Hi Dena, Thank you for all of the videos showing your travels and stitching. I always enjoy seeing all that you are stitching. And a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎂🎁🎈 Happy stitching.
So sorry to hear about Fred but love that Cocoa gave comfort to his caregiver. It would be fun to see your husband and his stitching! Thank you for sharing your travels and stitching. Merry Christmas to you and your family.🎄🎄🎄🪡🪡🪡
WOW!!!! What fun it was traveling with you! thank you for letting us join you on your cruise. I loved seeing your stitching everyday and all the pretty outfits you have. You must have been the best dressed lady on board! My heart hurt for the lady that lost her puppy, but mostly for Cocoa!!!! i felt so bad that you weren't there to love on her as she hurt for her friend. So happy you have such a caring dog sitter. We don't have a dog sitter and can't board her so we don't travel. We built a house instead!! Thanks Dena for your videos, i have enjoyed being your stitching friend via youtube!!
Well your stitching is beautiful. Glad you made new friends as well. I have always said that you see the silver lining in everything. Such a positive outlook in life. Fred’s parents must be devastated. It’s so painful losing a faithful companion like that. My heart goes out to them and Cocoa. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Thx for thinking of us and making these videos.
Yes, it is tough to lose such a great pet. Thanks for watching the travel and stitching videos. I find it such a privilege to share my stitching with other like minded crafters. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Dena
Angela, thanks so much for the kind words of sympathy for Cocoa and Fred's family in his passing. It will be interesting to see how she does when she goes back there in April. Dena
You go girl!! love it that you’re teaching your husband to Crosstitch. Look out you guys might be a two household stitcher. You know how Crosstitch is addicting. I hope he gets on and shows us his finished piece. That would be lovely.
Afternoon Dena, I have spent a whole morning/afternoon watching all 3 of your trip. I was stitching along so I did get a fair bit done, though that wouldn’t match your successful stitching on holiday. Your holiday looked fabulous a real special time xxx
WOW, what a trooper you are to watch all three back to back. Thanks so much for the kind words and I am so happy you got some stitching accomplished as well. Dena
Glad you had a nice vacation. It was fun to go along with you. Thanks for taking the time to share it. It was so sad to hear about Fred. My heart breaks for Cocoa on the loss of her best friend. It’s a good thing Cocoa was there to have one last time with Fred.
What a wonderful trip y'all had! Thank you for sharing it with us. You saw and did so many things plus got some stitching in. So so sad to hear about Fred. It's tough losing a beloved pet, and Cocoa lost her friend. 😢 Congratulations on your finishes. Take care. Merry Christmas to you and Tommy and Cocoa. ❤
Such a great trip! Thanks for sharing with us. Great progress on your temperature tree. Looking forward to seeing your husband's great accomplishment! So sad to hear about Fred. I hope his family was able to take some comfort in having Cocoa there with them.
Thanks Emjay for visiting again and for your interest in our stitching! I still haven't been able to get my hubby on the video, so I guess I'll have to show his finishes for him. LOL. Dena
Dena I am so glad you and Tommy had such a lovely trip! It was very sad about Fred, but I agree with you it was a blessing that Coco was there with the sitters to help then through the initial shock. Merry Christmas!
Dena - what a dream vacation you & Tommy took! So happy for you guys to experience that! Def a bucket list for me as have always wanted to travel to Europe during the holiday season to see the various Christmas Markets as well as taking a Transatlantic Cruise! Such beautiful stitches as well! Sorry for the loss of Fred .. hopefully Coco will meet a new BFF soon to make more happy memories with! Still catching up on Floss Tubes as got so far behind during the holidays as I went on a Eastern Caribbean Cruise the week of Thanksgiving. Thank you for taking us along on your Cruise! Happy Stitching!
I hope you had a fabulous trip to the Eastern Caribbean! Tommy and I are going back there this December. We try to cruise at least once a year. It is our favorite type of travel. And I love all the stitching time! Happy Stitching. Dena
@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 we had a fabulous time! A friend, my sister and niece, went with me. We totally surprised my niece, a freshman in High School, with the cruise! We had been planning the trip for several months but didn't tell my niece until a week or so before that she was coming to FL the week of Thanksgiving. We waited til she got to FL when we told her abt the cruise which was a couple days before we sailed! It so much fun! Her mom my younger sister passed away from colon cancer abt 3 1/2 years ago & now my older sister is raising her. This was the 2nd cruise we took her on as we all went on an Alaskan Cruise the year after her mom passed. She loved both cruises but she really has opened up & become more adventurous this time. She tried out paddleboarding & fell in love with it & was able to do it a 2nd time at another port. We saw so many instances of her mom throughout as her mom loved cruising with us too! Such great memories were made! It def is my favorite mode of travel/vacation also! I was able to get a lil stitching done as well along the way. ☺ Have a great week!
Kathy, what a great idea to surprise your niece. I am so glad she had a great time. It must be very bitter sweet to see so much of your sister in her. I am very happy you even got some stitching in while traveling. Wishing you a great month of February! Dena
@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 it truly is. Emma has so much of her mother in her, especially Kim's sense of humor. Sherri & I are often telling Emma that she is sooo a mini-me of her mom! Hope you have a month full of great stitching & no frogs! 🐸
Hi Dena, welcome home! It was so much fun hearing about your vacation and seeing your progress on your stitching. So so sorry you hear about Fred. Merry Christmas! Happy stitching! Lori
Lori, thanks so much for watching the traveling videos! It is good to be home and I have been having fun stitching on my big Christmas projects this week. Have a wonderful weekend. Dena
Oh Dena,I'm so happy that your cruise is going so well and you are having great adventures. I'm so sad to hear about Fred, on trying to type this with tears flowing. Cocoa will help them thru this, she is an angel to take them through their sadness. Dogs know when there is something strange happening, such a sense of emotions. Prayers for Freds parent's. Have a wonderful rest of your cruise.
Linda, we did have a wonderful rest of our cruise and a safe trip home. Cocoa was very clingy for a few days but is now back to normal. She will open her presents later today once her Daddy gets home from his run and we have lunch. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! Dena
Oh Dena I was so sad about Fred. I still have tears in my eyes thinking about Cocoa losing her best friend. Giselle is in my thoughts and prayers. I think the older we get the more sentimental we are. Our fur babies are soooo much a part of our lives and we are devastated every time we lose one but the reality is they do go before us. I read a beautiful quote that went “Dogs make our lives whole but we are their whole life”. How true. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful vacation with us. I have loved every minute and well done on all your stitching and finishes. x
Susan, my husband often says that Cocoa is totally dependent upon us for her shelter, food and her mental and physical stimulation as well. She only gets to go outside for walks or hikes or play time if we take her so we have to be diligent to make many opportunities for her. He is so good about that. I am grateful he partners with me to be a great puppy parent. Dena
Susan, thank you so much for the gift certificate! I went shopping this morning and picked out some patterns! Thank you so very much for your generosity! Dena
I am so sorry to hear about sweet Fred passing. I am sure she was so sad but also a great comfort to her. Pet sitters . Isn’t it wonderful to have such a wonderful loving and loyal friend as a fur baby. My sweet girl Ari is my best girl and I am her person…. I am so glad you had such a wonderful trip and made it home safe and sound.
We had a wonderful time, but it is always so good to be home. I have enjoyed stitching on my Christmas projects since arriving home and am looking forward to spending some special time with family over the next few days. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Dena
You're traveling and stitching episodes have been such fun. So very sorry about Fred, very glad Cocoa was there to comfort them. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
I’m so sorry for your pet sitter breaks my heart. And I am so sorry for Coco cause she lost her best friend. Animals grieve people don’t believe that but they do. And I’m glad that Coco is there to help ease the birding of his passing and they’re there for each other and yes, you have a wonderful dog sitter!
Patti, Cocoa has been very clingy since we've been home. She just started relaxing a bit today, but my husband and I have been taking her for extra walks and play times. Dena
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas! Your plans for the New Year should keep you on your toes. Your recent trip sounded like a wonderful adventure. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time. I'm thrilled that you got in so much stitching time. I look forward to taking another cruise and taking my stitching with me. Have a very Merry Christmas!
Thank you for sharing your holiday I live about 20 minutes away from Southampton. My husband cross stitches his is so tidy the back looks like the front. It is a way of making him rest. I wish you a lovely Christmas and happy new year . Sue
Sue, my husband said it stressed him out trying to make sure he put the needle in the exact right hole. He was stitching on a wooden pendant so I think it might have been harder, but he did stick with it. Dena
Awwwww Dena my heart breaks for Fred's parents and for Cocoa. SO sad that they lost Fred. I am glad Cocoa was there to comfort them. Your trip and birthday looked like it was fantastic other than that sad ending. I love the little sweater that your new friend made for you. its so cute. All your little sweaters on a tree will be so cute.Oh and glad that Tommy got his Anchor and actually finished it himself. That is awesome.Glad to see you are home safe and sound and getting some loving from Cocoa i am sure she is glad to be home too. At least there she doesn't have to wonder where her buddy is. Merry Christmas Dena and Tommy. Happy stitching
Linda, it is good to be home. We had a fabulous trip, but home is always such a comfort after being gone a while. Cocoa was so excited to be home she was jumping up and down at the back door as we unlocked it. She ran like a bullet to her toy box and got her comfort carrot and then wanted us to sit and love on her. We did of course! LOL. Dena
Lynne, thanks so much for the compliment on the blouse. Cocoa is doing great back home with us. She was a bit clingy for a few days, but now she is back to normal. Dena
Thank you TaMara, Cocoa and Fred's parents have been through a tough time. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. I appreciate the congrats on the finishes as well. Dena
Hi Dena! Such a wonderful trip you and your husband had! And I enjoy hearing about your puppy ♡ So sad about Fred. But your puppy kept their minds busy. Would you believe our cats at the shelter have comfort toys. Not all of them. Only a few. Animals surely are family. I've lost a few. Until I'm able to view your next video, enjoy your stitching time 🌷
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. And for the prayers for Giselle and Jeffrey. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Dena
I love your project for your sister! We are going on a Princess cruise for 16 days (I think) in April through the Panama Canal from FL to Los Angeles. I will check out if they have a similar group to what you had on your cruise. Thank you for sharing all your projects and cruise fun!
The group is usually listed as Knitters and Knatters (which means talkers). Once you meet for the first time you will find that everyone agrees to come earlier and stay longer than the published times. LOL. Enjoy your cruise in April. We did the Panama Canal and it was a fabulous cruise. Dena
Thank you for the information! My son bought me a “Little Miss Cross Stitch” sweatshirt for Christmas and I can’t wait to wear it on the cruise to this group meeting. Merry Christmas. I recently found your channel and look forward to your upcoming content.
Hello good to catch up with you again. This past fall I went 2 hours away to see my sister, left the cats for 5 days in the caring hands of my youngest daughter, she said whenever she came into feed them and spend time with them they were like ohhh your not Mom...lol when I got home Patches my youngest cat realized it was me and came running and wanted all the pets lol. Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year Patty
My heart hurts for Giselle and sweet Cocoa, and of course you and your husband. I'm so sad for all of you. As hard as such a loss is and as much as I'm sad for Cocoa, there may be an additional blessing that she was there. In addition to being a comfort to her sitter, she knows what happened to her friend. If Fred had passed when she wasn't there, I think she would have such a hard time wondering where he was on future visits. She may still look for him the next time she goes to stay, but she'll remember pretty quickly and won't spend her whole stay anxiously searching for her friend. It's a small comfort at such a time, but we need every scrap of comfort we can get when we lose our precious fur friends. I'm sending you all hugs and prayers for comfort.
Thank you so much for your insights regarding Cocoa and the loss of her furry friend Fred. Giselle did say Cocoa was such a comfort to her. Cocoa and Fred both slept with Giselle and Jeffrey so Cocoa was still there to cuddle at night. I am thinking that would be a big help as I know I woke several nights reaching for Cocoa while we were sailing. Merry Christmas to you and your hubby! And your fur babies. Dena
Dena, what a beautiful trip you brought us along! Lovely memories you created with your husband. Loved how he ended up doing 2 cross stitch projects. So sorry about Fred. It truly is heartbreaking. Hope your babysitter is feeling less sad. Congrats on your finishes! Let me ask you, what’s the color of the fabric you used for the « Let’s cross stitch, friend? Love the color. Hope you and your family had a Blessed Christmas!

Jean, he hasn't agreed yet, so I am still waiting a bit to see if I can convince him to share. LOL. Dena
Your sister's gift is gorgeous. The fabric you selected is perfect!!!
Thanks so much for the feedback on the fabric choice. I thought it was so fun to use the polka dot fabric on the polka dot project. LOL.

Dena

The fabric I used was Butterscotch Cookies and I purchased it at GaRon Stitchery.com. It is lovely! Dena
Oh, that’s so sad about Fred. I don’t even know Fred and that breaks my heart
I know, it is so sad when anyone losses their beloved pet. I know Cocoa will miss Fred because he was such a great friend to her. Dena
So very sad to hear about Fred!!!
Yes indeed, we were shocked and saddened. Dena
