I love this one! Sweet juicy pear and mandarin. The pear really sold it for me. It didn’t really hit a brick wall or change a lot for me like it did to your nose. It stayed pretty fresh and sweet for most of its life. I did get the metallic nuances and it dried down to a sweet musk with benzoin. It lasted a little over 5 hours with pretty good projection for about 2.5 hours. Going to get a bottle before summer comes!
I like California dream, I like the presentation and the smell isn’t overwhelming. my perfumes are usually jo malone or atelier cologne , so very mild but this has just the right amount of subtle but distinct. Fortunately I just dropped into the Louis Vuitton at Bloomingdales and grabbed it
I just got California Dream yesterday - since it's unisex (I'm a guy) and thank goodness I tried the sample first. It smells really great, but my issue is with the projection and the longevity. I love the initial burst of mandarin, but it kinda wears off a little too quickly (at least on me). I am going to return it for Afternoon Swim. I should have gone with my instinct, that's really the only summer scent they have that I LOVE, but I ordered California Dream since there is a lot of hype around it. Everyone's skin is different - it might work on ya'll but for me, I feel like I have to literally get near my arms to smell it, whereas, Afternoon Swim, I can smell it on myself all day.
This reminds me of 3 fragrances: Creed Jardín D’ Amalfi, Le Labo Another 13 and Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. I smell CD first, then I rotate sniffing the bottles of the other 3. I love this one but I can’t find a reason to purchase it because I own the other 3 fragrances. You have taught me quite a bit in your videos. I love your teaching and appreciate you sharing your knowledge. 😊
Totally agree with it. After spraying this fragrance I feel there are razors in my nose. After 1 hour it get’s better, but only slightly better. A shame, also expected more. The only 10/10 of this fragrance is the bottle...
Hey Sebastian, I totally got the dual nature of this fragrance and I sort of imagined “what would a sunset smell like?” In that context, the bright to dark makes a ton of sense. I personally loved the warm ambery, musky dry down. Fragrances like this that take a dramatic turn people frequently like either the opening or the base and are disappointed they can’t get a linear version of their preferred part. I’ve really liked all of the LV fragrances. My favorites are Ombre Nomade, Orage, Cactus Garden.
I tried this one and loved it. Didn’t get the sharpening experience you had, it just stays the mandarin and sweety smell on me, but ill wear it again and just be checking how it turns out after some hours

I only have Matiere Noire, a beautiful oriental fragrance,the best from LV in my opinion. I'm sure you would love it! And i definitely have to try Nuit de Feu when it will be released!
I tested it, I do like it, definately strong opening but I agree that it changes into a more sweet/musky smell (very pleasant). Wish the opening mandarin lasted more. Overall I like it. Definately these LV are becoming signature to your chanel, have not see any others look into them and they are pretty good!
Best to worst California themed LV fragrances are: 1. Cactus Garden 2. Afternoon Swim 3. Sun Song 4. California Dream. (Oddly enough it felt like I was wearing cotton candy. Yuck).

I've had the same experience with Divin' enfant by État libre d'Orange. The start and dry down complety different from a spicy tobacco to a sugary marsmallow. Freaking weird! Nice review. 😊

Reminded me of mugler cologne with better performance which I like but mugler is a 35$ fragrance

Smell similar to chanel blue, but it alot smoother with no smoky and woody, but the vipe is really like chanel, i do pick up grapefruit in here
