From Emmy-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and co-creator Derek Haas comes Season 10 of the drama "Chicago Fire." This adrenaline-fueled ride is a look into the lives of Firehouse 51's firefighters and paramedics as they risk their lives to save and protect the citizens of Chicago.

Sam Carver reminds me of the British version of Fireman Sam.
Fireman Sam was originally British, the show was set in a town in Wales, although I do believe they did a dubbed version for the American market

I don’t really like Carver. He doesn’t seem very reliable, especially by his reaction of leaving the criminal in the vent.

More importantly when they got to the roof why didn't they notice a lack of cleaning equipment? But to answer your question all vents aren't made the same, the vents at the other locations were likely wider and he didn't realize this vent was too narrow until it was too late. There is a old Rescue 911 episode where firefighters had to rescue a crook who got stuck going down a chimney when he tried to rob the place.

So, because the victim was responsible for multiple break-ins, Carver just wanted to leave him stuck in there? What happened to the firefighter's sense of duty?
This was the team's first rescue since Stella's return. She was on medical leave after protecting Carver in an explosion. In this clip, he was wrestling with new feelings of guilt over letting her take the blast for him, and feeling protective over his fellow firefighter. His comment "pull her up" wasn't personal against their victim, it was on Kidd's behalf.
