Happy Monday evening guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! The fully electric BMW i7 may be polarizing to look at, but it has an interior and driving feel that will truly wow most buyers. Just be sure to get one with a good wheel/tire combo as you can see, this one with these smaller 19" winter wheels makes this car look rather unfortunate.
BMW has always done a good quality and well designed interior I feel, I just don’t think I can get over the new exterior design, though. If I drove a car with this price tag I want to be able to enjoy looking at it from the outside, too
The previous generation G12 7 Series looked even better than this G70 generation. Like what is that front end? I mean.... I get that BMW is trying to make it looks modern, but, it really doesn't have the presence that the previous G12 generation had to me at least. And God knows that the E38 7 Series is the best one out of them all, in terms of looks and presence. You look at this and you look at the E38 7 Series, you wonder what has happened to the design team over at BMW.
I think they want to appeal to a new demographic, or start a new signature look for their cars. Whatever it is it definitely isn't the same team that designed the M3 or literally any other decent BMW ever.
I actually like the smaller wheels. If for no other reason then it would have a softer ride because of the larger sidewalls. Also less prone to getting messed up by potholes.
A purely lease machine. Sure, it’d seem outrageous to pay like $1.5k/month for 24 months but still a better & less stressful option than buying this future junk.
Man, BMWs used to be so classic and beautiful looking, especially the 7 series of old, they are now consistently among the most awkward, overwrought and hideous cars out there. Other than a couple of 4 and 2 series coupes which certainly will be redesigned to this new design language, the marque has lost its way.
Yeah we are far from the days of the design team who designed things like the E38 7 Series, the E36, E46, and E90 3 series, the E39 5 series, the F82 4 Series, the previous generation 2 Series. All those cars, phenomenal in terms of looks and presence. Anyone who drives any of those older BMWs that I mentioned still looks good in them today. My only real favourite modern BMW are like the G20 3 Series (not the G80 M3) and the current G30 5 Series (which includes the F90 M5).
I think this is iDrive 8 now, not 7? Looks like a sweet ride though! Do the doors have sensors not to knock stuff? I can tell you the auto open of all 4 doors was obvious at the Chicago Auto Show and was really easy for people to get in and out of....
The stated range for these vehicles are submitted to EPA by the OEMs with OEM's using their own testing methods. For example, Tesla in real life 70 mph highway testing, consistently does less range than other EVs with far lower stated range. The BMW i7 actual range is more than any Tesla models, including Tesla's longest stated range -Model S long range.
Good review. One suggestion: when filming trunks/frunks make sure your lens isn't pointing into the sun. I couldn't see the trunk of this i7! Park the car so the sun isn't shining directly onto your lens.
I really really love it, I love the crystals! It’s very amazing!!!! I can’t drive because of my cerebral palsy, so I’m gonna get my all electric car and let other people drive it for me
You know I have to comment, right? RR cars' grill were always a one unit element of their vehicles design to invoke status and opulence. BMW kidney grill inspired width for easing air to cool the engine, not unlike nostrils you find in nature, but the brand decided to grow something else with this new look. I believe those two brands working together, sharing luxury markets should still allow buyers to choose between different styles reflecting their separate histories in design and engineering. Someone should be able to purchase a Phantom and an i7 without thinking one of them is the cheaper daily driver vs the real deal. Each is its own animal.
This is a lot of car but considering the limited range this car just seems like it's on version 1.5 or something. This car is designed for long distance travel but can barely muster 300 miles
The lens and angle being used on the camera at the start of the video has me tripping. That car is looks nothing like a BMW. That’s why I love Porsche. The design is unmistakable.
The interface for the rear door touchscreens looks like a prepaid Android from 2010. And I know it actually runs Android but boy they did nothing to dress it up.
It's going to fast enough for most people? Dude, you have to stop being jaded at 4.25 seconds to 60. That's mind-boggling quick and most will never do or try it more that 10 or 15 times. 0-60 in an electric car is sorta meaningless in the 1st place, but stop being so jaded at these reviews.
HOW, HOW, HOW in the world could BMW think this horribly ugly monster of a car can unseat Benz? I'm a long time multiple model BMW 7 Series owner (I have one now) and this is hideous. My 7 Series days are over. I'll definitely go with the S Class next.
I don’t understand why car companies keep making electric cars .. more strain on the power grid and in the summer time you wont be able to charge it during a heatwave. No ac and can’t charge the damn car 😂
That interior is really gorgeous and the tech/features are insanely impressive. My jaw dropped when I saw the night shots of the interior lighting, it’s beautiful, definitely the best ambient lighting I have seen. I kinda like the S Class interior design more, and I still think I prefer the EQS exterior. The exterior in my opinion is pretty off putting, and the rear is pretty bland, and I am usually very open to all designs. The front is super polarizing and the rear is bland. I do agree that a sportier trim line would fit the styling better, but in the other review of the gas model the black accents are still borderline ugly. Great review as always!
BMW will overshoot the 300-mile range to around 330 to 340 in the summer. At least that's my experience in the i4, so year-round on average the EPA rating is accurate
Don’t Buy the BMW 7 Series if You Are Worried About Depreciation. A BMW 7 Series will depreciate 53% after 5 years and have a 5 year resale value of $50,297. 😂 most unreliable vehicles
I just feel like bmw did a bad job with the technology like no digital mirror and maybe use cameras when using turn signals. Your lucid video shows that they thought about all that stuff and bmw did not so def not something I’ll spend that much money for not to have
So in short this is a Movie theater on wheels just very expensive, we’ll they really need to hire an Italian designer the ones that know how to make the classic style, yep they just need that make it look great, but this one is just average, and all this toy’s inside is ok but really they just need to make it look better. LOL

Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!!

I saw one in person today. It looks good in all black
It's not designed for you. It's designed to appeal to the Chinese market. They said F the EU and NA markets. Everyone will buy this atrocity anyways.
@@rewris Which is sad

I love how the cars that don't need grilles at all get the biggest most absurd grilles
Goofy, isn't it? I guess the designers don't know what to do with the front end now that the EV doesn't need a grill.
Rims are atrocious
I think the aero covers are off the car
But they are ugly
The whole car is atrocious
@@NYCRover54 I think it looks worse with the aero covers. The covers look like something you'd buy at Autozone
It’s called winter tires
I actually like the smaller wheels. If for no other reason then it would have a softer ride because of the larger sidewalls. Also less prone to getting messed up by potholes.
I’m not a BMW fan but dam they really have made something specially ugly this time
I miss the 1990's 5 and 7 series bmws
E39 5 series, E38 7 series, E36, E46, and E90 3 series, like what happened to these kinds of designs over the years?
Although the current 3 Series (not the M3) and 5 Series are actually a good look for me.
Homer Simpson working at BMW's design studio now?
It’s a sweet ride
Parked next to one at Cumberlands
The front end deisgn looks significantly better on the X7. The deisgn just isn't holding up here.
Tire gel shining brighter than my future
Might be the way the camera is aimed but anyone else think that when the video starts Sofan looks super tiny next to the 7-series
I’d be worried about the longevity of the car itself forget about the seats
Rolling pile of junk
A purely lease machine. Sure, it’d seem outrageous to pay like $1.5k/month for 24 months but still a better & less stressful option than buying this future junk.
Can I ask what exactly about the longevity worries you?
@@khoahatake2017 uh everything
They nailed the interior!
The previous gen 7 looks better imo. Between the new 7 and the S class, the S looks so much better.
I like the exterior styling. I would love to see it in person
Still my dream BMW sedan I wanting to buy.

How can you pull on the screen in the EQS when it's buried in the dash?
I think this is iDrive 8 now, not 7? Looks like a sweet ride though! Do the doors have sensors not to knock stuff? I can tell you the auto open of all 4 doors was obvious at the Chicago Auto Show and was really easy for people to get in and out of....
Cloth seats?
29:55 I'm I crazy, or did BMW just put the THX sound you hear at the movie theater inside the car in Expressive Mode?
A swipe down on the screen will let you access saved favorite shortcuts.
While Doing 70mph "where is that darn button"
I like the exterior styling
Why BMW doesn’t offer a digital back mirror and flat floor?
I just recently started seeing these on the road and it's even worse in person.
Love this car
looks way better than the benz EQS!
This is the type of car a failed bank’s CEO can afford.
SVB comes to mind! 😊

Look harder and you can see it. Stop moaning. The lens wasn't pointing at the sun it was aimed at the boot.

That exterior though 😭😭😭😭
Buick is the right description. Boring.
the gas 760 weight 1000 lbs less at 4960.. im guessing the battery pack is 1500 lbs
Well it is a 105.7kwh battery pack. Very beefy for a sedan
You actually can still open the hood on the Mercedes the latch is covered by plastic
The lens and angle being used on the camera at the start of the video has me tripping. That car is looks nothing like a BMW. That’s why I love Porsche. The design is unmistakable.
For a car so luxurious I would prefer real leather all around
since this is fully electric it should be reliable right? right?
Nah
The interface for the rear door touchscreens looks like a prepaid Android from 2010. And I know it actually runs Android but boy they did nothing to dress it up.
Very beautiful 👍👍
Love it
Beautiful car!
Looks like it will cost 8000 dollars in 3 years…. Is it equipped with the Takata shrapnel airbags?

When or if buying this vehicle, are you buying it for the looked or buying it for the quality 🤔
Genesis got so much flack for going to the 2 spoke design... but now its ok seemingly.
That no rear view visibility is UNACCEPTABLE and a huge safety issue. How did this pass US regulations ????
2023 BMW i7 xDrive 60 Electric Sedan!
I hate to admit but the design has really grown on me
BMW looks good only with white colour.
The front end and lack of physical knobs and buttons are huge zonks.
With those terrifying looks no wonder Mercedes sells more S class's.
The Griswold station wagon with a BMW badge. Absolutely horrendous!
It looks expensive until you see those base model Camaro wheels 🤭🤭 thank god winter tires are none existent where I live hahaha
I don’t understand why car companies keep making electric cars .. more strain on the power grid and in the summer time you wont be able to charge it during a heatwave.
No ac and can’t charge the damn car 😂
This is the only vehicle I will buy it Sofyan.
BMW built quality 👌🏻
Do these car manufacturers even make vehicles that last long anymore 😂😂it’s like money money money is all I see, no heart or love into cars like these
It's a base rolls body restyled
Very nice vehicle I would buy this with different wheels.
That front end.. UGGGHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Can you imagine buying that out-of-warranty used? You probably be better off buying a Learjet!😝🤔🤫🙄
At least the white seats come pre soiled.
It’s a super nice vehicle but it’s filled with a bunch of unnecessary technology that will break in a couple months
That interior is really gorgeous and the tech/features are insanely impressive. Still a long way off of an EQS 350 which can squeeze 420.
4.25 WTF? A more than half a secong slower than EQS 580 and less range...POS😂
that front end is just awful in so many ways. this car will age horribly just like the bangle butt era 7 series.
$tfu u little pu$$y 😂😂😂
Maybe u love s-cla$$ which looks like every other Mercedes !!
Bangle butt was not this bad 😂
Front of the car is way too polarizing.
Price 150 plus
No way it doesn’t come with a digital mirror
Wow! $152k? Car are really staring to get very expensive, in my opinion .
I can think of so many vehicles that weigh less and look better than this, and less money
The exterior design is messy. Went for futuristic but looks too economy.
does rims belong on a x1 or 3 series
those
Definitely a car I would never buy even if I can afford it. BMW did a good job though.
Saw this in person, man that face needs a cover. This design for me only works in dark colors with the sport package.
Ugly wheels, ugly front, OK back. I just don’t get WHY make it ugly, it’s not polarizing. I’d rather take a F01 over this anyday.
Buick. Yep. Just about as sporty as a Buick. I will pass on that. They need to revamp the exterior look.
Just like phone batteries in a couple of years it can barely hold a full charge and die quickly
Don’t Buy the BMW 7 Series if You Are Worried About Depreciation. A BMW 7 Series will depreciate 53% after 5 years and have a 5 year resale value of $50,297. 😂 most unreliable vehicles
Bmw has rolls platform
those wheels are horrific. did someone steal them off a early 2000's nissan?
Great review although this BMW us not my cup of tea
Looks like a BMW and a Chevy Malibu had a child
Mercedes doesn't "allow" you to open your own car? Who would buy a car from a company that does that?
Not interested in a sunroof that doesn't open.

The looks Mercedes is better interior it’s better it doesn’t feel expensive
Imagine when the battery dies 🤭
Awful it look like Lurch might step out of the car at any moment.🤮
BMWs design has been declining these last 6 years. This is ugly
I rather buy old one than this 🤮
BMW can't make up its mind about which front end to build
Omg who designed that thing? A 3 year old?
