In this video I unbox the newest fragrance from Louis Vuitton, California Dream, share my first impressions and compare it to last year's Les Colognes collaboration with the same designer Alex Israel (Afternoon Swim, Sun Song, Cactus Garden). That bottle and packaging is sooo pretty! Surprised that the scent isn’t light and fresh considering the packaging.

It’s very light don’t listen to everyone I hope you tried it
When I first got California Dream, I couldn't stand it and sent it to my mom. I just didn't understand it especially in relation to the rest of the summer line. It felt too musky. But I received a sample with another order months later and just for kicks tried it again and then began to understand it. It's such a unique scent that I'll be thinking about and have to go spray. I ended up re-buying a bottle for myself and now love it :)

And also my husband stayed in California for half a year and he loves it. I'm getting ready to do blind buy of this product, but on that same note, I'm going to take your advice and get the 2ml sample of this as well. I'm not new to the scent game, but this purchase will be my first in the "high end" market of scents kinda sorta. I do have D&G One Royal Night, and Mysterious Night. It took some searching before I could find it at a decent price, but I'm spreading my wings with this. I've seen two other reviews of this product, but out of those, I like yours better. I'm going to get California Dream, and as my samples, I will get the same in the 2ml as stated earlier and as you suggested. The other two will be Meteor, and Afternoon Swim.
I bought this the other. I instantly fall in love with the scent when I tried it in store. Unfortunately, when I tried it at home, the scent does not last long at all considering it’s a parfum. I’m really disappointed and I can’t return it anymore. I was not given the option of trying the sample first. I have hueres d absense and I absolutely love it. Now I have learned my lessons to try their samples first before buying it. Btw, I love watching all of your videos.
Omg I sampled it yesterday and it’s so fresh and citrusy 🤩 I love the bottle it’s so pretty. I wish I asked for a little sample 😭 I’m so turned off by buying another perfume because I bought one and barely used it and the spritzer doesn’t work as well anymore and they couldn’t replace the part so now it just sits 😞
Oh noo! When you refill it they replace the top so maybe you can try to decant it into another bottle and get a refill? They should replace the spray though if it's defective! Try to get a sample - even the tester is so cute =)
I just got it yesterday - since it's unisex (I'm a guy) and thank goodness I tried the sample first. It smells really great, but my issue is with the projection and the longevity. I love the initial burst of mandarin, but it kinda wears off a little too quickly (at least on me). I am going to return it for Afternoon Swim. I should have gone with my instinct, that's really the only summer scent they have that I LOVE, but I ordered California Dream since there is a lot of hype around it. Everyone's skin is different - it might work on ya'll but for me, I feel like I have to literally get near my arms to smell it, whereas, Afternoon Swim, I can smell it on myself all day.
Great choice - Afternoon Swim is my most complimented LV fragrance! California Dream is nice but I like the packaging slightly more than the fragrance itself lol 🤗 Thanks so much for watching, enjoy your new fragrance 💙

I ordered California Dream online so I'm sad that I didn't get this bag! But I hated the fragrance at first, now I still don't like it but it reminds me of a stronger version of the Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue. My husband and my boys love Afternoon Swim...smells amazing on them, but on me it smells like a trash can...and they all agree. lol!! My fave is Cotre Moi!!
I love Afternoon Swim! This definitely smells like a spicier D&G Light Blue. If you go in the store they may be able to give you the matching bag 🤗

I got the California dream as a sample from my Ca when I bought the Alma Bb over the weekend. I like it but I do find it a bit stronger than I thought.

I'm happy you did this review! I just purchased this perfume.. my SA sent me a sample along with other samples as well. I wanted to try it before opening the package (in case i want to return) I 100% agree with you...i wish it was a bit lighter.. and I do like the packaging!!! I'm tempted to keep it for the bottle..lol 😆 I received it yesterday..i initially didn't like it, but later in the day; I kept smelling it..& then I really liked it 😳 Have you worn it for an extended amount of time yet? Would you recommend I keep it (not a fan of musky 😬) Help! Lol.. Great video love.. I'm thinking about "Afternoon Swim".. that's my fav too! I think i really just like the name of the perfume and the bottle.. so cute! ❤❤
LOL I wore it out all day for the past few days, including out to a vineyard and running around doing outdoor activities with my kids, and the scent is growing on me! It’s very strong initially but smells better after it dries down and lasts longer than my other LV fragrances. I still prefer Afternoon Swim so if you only want one and it’s a choice between the two then I recommend Afternoon Swim - unless you want California Dream just for the bottle then yes bc I’m an enabler 🤣💞💙

I saw this video in the beginning of June didn’t know it was you. You’re correct on the lively but short lasting afternoon swim . And to me California smelled like beach mixed with suntan lotion . So far l’immensite is the for me. What would you say without be a blind but for my daughters bday next week?
Afternoon Swim is my fave from LV but unfortunately it doesn’t last long so I usually overspray 🤗 She might like Rose De Vents, or Attrape-Reves if she likes vanilla sweet scents - those are probably the most popular LV fragrances for women. Happy early birthday to her 🎉

I just bought this and I LOVE it but my one complaint is that it’s not strong at all! Funny how it lays different on different peoples skin!
Does it last long on you? I received the sample but i feel like after a few hours it fades away and I had to reapply again. For the afternoon swim, I shower with it too and I don’t mind at all. I’m halfway done. Thanks for sharing 😉
Yes it lasts sooo much longer and needs the least amount of sprays as any of my other LV fragrances! I have to be very light handed with it. But Afternoon Swim is still my fave 💙🥰 Thanks so much for watching!
