    ABOUT CHICAGO FIRE
From Emmy-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and co-creator Derek Haas comes Season 10 of the drama ""Chicago Fire."" This adrenaline-fueled ride is a look into the lives of Firehouse 51's firefighters and paramedics as they risk their lives to save and protect the citizens of Chicago.
Led by Capt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), the Truck and Rescue Squad companies are more than co-workers, they're family.
The firehouse includes Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), seasoned veterans Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Randy ""Mouch"" McHolland (Christian Stolte), firefighters Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso), Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) and Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri), and 51's newest addition paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
""Chicago Fire"" is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.
Chicago Fire is available now on Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal. Watch thousands of hours of hit movies and shows, plus daily news, sports, and pop culture updates. Stream now on Peacock.

Props to the kid for being suprisingly calm during the whole thing. Especially considering the fact that his FINGER was cut clean off. I'm 22, and I'd probably be screaming my head off.

That boy during audition: "I'd do anything to get my hands on a PS5".
That boy during the scene: "They didn't tell me that I have to put my hand into a running snow blower!"
That boy after the shot: "Still not enough for a PS5."

My dr lost his finger to a snowblower. It was a nub left, and to test our knee reflexes, he would use his nub 😅 it worked!

Shock does crazy things to people. I've seen a lot of crazy things happen when someone goes into shock. Some laugh, some cry and others go numb.

Shock is a powerful thing. I once saw a kid of I'm guessing 12 have their foot severed and have no reaction.
The greater the pain the more likely someone is to go shock numb.
So while its likely a child actor not really delivering so to speak there is a medical explanation on the matter.

I know it’s just a show, but that’s way too calm for someone who just had their finger cut off by a snowblower of all things.
Edit: Ok so now I understand that he was shocked which explains why he was calm. So please don’t give me any hate. I’ve never been in any situation like that before, so I apologize if I sounded insensitive

In an effort to kindly educate without judging because I can't think of a good reason why you would know what something like that feels like. To sum it up the calm was shock which is very common with traumatic injuries like this. My boyfriend works as a dispatcher and I've worked in EMS long enough to know that with a traumatic injury like this the reaction of screaming is typically going to be a more dramatic person. He's not feeling the pain yet because he's in shock. Again I'm not judging because most people wouldn't have any reason to know what that's like. I wish people would understand that educating does more for a person than judging and criticizing.
