From Emmy-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and co-creator Derek Haas comes Season 10 of the drama "Chicago Fire." This adrenaline-fueled ride is a look into the lives of Firehouse 51's firefighters and paramedics as they risk their lives to save and protect the citizens of Chicago.

Yes, but technically nothing he did would be considered obstructing emergency services.

In my country stoping or preventing emergency services doing there job can result in a big fine or jail time. I’m totally fine with this law as I know the importance the emergency services play in society.
@@lauraclaire Nobody stopped them from working he stopped on his own. He was not interfering until the one guy instead of helping the patient decided to do something. If he had stepped in between the EMT and the patient that would be something different but he was 20 feet away.
@@josephhodges9819 Actually in the area the show takes place, Chicago, it does violate city code. Going up to emergency services like that, and failing to comply with orders from emergency services on scene would get him in trouble/
I'm an EMT who has literally had to stand in the doorway to keep family members away from the patient my partner was wrestling on the ground behind me, on their own. This is actually pretty tame to how some scenes can be.

Carver did the right thing by confronting the individual keeping him away from the incident.
The officer is also in the right to pull him away from the incident because as far as he's aware that's what dispatch told him. The officer's next job is to take his statement about the "threats" Carver did not make.
Yeah it could've got ugly if they ignored him for too long. He may have escalated to direct interference if he didn't get the attention he wanted out of them
I second that. If there's scene where fire and rescue are at work, we need to stay out of the way.
@@wessltovcarver handled this perfectly, really. Making him back up without a threat nor touching him, just walking up with his arms open and forcing him to back away from the scene.
If anything was a violation, it was the way he was driving behind the truck. Weaving in and out of lanes is a ticket able offense.

@@babd7176 first off let me say that he would have to be nuts to try considering he also workers with her husband. Now that said. I dont think he is. In a more recent episode he was clearly uncomfortable being in the same bathroom as her when she had her shirt part way up as she was putting some cream on a scar on her side to minimize its appearance. The proof in that is he kept looking away from her. If he had feelings for her he wouldnt have done that he would have continued to look in her direction.
One of those guys who has no idea about how emergency response works. That area is NOT a public park whilst emergency services are in attendance.
Do you have the law regarding this? Not an opinion but the actual law.

@@krishnasanyal7 Yes but what I was getting at is there was not obstructing until that guy decided he did not want to do his job. This is an opinion and if people do not like it then they are free to have it.

I cant say for sure but I suspect that the reason we only regularly see Hermann and Ritter representing Engine 51 is because they are the only 2 actors for that company. I suspect the others that we rarely see are made up of whatever actual Chicago Firefighters they have on set that day. The reason I think this is because prior to Hermann taking over as Lt of Engine 51 in season 7 it was mostly mentioned but rarely actual see in action.

Why is it that their are people in the world like this? Maybe if it was a scared/paranoid gradian then maybe i could understand the tailgating but what's happened to society where people have seemingly lost respect for the emergency services and attempt to antagonise them while there in a middle of a medical situation?
I could be wrong but I assume its because people project their ( justified) anger over things like the Uvalde police response onto all "first responders"

Cops are the only first responders I have zero respect for. They are the criminals in our society more so than people you would call criminals.

you might recognize him from other shows. for example, he played a white supremacist a few years back in season 1 of the Rookie(he was the guy who killed Captain Andersen)
His name is Grant Harvey. He's been in episodes of lots of different things. I recently binge watched Bones, so I recognise him from an ep from that.
That actor has been in several shows as guest stars (like The Rookie for example and many others).

I think Olive put him up to it, because Violet talked to her boss. She was on that call. If Carver gets in trouble again, he'll be fired.

Seriously, what is this man’s problem; a teenage boy has a severe looking injury that’s needs immediate attention and this man wants to take up the time berating law enforcement?!
For all we know, that boy could have a broken leg or this man could have prolonged his rescue for longer than it should have taken and would have easily given the teenager an infection, one that could even lead to amputation HEAVEN FORBID it gets inside the leg bone trying to repair itself!!
This man wrongfully blame fire department station for the death of his father. His father died at a wedding fired earlier in the season with burns all over his body they got him out but died later on his way to the hospital. This man Edgar I think heck the fire station throughout the episode and even calls them out after find out who he is. Saying his dad gone and they just go about their lives like they had nothing to do with it. I feel sorry for his lost but I wouldn’t use it as a excuse to verbally torment the fire department that had nothing to do with it.

all they needed to do was get a jack and force the fence up a little to get the leg out, cut that one little bar, bend that bar a little more up or get the leg out without taking out the whole fence.

To be fair it at least more realistic then most other shows. 9-1-1 probably would have had it picture some make believe artery and take the whole fence with them, then Hen do a surgery on it for some reason.

He does get the whole your not only person who lost someone speech and leaves them alone after he gets it. I do feel bad for his loss but it’s not enough of excuses for him to mess with fire department during a rescue.

As a volunteer firefighter/emt, I am cringing at them using a grinder to cut the fence instead of using the JAWS. Especially since the sparks from the grinder are going to cause burns. This is not how we would cut a fence like this. We would just get the JAWS cutters. The JAWS cutters will cut through that fence with no problem. And we would definitely not brake check a driver that is following us. This is not how fire departments would address that situation. They really need some better consultants. Also, we don't carry grinders on our apparatus.
