When people get triggered over the cost, I don’t think they realize how much time you are actually putting into these tedious parts. I’ve also noticed in your videos that you go above and beyond in every step to ensure the nicest most long lasting product possible. People pay these prices because they know that they are getting the best from a master craftsman.
Very true and he looks like he does amazing work. I would pay for a good restoration.
I don't think those people understand work. Seems to me like most of those comments must be coming from either teenagers who haven't yet had a back breaking job, or people who have lived a puffed life. The prices are fair.
I appreciate that you share the cost. Why would people get triggered if they aren’t paying. Crazy. Love your work Steve
Agreed!!! He’s the best!!!!
Exactly right. Good craftsmanship often comes at a higher cost, so if you can afford it, then by all means go for it.
$37.50/yr for the next forty years sounds like an excellent value to me for restoration.
HAPPY New Year Steve!
for about 10 cents a day you can support an LV bag
It will last even longer than the original, so it's a better deal even that that!
38 years and the man still has passion for his briefcase.
Amazing restoration.
jake legg it's why it's always best to pay for quality. Buy cheap & pay twice..... then times that by 38 !!
I do not like things that have a logo all over them. Just my foible, but if I am going to advertise or publicise something, I want to be paid for doing it. But good on you for reviving it not just tossing it.
Another quality restoration "better than new." Thank you for the customer's reaction. I will be proud to know that your work will be seen and admired in this attorney's work place. What a compliment to you and your work !
I love the customers appreciation!!! I also love that he decided to rejuvenate an old piece that only cost him 500.00 to start with but thought enough of it to invest another 1500 to ensure he keeps the integrity of his initial investment rather then toss it and buy a new model (which by the way, LV's have gone all to hell with quality). I own a bag from the 80's that is also in really bad shape but the quality is so different, I keep her for comparison to yesteryear!
Its very upsetting how almost everything is not as nice anymore.... Especially if your paying that much! We need more businesses that actually care about quality!
It looks better than the original design. Great job!!
And probably built better too
@@jeffreygoss8109 yes I agree!
That's not the goal of a restoration it should look the same like the time it was manufactured
Technically, cardboard is wood; so, using the chisel is OK. Very nice. The customer's reaction was very heartfelt. You can tell he liked the restoration. You've got some great customers, Steve.
I have to say Steve, adding those corner patches made it look better than without them. I love how you always go the extra mile for your customers. Sadly, many companies today have forgotten how truly important good customer service is and you my friend take great pride in providing the best experience possible!
I love my local cobbler. Will be sorry when he retires.
You've done so many of these, at this point, you should be on the Louis Viutton payroll...
It seems like you post a lot of your videos at night before some people go to sleep. You are the reason for my sleep deprivation. Great content as always!
4:50 That type of humour keeps bringing me back. I wish I could add 50 upvotes some times. Furthermore, I have skipped ahead watching Steve's videos only to be forced back to watch again to collect the little details that make them special. It is best to sit down, relax, take the time and watch the entire Bedo's RUclips video, don't skip ahead people! Don't miss hammer time. Happy New Year! Cheers.
Re the repair cost, keep in mind there is a strong resale market for LV and Steves quality repairs brings them to a point where the owner can resell it for thousands of dollars. There are people who simply buy old LV at low prices, repair, and resell with big mark ups. Of course Steve should get his fair share of the new market value. Also, to address the point of whether LV wants this or not, yes they do. People pay the original extremely high retail prices for LV knowing it has a resale value, and the used market supports LV's business model in this way by supporting the original retail prices. In other words, yes LV benefits too from Steves work.
What gets me is the cheap materials some expensive designer brands put in their bags. A briefcase that cost $500 in 1982 shouldn't have paper handles. The repair is actually a vast improvement.
Excellent as always, Steve! I "re-watched" the customer's reaction 3 times, he didn't mind waiting 15 months for an awesome job! I think your leather tag with your name/logo belongs inside on the opposite end of the French tag. Imagine 100 years from now someone reading your name as the "restorer." 😅 Happy New Year! 🥂💕
The photo at the end with the Hammer Time T-shirt is priceless!
This was such a feel good video for me with a fantastic ending and an incredibly happy and satisfied customer. I love how you sent the item back to your customer with the note, the cherry on top so to speak. Happy New Year to you all. Stay well everyone.
Great work, Steve! Wow! That is 38 years old and he bought it $500 in 1982. That translates to daily cost of about $0.04 😀.
Just went to the LV site, you can't buy anything that nice for twice the price. That is value. Nice job, Steve.
Well with LV you pay 2/3 of the price for brand name.
You can buy very nice leather bag maybe for 500-800 USD OEM, with LV stamps on it it will be 3 times more...
@@Spazik86 but when this bag was made you were paying for the quality mostly
Maybe Louis Vuitton should take note of your improvements & incorperate them in theiir designs. 👍.
Your machine going through that 1/4 inch leather like it was silk... beautiful restoration! PS: I also like the Orcon utility knives. I have gotten nicked too many times with the big box store retractable because the blade is not held securely. Went to Orcon and never looked back.
You just triggered my laughter.
You are incredibly skilled,I love watching your procedures.
Yet another great restoration job! I loved hearing your customer’s reaction when he received his much loved briefcase. He was so excited to start using it again. Thank you for sharing.
Another satisfied customer! You can see the joy in his face. Happy New Year Steve to you and your family.
And that folks, is why it’s worth every cent of 1500 dollars! Happy New Year Steve from London, U.K.
What exactly is worth 1500? The bag new or the restoration?
The restoration. Not that eye-sore that came from LV
@@TrebleForTheBass I don’t know man, I think 1500 is a bit steep!
1,500 to fix just get a new one wow.
@@mbenjamin292 or don't waste your money and buy LV at all...That's another thought
Here’s how gentlemen do it. Mutual respect after a difficult project and a visibly pleased client...
Just stop by to say Happy New year's. Hope you have a great 2021. Keep doing great repair work and making videos. I personally love how detailed you are and how you take care of your customers. Well like you say;
"IT'S HAMMER TIME".
Let's continue👍.
Watching this video. Great idea. Get you a new shirt made that says.
THE TRIGGER MAN
Its all about sentimental value the 1500 dollars to restore it is nothing, the bag will last the gentleman's life time will bring him happiness.
Well he paid for the name. Now it's time to pay for quality.
That bag is 5 years older than me! 😅
It turned out gorgeous! Love your work, you made me snort with the hammer time til people got fed up with hammering on the table and your customer was adorable! 👍
I am Spanish greetings friend and very good job, happy new year may everything go well , I am Valencian :) ;)
Get so excited whenever you post a Louis Vuitton repair!!! Love your videos, keep it up !
I do leather craft as a hobby and it’s great to see the deconstruction and reassembly. I’ve learnt so much. Thanks for ur dedication in sharing

Wonderful transformation Steve! AND what a great reaction from the owner. Love your videos. Greetings from Adelaide Australia 🦘🇦🇺🦘🇦🇺
So what if the customer paid 1500$, it's less expensive than a new LV briefcase!
Hammertime till someone gets angry 🤣👍👍👍thx Steve best wishes for new year👍👍👍thx for the time.stay safe
Nice. The leather accents really gave new life to that bag. Looks great, Steve! Cheers to 2021!!
That was a cool watch! If I was local I would take out all the ripped stitches for you, I find that relaxing. I like to deconstruct old clothing to make patterns out of them and I love taking them apart. Awesome job on the bag! I love seeing the customers reactions that is so cool.
С НОВЫМ ГОДОМ!!! Здоровья, счастья, любви, работы!😉 Восторгаюсь Вашим творчеством. Пламенный привет из Сибири. -35°С
You're a break from the political bombardment, social discourse, and my dog who seems to be at last days of his life. Thank you for that
Yes from the 80’s it’s amazing love the vintage Vuitton another excellent job lucky person
Quality products and job costs money. The customer is ok to pay for reasons that belongs to him. Nothing more to say.
What a great job, and the customer himself is very nice. A+ work
Steve, I just purchased a bosca leather briefcase, what conditioner would you recommended , Thank you for your response.

Good job,
A craftsman who shows ‘a fail’ and goes into depth of dy-ing leather and proper shades of dyes says a lot. Let the detractors trigger just like you say,
“Let’s Continue”. You are a top notch craftsman and if I sent you shoes I’d know they were done by the best.
Shine on
One of the only channels where I click the like button before I even watch the video. Great content as always!
As always. You never fail to deliver more than expectations. Love and respect. World need more craftsman like Master Steve. Love from India. ❤️
Hi Steve 🙋🏿♀️. This is a beautiful restoration. And the customer was very happy 😊 that's what really matters. Have A great day ‼️. For me it's (5:35) Monday morning. But I just had to watch your video. Bye for now ‼️🙋🏿♀️.✝️🛐☮️💜👍🏿❤️💕. I said it was Monday morning, I've jumped ahead of myself. It's Sunday Morning. LOL 😂😆😆😂.
The Master.... Did I ever tell you Steve ,,,, You can restore anything and, I mean anything!!! “Let’s Continue” 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
When it comes to the importance of an item to the person who owns it, there is not amount that would deter a person from its restoration. Especially from Steve, because those in “our group” do fine repairs! Steve, Can you beam me up with that watch! .....very cool!
Another satisfied customer Uncle Steve! (remember me? Hahaha) I think we a part of a dying generation that actually takes pride in our work. Long after you're gone, these masterpieces will be a testament to your craftsmanship!
$1500 chue Ceres
You deserve much more for this job
I find deconstructing garments to reuse the fabric very calming, I’d love to be able to deconstruct bags like that. Sadly I’d never be able to put them together again (lack of skill, materials and tools).
I’d love to spend a few hours in your workshop Steve, deconstructing stuff for you, especially picking out all the stitches, you wouldn’t even have to pay me. But since I’m in the uk I’ll just have to dream. Is there a specific job do you think “stitch unpicker “
Did you find the screw that fell off your knife while using on the bag?
Yes and I put it back🤣🤣🤣
The client is such a cutie! He even has an, "It's Hammer Time" t-shirt on! Such a dad. Hehe. Great job Steve! That bag was completely transformed! Beautiful. 😍
While some of the cost certainly goes toward the time and labor required to do the job, people don’t take into consideration that you are also being duly compensated for a lifetime of knowledge and experience that you have gained and bring to the job. The old joke about the repairman who walked up to the customers malfunctioning equipment and after a few moments of observation, pulled out his hammer and strategically struck the machine, thereby correcting it’s malfunction. Upon receiving the bill, the customer complained about the cost of what he perceived to be such a simple repair. The repairman replied, “You’re not paying me just to strike this machine with a hammer. You’re also paying me to know precisely where, and exactly how hard to strike it.”
It looks like Louis Vuitton is selling paper bags. I think its pretty telling that a restoration of this bag brings it to a better quality than before :)
Well to be fair, it has lasted 40 years and is as he said at 20:30 that the leather is in great shape. This bag was in still usable condition. That's the definition of good quality.
My dogs go nuts when it’s hammer time. They think someone is knocking on the door. 😆
I started laughing, picturing that!
This is a very time consuming intricate job that only a few could do.... $1500 is not unreasonable when you consider all that goes into it, including materials and so much time... Worth every penny to the customer who wants this bag repaired, properly...! Your customer so much appreciated your work and his finished product, it was so nice to listen to his comments, terrific guy... He's going to be "standing tall" when he hits the court room on Monday... Love this....! Another master piece repair by the MASTER Steveroo...!... Greg
I just watched a video the other day about a man that bought a Rolex in 1964 for 350.00$ and decided not tot wear it because it was just too beautiful to wear and get damaged. It was appraised at watch dealers at 400, 000 to 700,000 at auction
I’ve always wanted one like that but in the epi black leather. I have the pouchette from a 1959 LV suitcase. I’ve always wondered what it would take to convert it
Amazing work on such a great piece of Louis Vuitton. I love your work and how you try to keep all the original pieces of the item. I have a vintage louis vuitton bucket bag what has the French company paper tag still on it.
Hey man that's a chisel! what do you thing ya doing, its for wood only!!!! - great vid, love watching your passion.
Let the bells fly and the banners ring oops got that wrong I’ve got to pay attention to details? You are the master! Right now you have just finished the handles and now the ads are over enjoying hammer time the sound is better on the leather though. Done already where did the time go? How many watches in your collection enough or not enough?👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍1982! great reaction video love the last image thank you 🥳✨🌟✨🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🌅🎆🔨🔨🔨🔨🎊🪄🪄🪄♥️🔔♥️🚩♥️
Tell Complainer Guy you are using "silver threads and golden needles" to do the repair!
He man how dare you ask money for your work. You should work for free . Hahahaha its amazing how people react on your work. Quality comes with a price 1500 dollar for 40 years thats 37,5 dollar a year for a louis vitton thats cheap.great job Bedo.
Never could understand why people buy Lousy Vuitton stuff, overpriced pile of garbage, Seeing LV or whatever brand makes them blind.
You can ask wich price you wish there are always people how wil buyit. I saw once people sellinga box of chocolade very cheap nobody would buy it, then the reased the price and some people bought it and then the price reased very expensieve and there was a queue for the box of chocolade it was at a fair trade market as experiment People think when its very expansieve then it will be very good . Its all marketing . Steveits handles on the bag are 500 times better then these of LV wich are made out of paper and thin leader.when you buy at Bedô you good for your money your not ripped off.
@@magomat6756 In German you have a saying: Wenn es nichts kostet dann ist es nichts wert.Translated it means: If it's for free or cheap it's not worth muchor is no quality. It's all in the perception of people.
The customer reaction was great, loved seeing that. Happy New Year from Manchester U.K
If it comes to price, people don’t realise few things. This product will hopefully be used for around 100 years for a total of $2k. That is $20 per year, super cheap, super environmentally friendly and what a legacy. I’m sure this case will be used by his children, fantastic!
Great project, I found the cost of talent is in relation to the finished job. Secondly nice watch. It seems your collection of watches compares to mine.
i love these! Why ever get rid of designer bag? LV is about to do yet another price hike soon. Pay Steve to make yours better than new - makes sense to me! What an artist you are, Steve. Happy New Year! And I like your watch - very cool, sir, very cool!
Steve gets home at night and switches over from hamma time, to pajama time.
And counts his money!
$1500 is a lot for a work briefcase. 💼 I could see it more going towards a repair of a purse, luggage or shoes. It's not my money so whatever makes somebody happy!
One thing I know for sure, if I ever want my bag to be restored or fixed you're the only one who may lay hand on it. 😏👍
Let's continue! 💫🤟
Another absolutely amazing job Steve and the customers reaction was wonderful, it’s been said a million times you truly are an absolutely amazing craftsman, please keep those videos coming, happy new year to you and your family , let’s hope 2021 is wonderful best wishes from sue and andy j Reading England 🏴❤️xx
Another job well done !! Happy customer again!! Yesss!!! It is beautiful !!
Great job Mr. Steve!!!! Let’s continue!!!!!
Briefcase 💼 literally brought back to life. Definitely did a good job on handles and corners 👍.
You are not only an artist, but your voices Crack me up. 😂
Impeccable work. the absolute joy on the customer’s face was amazing
“$1500 man, what are you doing, stitching it in gold thread?” 😂 🤪❤️...great work Steve!
Wonderful, just wonderful. If everyone were as passionate and caring as you, the world would be more peaceful and better. This video contained everything we love: the complainer’s voice, a little hammer time, humor, and the grateful customer’s reaction.
That's a great customer reaction! One of these days you might get a jokester who will give you some funny reaction saying how terrible it is or that it's all wrong, just to bust your chops, but it's hard for people to hide their excitement at getting their treasured item restored.
What an awesome job you did! The customer reaction was awesome, it really shows how much he values your work. The pictures at the end in the shirt too - how cool!
I love your watches. That is the craziest watch, yet! Awesome.
Another fabulous restoration on what is now a great looking briefcase, the sheer joy it brought to your customer, thanks for sharing :)
Great job Steve! You are a master craftsman! Loved the customer’s reaction video too!! Totally worth the price for all the work you did!!
I am truly amazed at how Steve resurrected my vintage, one-owner LV briefcase. As I told Steve, I've had it since 1982. I remember driving up to San Francisco in my Porsche 928 and staying at the Fairmont on Nob Hill. After speaking to a group of investors, my associates and I walked down to Union Square. It was there that I saw the LV briefcase. One of my people urged me to buy it. I did. Today, I am the proud owner, again, of that beautiful briefcase. Thanks, Steve! P.S. I'll send you pictures of myself, along with several of my Managing Associates from my firm, in front of Pasadena Courthouse.
Very cool
That watch illegal in New Jersey!!
I started watching shoes because meh, I know nothing for shoes...but I wear them. So I kept watching
I started watching bags and said "WTF?" I know nothing for bags, I'll never use bags...yet I keep watching.
Thanks Bedo!
I've been watching this channel for more than half a year now, I love the work and would love to do similar things like this in the future. Thank you for keeping me entertained during the quarantine
He's a lawyer. No wonder he's spending 1500.
Haha, you know you've made it on RUclips when the critics and hecklers find you.
I love his reaction 🥺 he really values this bag and was looking forward to getting it back. I wish you a healthy new year. Please continue making people happy ❤️
Another beautiful restoration Steve. Love your sense of humor. I have noticed that people just don’t appreciate the fact that you get the level of work you are willing to pay for. I am always willing to pay up if I know I am getting quality work.
Awesome job 👏 👍 🙌 Happy new year to you and family.....Let's continue....
Uhuuuuuu!!!!! I gave de fist like
All right, let's continue!
I do not know the cost of these items, however I have some items that I would pay a lot to preserve.
The handles are a "cameo" in this master work leather restoration. So much better than original. Should last another lifetime at least. You really have an honest approach to doing these videos and we can see all the arduous messy work that you work through and you still, "keep your eyes on the prize."
You do such nice work. Lots of hours go into each step. You should be very proud!
That's a fine rebuild effort Steve.
As for that blotchiness you showed on the piece you'd airbrushed with dye. Have you tried using Neetsfoot Oil on the leather prior to application of the dye? When doing my leather work, I've had very good luck with that process. The moistened fibers (with the oil) help the dye to flow better and appear more consistent in coverage.
Happy New Year to you Steve.
I’ll try but the problem might be the color not being consistent
Indeed, it's nothing more than an over priced effort job
