Thanks National Geographic for the documentary on our biggest festival 'Durga Puja'. However, Durga puja is a festival of 5 days which starts from 'Mahasasthi' and ends with 'Bijaya Doshomi'. Sasthi doesn't mean 6th day of durga puja, it means the 6th day of the moon cycle. Now, although it is celebrated more than 10 days, the puja rituals are still for 5 days. Even surprisingly, the actual puja starts from 'Mahasaptomi' after the 'Bathing of Kolabou', not even from 'Mahasasthi'.

And the dedicated guarding by Kolkata police, WB police and civic volunteers just creates another mark as the crowd everytime is very much dense iykyk. Hence, it's the biggest festival ❤

Finally the UNESCO recognition is working, people are acknowledging Durga pujo, understanding the scale and art, the celebration. Finally people are realising there is India beyond only Diwali, Dusherra, Navratri & Ganesh Puja. Nway it is not like we need any validation from other Indians but it feels nice this way - otherwise for a Bengali, staying outside Bengal, is always like fitting in with Diwali, Dusherra, Navratri & Ganesh Puja celebrations in localities, housing societies, offices & schools. Sometimes it does get boring, uninspiring, like having ice-cream, but not your favourite flavour. Praying for more development & jobs for the state so that people don't have to fit-in far away and adjust throughout their lives... and enjoy his/her favourite ice-cream.

Muslim are also involving this Puja. There are lots of famous Muslim Puja Pandel like MD.ALI PARK, 25th Pally, Khidirpur Sarbojonin etc. Moreover this festival is for everyone. No hate only Love.
Nowhere in the world can you find a religion where the place of worship has the God of another religion at the top of the structure! It was really nice seeing Jesus on top of the Durga Puja pandal! Haha, this is the beauty of India. Stunning!
