I read Ouspensky's book, In Search of the Miraculous, about 55 years ago and it inspired me to search for and find a Gurdjieff School. This video I found about 1 year ago and it inspired me to create a class called: THINKING AS A SACRED ACTIVITY - exploring the 3 kinds of thinking: Mechanical, Critical and Straight Thinking in the Abstract (a tool I learned from Thane Walker, student of Gurdjieff who founded his own school - The Prosperos School of Ontology).
With heartfelt remembrance and respect for Irmis Popoff, student of Ouspensky and Gurdjieff and teacher of the fourth way, with whom I had acquaintance. My time with her at the 'Pinnacle' remains a lasting inspiration to continue 'the work' everyday in various forms.
I read ISOTM many years ago and enjoyed it - as much for Ouspensky's obvious sincerity as anything - though it did seem very much a book of its time preoccupied with a mathematical, scientific explanation - or at least equivalence - for so called mystical experiences. He wrote a small book on the Tarot which was interesting for its insight into the author's mind and limitations. He always thought Gurdjieff had withheld some vital piece of information - I suspect the piece he could not find within himself. The ultimate truth cannot be communicated.

This is done very well, thank you. I reserve fifty years of judgement, but production, narration , editing, sound, all technical aspects are done well. I didn't know there were video images of Georges.
jerome dragun thank you for your kind words. There was some obscure movie about ouspensky that I used for b-roll, a younger version of me is in this video tho
Yeah, me too. Read Psychology of man's possible evolution in 1972, followed by In search of the miraculous. Then The Fourth Way. A New Model of the Universe, and about a dozen books by pupils of Gurdjieff.
Maurice Nicoll's series of commentaries on the work are quite amazing and comprehensive. I wonder when this school of philosophy will make it into American academia? I feel Ouspenski and Gurdgieff will stand the test of time. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they are studied in a class by themselves. The Forth Way 101 or something. My all time favorite complilation book of Ouspenski's thought is, "Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution".
Interesting idea but from what Gurdjieff would say about this kind of knowledge seems to suggest to me that there will always be an inevitable gulf between the exoteric and the esoteric. Gurdjieff would little doubt state that it would be according to law.
There is no passenger. Whoever would achieve such a state no longer needs the carriage. Such a person would be fully aware of the suffering of those still involved with the carriage. At least, this is what I would imagine of those who have embodied the fourth way.

Ooooooooooooo, that thar Ouspensky boy done bez on some dope. I wonder if he's got any extra??? Watch those Ps & Qs & Ws, Ps surly for sure. A thin sponge in front the microphone will catch the Ps' force. It's all mechanical....I had to type that - truly. Most interesting mini-doc. BTW Does you car start with P? Most cars I know of start with gas ;-D
+Tor Hershman Any chance you could write English? - Btw, cars start by switching on the ignition! - 'Most' cars 'you know of start with gas' ? - No keys to your hot air!
There appears to be authentic footage of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky in this video. And there are other shots that appear to be performed by actors. Some of them are actors, right?
That already happened, came and went. Taught by Harvard Psychologist B.F. Skinner. It was called Behaviorism. Caught on for a while then relegated to the scrapheap of antiquated psychological theories along with Freud's Oedipus Complex.
Sorry for any issues with pronunciation and production, this was an early video of mine. Hope you can over look my mistakes.
We are concerned about the content, it was magnificent. Congratulations. 🙏🕉️🎸

So anything you're looking for from Gurdjieff can definitely be found in this expanded list of platonic/Asian sources?

Both Gurdjieff and Ouspensky surpass any Philosophers from the past.

This would, yes, leave the carriage empty.

It is "TERTIUM Organum," not "TETRIUM Organum," as you consistently mis-pronounce it.
Right ter-tee-um(if you are gonna say it in Latin).
