Technically yes firefighters have authorizations to use the lyft bridges in emergencies if anyone obstructs them the person or personnel's will have a problem with officers on scene.
The Bridge Operator CANNOT obstruct any Emergency Personnel (Paramedic, Police Officer, or Firefighter). He was out of line and OUT OF ORDER!!!
@isaacmacdonald6530 well he didn't exactly obstruct them, he just said that he wasn't doing it lol
@@onkeyjoe Same thing. On the scene of an emergency, first responders have legal control over the scene and any on-hand assets needed to resolve the situation and save lives. That means that for this emergency, he didn't work for DOT like he thought; he worked for them and was insubordinate.

If I am being on honest the firefighters have all right to lower the bridge at any emergency.
Emergency happens and the senior First Responder is in charge of the scene and all assets needed in the area. Including the bridge controls. The operator ignores their orders, and the victim dies; the Operator is going to find himself getting booked.
Is it just me or the video is locked at 15-20 FPS?
I know it’s all stuntmen & green screens - but still get butterflies in my stomach seeing severide at the top of that bridge

Fall final was actually pretty good 👍 it had a little bit of everything in it .
However this first big motorcycle rescue by SEVERIDE, SQUAD & 51 was really awesome, and I enjoyed the ending of the episode also. So

bridge worker guy told us exactly how. biker rammed through the barrier as the bridge was raising and got stuck when the bridge rose fully up
I hate that Emma is back. She's my most hated character throughout the whole series 🤬🤬
I don't like Carver. He's keeping way too many secrets from the rest of his team like how he got all those burns revealed in the second episode of the season. Stella might be wrong about him being a screw up but he needs to start telling the truth if he wants to be a better character for the audience.

It's the city. The city will evaluate because the fire department can actually do a lot of things of proved that was to garantee the safety of the city and their habitants. In the most, the guy will get a warning as he doesn't have previous problems
The more likely scenario would be the city suing the bridge guy for obstructing the rescue. Their policies don't trump the CFD's rescue efforts.

Is it just me wondering why they can’t just lower the bridge so he can get up?
It might shake the bike loose and knock him down. They said as much.
Also for better or for worse that bridge person is right, they have strict protocols for a reason and he followed them as he was instructed, call emergency services, keep the bridge stable, and wait for his supervisor before doing anything, should have shown more concern/empathy for the victim, YES! Without question but if he goes against protocol not only could he have serially injured or killed the biker which most likely he would have been held accountable for, but most likely i assume he would loose his licence to operate a draw bridge
This specific situation even if he was at the controls and it went south he’d have a solid case to fight that., but yeah.

I dont understand its an emergency so why the Bridge controller didn't follow Orders of a Firefighter? doesn't it put the company the Bridge guy work for in trouble? it makes no sense to ignore a Firefighter. once they are on scene they are the ones giving the orders to make sure everyone stays safe.
If this was real that guy would be looking for a new job right about now
Hopefully, the firefighters can put their differences aside & DO whatever they've got to DO to rescue the motorcyclist from the roof.
