    As a neurosurgeon, I can tell you that any shot with a high caliber in the "triangle region" of the face would sever the brain stem and cause the victim to die before they hit the ground. In this scene, the female cop was shot in the forehead, which means that she was hit in the brain, meaning she wouldn't have died as quickly as a brain stem entry wound.

With the old, original team, I miss the old Halstead who was badass and had a sarcastic sense of humor like here, and when all the characters were more badass and the action scenes were way, way better! Nah, season 5 was excellent as well, and season 6 too. The final of season six was brilliant. and then the Infection crossover episodes at the start of season 7 were great as well. It went downhill after the start of season 7. Then, they started to change the characters and the storylines became weaker because they forced the police reform theme into the show, they crumbled under public pressure because there was the whole Floyd mess going on in the country back then, and the public openly started to call out cop TV shows for showing brutality, and of course, Chicago PD was famous for it, and so the showrunners/producers and the writers crumbled under the pressure and toned down the whole show, and that was a mistake. They ruined many characters in the process and storylines.

    • @RaymondStarkes
      @RaymondStarkes 3 месяца назад

      @CatoNumbla you and I remember very different season 5s. Sophia Bush left. It left a void in the writer's ability to tell stories. It was extremely evident in their actions of - they gave basically an episode to a character attempting to build character depth to Atwater, Rusek, and Burgess. It failes in my opinion because those 3 had to act and they can ensemble act but they cant carry an episode. Agreed however on the police reform turn. It was the death of the show. It use to be at 10pm everything stopped and i was in front of the tv. Nowadays, i just watch it whenever.

    TV is hilarious.
    Cops know they are being targeted and walk themselves into an ambush, with comms jammed AND they are in a corridor blocked on both sides. If the shooter would have been smarter here he'd have rigged that car...cops are lucky in this case that he didn't.

    Funny how snipers often leave spent cartridges behind, that can potentially be traced back to them. The “sniper’s nest” in the Texas School Book Depository especially comes to mind (today is the 60th anniversary of the JFK assassination).

    The One Chicago shows, especially PD, were absolutely the best, quality-wise, back in the earlier seasons. The writing of the storylines and characters, and thus, also the writing of the couples, was the best during the first six seasons. The golden times of PD will always be seasons 1-6 plus the Infection crossover episodes of season 7, so the start of season 7, but after the Infection episodes, PD went dramatically downhill.
    And especially the first four seasons of PD are the most brilliant, the four seasons of Linstead. Every character was fully fleshed out back then, the Unit interacted with each other all the time, acting like a real team and a family, gathering for a beer at Molly's, the action scenes were f0cking brilliant and way better than today, and the criminal cases were way better written as well.
    Voight nowadays is a very bland character compared to who he was in the early seasons; now he literally almost only pops up in the episodes giving cliche orders to the team and sitting in his office behind his desk, while back then he was a total badass, constantly meeting Chicago criminals to do his masterful dirty games and protect the city, he had family which made things more interesting (Justin, Erin), and he took part in action way more than today on the show.
    Same with Jay: if you rewatch the show, Jay was freaking badass (his fight with the Latin Kings gang member in 1x11 is still the best fight in the Chicago PD history), he had his trademark, sarcastic sense of humor, he was great with Erin, and he had great friendship and banter with both Antonio and Mouse, and with Ruzek as well! And he was absolutely on the same page with Voight by season 3.
    Yet since mid-season 7 the stupid new producers and the new writers came on board, and literally retconned and changed most of the characters and the tone of the entire show. The whole show became toned down and less badass because of the George Floyd case, and the pressure from the public to tone down the show, which they did.
    Jay and Voight in particular became the victims of this change. They started once again writing Jay and Voight fighting when this didn't make sense because Jay and Voight were only getting closer earlier. Then the humor totally disappeared from the show, the show is just dark and depressing now, while back in the early years it was dark and badass but balanced with brilliant humor and lighter scenes (just watch Chicago PD humor videos-edits here on RUclips, you will get what I mean).
    And btw, this is also why the Jay actor - Jesse Lee Soffer - left the show. He said himself, in various interviews, 3-4 years before leaving, that he wanted Jay to become closer to Voight, and he wasn't very enthusiastic about the writers giving Jay yet another workplace romance, but the producers and writers did exactly the opposite of this, so the opposite of what the actor wanted, lol. So no wonder he left.
    My point is, that everything was better on PD during the first six years: couples, writing of the characters, and writing of the criminal cases. And this is why Linstead was the best too: the writing was just in general so much better back then, that the writers actually knew how to write couples and romance. Nowadays it's all dull and ridiculous drama when it comes to most couples. Yeah, they reunited Burzek and now they are finally stable but it took them too long for my taste, like 8 years of back and forth and the longest time when nothing romantic was between them, and them sleeping with other cops on the show (Kim with Roman and Ruzek with Upton) - so, for me, when they finally put them back together it was too little, too late, and I didn't care anymore.
