- Hey everyone!
Welcome back to our Sunday podcast, "Sit and Kit for a Bit" with Arne and Carlos! As always, we bring you another episode full of crafting, chatting, and fun. For those of you who are new, this isn't just a knitting podcast; we dive into crochet, sewing, and all sorts of crafts. The name "Sit and Knit for a Bit" comes from our idea of you joining us while we craft and chat away. We've been doing this since the pandemic hit!😍
Today, we're discussing our latest project: building an extension to our home. It's been quite the adventure, with the walls going up and the roof coming on. We're also turning a room into our dream studio with a gorgeous view of the lake.
But let's not forget about our recent Easter vacation, where we had a full house with family visiting. We cooked up a storm, including a massive lasagna that could feed an army! And yes, we're off to London for a few days, but not before we share a funny story about a crochet blanket repair mishap in our bathroom.
So, grab your crafting supplies, settle in, and let's dive into another episode of "Sit and Knit for a Bit"! Don't forget to like, subscribe, and leave us a comment below. Happy crafting, everyone!

Hello dear dear friends!!!❤
I like the bright one
I love the one with the black! Yes, do two. Great idea.
I like "handed in their slippers".
The colorful one
Thanks so much loads of fun interesting projects you have shared with us.
Thank you for watching!
"Handed in her slippers." Nice way of saying it. I have heard, "He popped his clogs"
I like them both both of them look gorgeous
That fabric you want to use as curtains would make a great button down shirt!
The black one is my favourite it’s stunning xx
Love the rouching, elegant!
In my pert opinion, I prefer the color granny squares the BEST! 🤠
I like the black background. It's so vibrant.
Thank you so much!
I think I like the colorful background:)
You’re going to have a wonderful time in London, especially seeing Marienal Nunez, she’s wonderful dancer
I like both flower versions, but the many-colored one is my favorite.
Flatsey….. that made me laugh out loud😊
I like them both!
Love those ski pictures.❤
Love the colorful one!
💛💛💛 looking forward to hearing about your Liberty excursion
Que lindo todo lo que hacen me encanto la muñequita felicitaciones 🇺🇾
I like the colourful one 😍
I make my bed everyday. Ido have a quilt on the bed. No bed spreads 🙃 I like the flowers Not the black background though it does remind me of stain glass window. Have a fun trip😊
I love Libertys. I think it’s sweet that you say someone has handed in their slippers. In the UK we also say someone has “ popped their clogs! “
Love all of your projects!
I don't crochet, but I like them both!
I decided I love the different colors around the flowers…easier to get rid of small amounts of scrap yarn too! 😊 I knit socks throughout the year so I have lots of leftovers and if the flowers are smaller…. I think that will look just as nice☺️💕
Love the black
The black is nicest
Hello from California, we so excited to find you, love watching you two describe and share your projects. It’s fun watching your visits with Kate.
Welcome to our channel!
Your planned trip to London sounds delightful. I can't wait to hear a how it went 🙂
I like the one with more colors! I mostly avoid black because it doesn’t go with anything in my house. That said, I love the one with bigger flowers and black background in your VW Bug.
Exactly. I was wondering about a daybed in the bathroom!😂 it sounds beautiful. And the crochet blanket is lovely. It's a very hard choice, the same background or different. H,mm?, the pictures of the skiers are beautiful!
I love the black one!
Most enjoyable podcast, so many different things covered, and so beautiful. Looking forward for more videos, and when will you cook for us again, I miss that ☺️
As always, a great show. Lots of inspiration. I am going to the library this morning and then I will come home and look for your crochet pattern on in your shop. Have a fun trip to London.
I love both of your hexagonal crochet pieces. The one with the black back looks "chic", the other one has more of a rustic look. Some day I will make some of these.
Black looks good.
Thank you for another episode of the “Dead Lady’s Projects “, dahn, dahn, dahn!😅. Arne the elf has found a new Dead Lady’s Project to finish. By doing so, he saves the Dead Lady’s Reputation of Good Taste, so that she may Rest In Peace knowing that the finished product is Carlos Approved and Appreciated for a place in their home and lifestyle. Fin
I think you may have a book series with that and maybe a ballet, “She Handed in Her Slippers .”
In any case, I like this cross stitch because it looks like it has owl eyes and the yarn colors are nice.
Plastic laminating the directions is a good idea that I think I will use.
Your flatsy is different from my childhood - yours is very versatile. Mine had a theme - and came with a little bicycle. thanks for the memories.
Safe travels.
I love that fabric
😍😍
I like the black one.
Thank you!
Ew a miniature house of your house would be amazing Arne haha
Hello Arne & Carlos, you must be so excited about the extension! Is the neighbour across the lake the lady I met in one of your lectures on the Havila Capella? If so, she was lovely! I agree. Once the building is finished, it will all blend in and look fabulous!! And to be sitting up high and looking down to the lake?? How beautiful! Crocheting your Granny Squares together looks so gooooood!!! I love the Crocheted Flowers blanket in black.... so dramatic! Cleaning through Crafting....I love it!! Carlos!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Peaceful breathing!!!
Hiya Arne and Carlos 😊, l do so love Arne's tongue in cheek teasing,it offsets Carlos's need to organise the details and order of things so urgently; what a marvellous pair and how well suited; - together you are a balanced pair😅❤ Watched as Kate enthusiasticly related the trip she shared with you;- what a busy time you all have! I have been restoring some antique dolls and am caught up with much bead work and miniatures; so ,❤seeing your take on this aspect in your works Keep well safe and contented, best wishes, J.I.M.K Mrs. Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ 😀 🪃
I like them both guys….
In the US we have Flat Stanley. He gets photographed all over the world!😎
😍
Knitting as always, brioche stitch! We girls always need more clothes.....my arms are open too! If you were my neighbors, I would never complain! As for the tower room you want, think gingerbread next Christmas! You were in New York and didn't tell me...tsk tsk tsk! I can relate to the lake swimming. My cousins would visit us in the summer from Baltimore and would turn blue in our Adirondack lakes 🤣🤣🤣. I like the black flower afghan. Black makes it pop 🍾! I love seeing the dollhouse. Thanks for the update. You will love Swan Lake. I have seen it with the NYC Ballet. Enjoy! Arne...the dead lady is looking down on you and smiling. She is happy, I am sure. Okay, make your bed and put a decorative statement piece folded at the bottom!
The black one😊
I prefer the black
The black background makes the flowers pop out. Both are beautiful.
❤ Carlos! What grace! You are ready for the stage! 😊 The black is bold, but the flowers seem to get swallowed by it. The multi-colors are just cheerful and lovely. Arne, so many projects, so little time - the curse of being an artist. ❤ Safe travels and enjoy!
Enjoy London, especially Liberty and a thrift store or 2 or 3 for Arne!!! Be careful of pick pockets, they are supposed to be quite a problem now... Don't carry your phone in your back pocket.
I'm now using turned in her slippers rather than kicked the bucket!!! Love from NC, USA
I like the black background but don't like working with black yarn...lol I'm just going over to Kate's channel now to hear about the cruise, have a wonderful time in London !
Ohoooo! The look on Carlos' face when Arne said he wanted to make a miniature version of your house is priceless ! I love Liberty fabrics. Also, like the bright color crochet flowers.
I like both, but I would have to buy the black yarn. Or I could use white. Loves your sakfab. Dont stop, but dont stress to make them.
I prefer the crochet blanket with a cohesive color between the flowers, but black wouldn't be my first choice.
Always enjoy you both!! Been watching almost from the beginning!!
I love all your stories… some so funny!! Remember the time you told us about the King and Queens photo in the bathroom!? Safe travels!!
The black looks like the flowers are floating…
This is a great episode, so entertaining. I like starting new projects: it’s my favourite thing. 😂 I do occasionally finish a project too though. Do What You Love .
😍
Beautiful! I prefer the black background for unification, The lighter one looks a little too scrappy for my taste because it lacks contrast. However, I think ANY unifying background color is helpful in creating a unified look, whether dark or light, high contrast or low contrast. I just really like the scrap flowers to pop or gracefully blend into a background. Love you guys!!
I'm knitting a pair of socks with a first try at a partridge heel. Love the look of it but challenging for me. Four rows to it as opposed to a two row short row heel I've done for years. Love this podcast! I can't wait for the patterns.❤
LOL! Yes, deep, deep breaths Carlos! To many great ideas.
Poor Carlos! Arne will always be starting new projects.
I like colorful one best. Thank u
Wonderful Sit and Knit as always! You guys are awesome and thank you so much for sharing. So much inspiration. Enjoy London - hope you got a chance to go and see the Yayoi Kusama exhibition - went with my daughter a couple of weeks ago it was fab. Loving the doll’s house renovations. I need to up the game on our dolls house windows!!!! I feel a trip to Liberty coming on! 🥰
love the colorful one. they look like they are 2 different designs.
I like the colorful one, the best
I love the colorful one best. The flowers are so pretty!
So funny watching the two of you discuss starting a new project vs finishing several ongoing ones. You always make me laugh.
Luv luv your channel🇨🇦
My niece sent me a Flat Stanley to take on adventures in Michigan and then return him with pictures and trinkets from my state. She lives in Texas. It was so much fun!!
Colorful one the best 🇺🇸💜 veteran
Really love this episode! You are giving me so much inspiration for my new little condo in Reno, as well as finishing up the renovation of my current house. It was wonderful to see you both again last night at Jimmy Bean’s; just sorry we were too late to get into the class.
I like the black background. The flowers really stand out. Thank you for your inspiration.
You are welcome!
Love the colorful one the best.
Tak for jer to skønne mennesker🙏 Det er altid en stor fornøjelse at se hvad i finder på 🥰Arne jeg er enig med Carlos, nu må vi snart se noget af det du har lavet færdigt🤗
You have inspired me to use tapestry wool to make a blanket :)
You are like me, I keep organizing and organizing my stuff. But when I do a project, I pull things out from every where, then have to organize again!!
I love the colorful one.
Both options are beautiful. However, what about a blanket using both the black and the mixed colors? For example, make the background with the black and incorporate the mix colors into a pattern on top? Inspiring!
I like the colorful one!
I like both samples. The colorful is softer. You’re inspired me to learn how to crochet 👏👏💕💕💕🌸🌸🌸
I've been collecting William Morris fabric for years. I should make a quilt with mine!
Yes! A great idea, they will make a beautiful quilt
Yes! The scrappy look is so fun to look at 😃
Black😊
The hexagons with the many colours would look sooo nice on a white background. Almost like the quilt pattern 'Grandmother's garden'. Love it!
Great video! When will we start seeing the pajama gardeners again? You can show us the progress on your extension too!
Hahaha, Carlos deep breathing because Arne has so much inspiration! Fortnum & Mason and Liberty in real life? How fun!
Both are lovely but the solid border really allows the flowers to shine!
Thank you for a jam packed episode! And for sitting in front of the window with a sign over it that says, “Do What”. I started out thinking it says “Do What You Love”, until Arne started talking about making a replica of your house, then I thought it must say “Do What?!?!” 😂
That Liberty fabric is beautiful, and you have so much of it, I think it should be a shirt for you, not curtains for the dollhouse. And it’s looking like the dollhouse needs an extension to house all the stuff you want to put in it!
I like both options for the crocheted flower project. The black feels more traditional to me, but the colorful one is more like Dolly Parton’s coat. Either one will be beautiful.
I hope you will do another garden tour next year. I would love to go on one.
Do What You Love! ?
Oh to win Lotto and be able to just pop over the 17, 638 km to Norway from New Zealand to join one of your cruises! 😂
And then I just hear you say about the Antarctic cruise! Well, I truly know how a good southerly direct off the antarctic feels like! LOL
My grandmother did them in black but I prefer the colorful one..❤
I like the scrappy background on the afghan best.
❤❤❤
I like the coloured one, your book looks fantastic, you have to have a croqhering course i need to learn to crochet
I love your material design that you are going to be doing with Louise and Irene i buy lots of there material and also from the cotton patch in Birmingham they sell a lot of Lewis and Irene fabrics xxx
Thank you so much. We are very excited about the collection!
Thank you so much for finding the time to continue Sit and knit for a bit.
Great video! Thank you! Maybe the embroidery lady stopped working when she realized her stitches weren't twisted... 🤷♀ The thought of "I need to start over and fix this" killed her 😜
