First, I truly appreciate what you are doing here as far as introducing different Persian music styles to the world. Secondly, just wanted to add that the artists who emphasize their voice majorly in "dastgaah" and provide "Avaaz" style usually use ancient Persian poems from great poets like Haafez, Rumi, etc. which makes the meaningfulness of the art more significant. (may I ask for "Man 3" from "Tataloo" please?)
18:42 He's singing: *"The tree of sorrow has taken root in my soul* *I bewail to God's court all the time* *My dear ones, cherish one another* *Death is a stone, and man is [fragile] like glass"* It's a quatrain by Baba Tahir from 1000 years ago.
You are one of the greatest RUclipsrs in terms of "reaction". We can see you pay attention to different aspects of the music, vocals, instruments etc. and It makes me happy! Good job
I wish you could understand the lyrics. I am 37 and my father used to play his songs since I remember my existence lol . Master Shajarian kept singing until recently that he got so sick . A real fighter , a passionate artist , a great mentor , and a legend that I barely believe this country might ever see again . Thank you for the reaction Mace and your respect to his art and memory 🌸
You are listening to a legend If he was famous all over the world, people respect him like Whitney Houston, Andrea Bocelli, Beethoven and etc In 1999, UNESCO in France presented him with the Picasso Award and in 2006 with the UNESCO Mozart Medal. In 2017, Los Angeles Times cited him as the "Greatest living maestro of Persian classical music".
That vocalization he does, for example @18:20 is called Tahrir, specific to traditional Persian music. The origins of it is not known but it's thought to have originated from trying to imitate nightingale songs
Please react to " khaneam atash gerefte " from " Mohammad Reza " and " Homayoun " shajarian that is because of a worse earthquake in " Bam , Iran " also two great masters " Hossein Alizade " and " Keyhan Kalhor " are playing music with them. I think it was different from any music that I heard before.
It’s hard to believe he is gone now😭. You will be in our hearts and minds forever. We learned so much from your great personality and your behavior rest in peace master Shajarian 🥀🖤
Well done thanks Nice tribute to Shajaruan an Iranian icon. He did win a chevalier French legion award few years ago for his world contribution plus few more as far as I know
That instrument is kamancheh. Check out Kayhan Kalhor, the master of kamanche. He has a lot of recordings with Shajarian and in recent years with American blues masters
I wish you could understand Persian so that you could get the essence of the song, and see in combination with those unique sounds they're creating, how genuinely spiritual and uplifting it is. It's just that If you understand the lyrics, the effect it will have on you will be times infinity. Gives me goosebumps every single time I watch this.
Sometimes not understand lyrics may be better since you can immerse yourself in the musical instruments and the melodies and the sounds themselves and not be distracted by meanings behind words
I love you man ,I love what you're doing, so proud of your colleague who introduces quality Persian masterpieces. I highly recommend that read the lyrics' so you can feel a deep deep divine peace that makes you cry
