

    I tried doing the aerial few years ago but I gave up because I cant seem to do it no matter how hard I try. But I realized that the reason I cant do it is because I dont do enough stretchings (and I was just lazy lol) This video renewed my desire to do aerials again! Hope you dont mind if I steal the stretches you did in your video. More power to you!

    • @aerialpractice
      @aerialpractice  4 года назад +3

      OMG I also wanted to give up so so so many times. I was born lazy haha! over 20 experience of NO strength made it hard to start and gain strength, but I decided its time to change now! Stretching seemed easy to start because I thought just sitting in position, whats so hard about that. Now I know its a lot more than static position but more improving strengthen and flexibility as a hole. I definitely do not mind the stealing of stretches! None of the thing I do is perfectly original - I dont have that years of experience to understand enough! I am a beginner and learning myself, and my skill is to organize and select what I found most useful to make it more accessible for others who wish to join the journey! With that said, I hope you will find my videos useful and I look forward seeing you in the air again =)

    Did you use to stretch everyday, throughout the year? What did you do when you felt sore? And did you use to feel any slight pain in and around your knees in some of the stretches? I'm on my journey to getting my middle splits, but sometimes I feel a pain in my knees. I do try pointing my toe upwards but when getting down that doesn't happen, I'm around 4 inches from the ground.

    • @aerialpractice
      @aerialpractice  4 года назад +3

      I did use to stretch every day and it was a huge mistake. To give you a short overview, I felt sore every day when I stretched every day. I kept experimenting and learning and eventually put together Top10 STRETCH that work for my busy schedule and ambitious goals. I did have some knee pain before, but the more I learn, listen to my body, and adjust how I train, I don't have pain anymore. I wrote more about this on my site. let me share with you and if you have any question still, feel free to ask.

      I stretch daily (but very light). I am focusing much more on conditioning so my daily stretching is more for releasing the tension from my strength training.

    And recently my knees started hurting after starting to stretch again...it feels like something in my knee is pulling...I am pretty young, I am 18 now so I really don't know why I have these problems, do you have any idea? :(

    • @aerialpractice
      @aerialpractice  4 года назад +1

      Best to invest in taking lessons with experienced coaches! I also had knee pain when extending my legs to pushing for my limits, like the middle splits for instance. Later I learned that these are signals from your body. Soreness is normal within the first few days, persistent pain is not. I looked at what I was doing and adjusted my routines, so i dont have the same pain anymore. Do you feel your sharp pain in your day to day? or just when you tried to stretch?

      I use a thin crush mat with Pogamat underneath. Have you tried to think more on the surrounding muscles to support the knees in certain positions?

    I just want to find someone that is so non flexible like me but everyone is so much more flexible I can’t get my legs more away from each other than ✌️ this and how much I work does not seem to bring anything I just can’t get past this it is really depressing😅

    • @aerialpractice

      I feel you mimi. I guarantee you not everyone is as flexible as you think, but either way flexibility/fitness is only about you and your growth. Great things take time =) You can do it. I learned to feel my body and work on my weaknesses, it's getting better but still lots of work!

    • @aerialpractice
      @aerialpractice  2 года назад +1

      @@konstantinmuller6725 I made a lot of mistakes when i started. I actually stretched too often and didnt give myself enough time to rest.
      The real break through came when I started doing 3-4 times a week, 10 minutes each, where I also alternative routines. Slowly with time I learned more of my weaknesses and learned how to target them best. Today I don't have a set schedule to stress but I do a lot of strengthening. I notice my flexibility continues to grow!
