Happy Friday guys! Hope you all had a great week! We've braved the heavy rains and winds earlier this week in Northern California to drive the AWD version of the Ariya and came away more impressed than we thought! We're hoping to get our hands on one soon for a longer period to test out the range and charging speeds on a Level 3 station, but even though Nissan had to delay this car, its still a solid choice in the segment. Expect the e-4ORCE model to show up in dealers later this month!
Nissan is directly competing with the Y. I was going to get a Y, but the more practical Ariya at 48k vs 65k for the Y it was a no-brainer. I need more practicality from Tesla.
I have to give it to Nissan. This is one of the nicest cars they’ve had in decades. They still have a lot of work to do, but if this is their future direction in quality, I’m looking forward to it.
Don’t judge the book by its cover. This car lacks of technology and has cheap material. It’s like a toy car that runs electricity. And the car doesn’t look that nice comparing to Tesla. I test drove this car before deciding to order a Tesla Model Y performance

Better than new all electric Lexus car, the RZ. This Ariya looks better inside and out, and offers a better battery package. It’s just great tbh, and it’s new semi autonomous driving system is among the best. Amazing job, Nissan!
Hmmm, let's see. Decent exterior appearance (although, I'd likely go with the smaller wheels), regular door handles, a regular steering wheel (not a stupid yoke) and a beautiful interior that isn't covered in gloss black plastic. If you are looking for a regular EV (not a racecar), this is a very good option.
I agree. The interior is especially impressive. Not interested in paying 60-large for a Nissan just yet in order to get the nicest stuff they offer but this is a solid effort.

Quite like the design of the car, both exterior and interior. Nissan recently has been crafting really attractive looking cars and still maintains its uniqueness as a brand.
The materials and features you get in this car is basically luxury territory even though it wears Nissan Badge, I would take it any day over Lexus RZ450E, Lexus also has less range than Ariya.
So agreed. And before someone says "Toyota reliability", Nissan has actually been in the full EV game longer than Toyota and while the Leaf has shortcomings, it isn't unreliable. Nissan is also running some of the best batteries and e-motors on this as well.
@@vincenty747 indeed! I wish Nissan would figure out whether or not they want Infiniti to be successful beyond its current state. The newest product in their lineup, the QX60, isn't all that much more luxurious/different than a Pathfinder Platinum. Infiniti doesn't even offer a hybrid at the moment(neither does crosstown rival Acura, sans the NSX, interestingly enough). Nissan is obviously pouring money into the core Nissan brand(even the Titan has a more modern transmission than the QX80, which shares the V8), so it is strange that Infiniti seems to not have an obvious identity at the moment.

Great video, but for real: You can't get the upgraded audio on ANY trim, than the top "Platinum" :/ With so many trim options available, this seems pretty lame.
I think the Ariya such an awesome BEV! They really nailed it with the design, and the battery package is top-notch. Plus, the semi-autonomous driving system is pretty sweet. The best part, I think, is it's competitively priced compared to other similar cars, so if you're thinking of getting an EV, I feel this one should be at the top of your list. The interior and exterior are both impressive, and I love that they even added a personal touch with the name "Ariya." All in all, I think it's a practical and well-rounded option for anyone in the market for an electric vehicle
I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 267,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
He's not lucky I have 170k on my 11 Maxima only replaced the power steering pump. People don't take care of their cars maintenance wise. I do like this for a replacement for my Maxima though.
Ariya is great, but Platinum is 62k which is the same price as Cadillac Lyriq with considerably better interior and extra 30-40 miles of range. Lyriq also has AKG premium audio, but Bose in Ariya could sound just as good.
This thing is stunning. Honestly, it looks like something out of Ghost in the Shell. Heck, I think there's even some promo GITS art with a Nissan in it, that looks similar.
Thank you Sofyan for your usual excellent review. I think the Ariya is a beautiful vehicle with an exceptionally designed interior. The E-4orce is definitely the way to go, IMO, but is quite pricey.
Nissan is already very good at keeping the center of gravity of heavy vehicles low in the name of handling like with the R35 GTR which handles as if it’s 1000lbs lighter than it is. Now Nissan gets to make an AWD EV.. Should handle very well.
My only gripe is that this vehicle is marketed as a crossover/SUV but the federal ID label is listed as a passenger and not a multi purpose vehicle (MPV).
I may get crucified for this, but Nissan may have delivered the best all-around/complete EV for the money, currently. It has sufficient power for 90% of its targeted audience(it won't scare a Model 3 Performance or EV6 GT, but on par with standard models). 270 miles of range is again, enough for most of its audience, who are city/urban dwellers. It has up-to-date technology and features as well. For me, the interior is unexpectedly upmarket, and yes, better executed than what even Lexus is offering now(and this outclasses Nissan's own Infiniti). The fact that Nissan could've easily given just another boring black interior but didn't shows they're thinking more in terms of advancement for the brand. The overall environment does not scream mainstream. I'm a fan of this and would put it towards the top of the list if I were going for an EV.
This car looks great but the price is ridiculous. If the government wants to take away our fuel sources then they need to lower the price for the medium to low income. People with lower incomes will have to take ev buses, bike or walk to school or work. It’s crazy. $63,000.00 for a higher top ev car is way to high. I haven’t even seen a spare tire area. What’s up with that? It seems to be the best option with the comfort and mileage.
This was a very professional presentation and review. Thank you very much! I have already ordered, but there is a long delivery time for Ariya AWD, even in Norway
I would be very conflicted about leasing the Ariya Platinum+ with 19" wheels, the Pathfinder Platinum, or the Murano Platinum depending on whichever one has the best lease deal in South FL
My buddy bought a Nissan Leaf a few months ago, and took it on a road trip to Connecticut from Pennsylvania. He said one of the biggest downsides that he didn’t consider before driving it is how much less battery life you get using your heat settings in your car. The electric car doesn’t produce heat like an engine, so it draws on the battery. When they say “max range”, they mean best case scenario. They did the trip in some pretty bitter winter weather. He said he was also surprised that it was still pricey to stop and charge the vehicle a few times. Even though it was cheaper than gas it’s still is a cost to consider. Aside from that he loves it. I commute too much to rely on a fully electric vehicle at the moment, but hopefully in the next few years they continue to increase the range. I just traded my 2018 CX5 for a 2023 Outback. I’m assuming the next vehicle I buy will be fully electric. This new Nissan is actually really cool looking with a sweet interior. And I really like what Toyota has done with the new Prius. Lots to look forward to. Great review! Even though I’m not in the market I love seeing auto makers adapt and innovate.
Hi Great Video, It is an imposing vehicle, Can you please confirm the directional airflow, don't see any visible manual on the dashboard, Regards welshman2081
Yet another personal bs review someone who doesn’t understand Toyota philosophy. I have sat behind BZ4X and had no problem founding comfortable position. No glove box because there is an infrared heating which is really cool. The problems you present are just some personal dislikes which doesn’t matter. It is a great car, just the price tag is high. That’s all.
62 grand . There forcing ev's on people but no normal people can afford them. And it doesn't matter how tike passes by. Batteries never go down in cost . They only go up. So prices of these cars will never go down .
You can get this in the 40's. Don't get the higher model of you can't afford it and when the battery is going 2 be made in the US soon then you'll get the tax credit.
@occckid123 dealers are already marking them up and there not leasing them. You can only finance them . Go finance a 50,000 car. 800 dollar car payment. Good luck with that lol
@@robertsn6584 again this isn't a cheap nissan kicks type of vehicle. Even a pathfinder gets over 50k lmfao so yes its the cost of vehicles if you're getting a 50k vehicle then you better have some down payment money The 1 at my dealer has no markup..

Competitors are already offering EV distance close to 300 plus miles on a single charge while Nissan’s EV only offers 267 miles. They are alway behind the times and that is why they continue to lose market share.
Wow! 62K for a Nissan with no tax credit and probably limited availability so add another 7K for dealer markups for a total of 70K with destination fees?????????? Hard pass for me, but good review!
Nissan is doing better than Toyota. This seems like a nice car but I’d probably go for the Mach-e or Model Y because of the tax credits. And if I didn’t care about the credits I buy an Ioniq 5. But I think this car will sell and I’d buy it over a Lexus RZ 450e.
I'm impressed by the loyalty of the Lexus fans, but while the Rz 450e seems like a nice luxury car, but it's a mediocre EV. The battery is too small and the onboard charger is too slow. It will be fine for the Lexus fans, but it's not going to excite EV enthusiasts. I'm a big enough believer in Toyota to think they can do a lot better.

Its just another choice tbh. The price and performance is basically neck and neck with the Mach, e Id4, Model y and the korean trio.
If it can do the Jetsons sound I'm sold!
I would buy that just for the interior. Fantastic.
Very tempting indeed. New nissan designs are very attractive indeed.
Good job nissan!!!
Love the design of center console design
Design looks great. It is way overpriced - top of the line is CA$69K.
These politicians wants us to spend these money for a ev lol
I love the komiki (not sure how to speed it) design piece up by the review mirror. That’s attention to detail
This was a very professional presentation and review. Thank you very much! I have already ordered, but there is a long delivery time for Ariya AWD, even in Norway
Oh it rains in NoCal baby. Boy does it ever

Really should have been an Infiniti first.
You sir, get a dislike for calling this "GTR-Inspired". Please seek help
The worst thing about the Leaf that I had wasn't the range, but the Chademo charging. So much harder to find a working chademo charger.
the ariya has a heated and liquid cooled battery with a heat pump more effecient
Yes, buying an EV, a heat pump is a must! Luckily, Nissan learned and modernized the Ariya.
@@ryansherman4556 LEAF also comes with heat pump
@@cdbuiles never new that the leaf moved to a heat pump
Impressed with Nissan, but the way you pronounced Healdsburg lol anywayyy yeah for once Nissan not bad.
the best EV japan has to offer. but still years behind tesla and korean engineering
Hi Great Video, It is an imposing vehicle, Can you please confirm the directional airflow, don't see any visible manual on the dashboard, Regards welshman2081
Looks better then the Lexus lol 😂
Even a pathfinder gets over 50k lmfao so yes its the cost of vehicles if you're getting a 50k vehicle then you better have some down payment money
The 1 at my dealer has no markup..
@occckid123 pathfinder is a 3 row suv. Have you been to nissan ?? I have . I was told the leasing on this is horrible. Do you havto buy it
@@robertsn6584 yes I have so forget about that the murano loaded cost 47k for something that's been out since 2014 lmfao. There you go. Not everyone leases...
Sup with the two annatenas?
Sounds like the Jetson’s car😂
That’s awesome!
Nasty weather. I wonder if the lighting would have been ok to film it in an underground garage
the EV6 is a better more fun car - much faster charging times and has incentives on a lease of $7500 -makes the Nissan a very poor choice
Seen one on the road just earlier today. That person was riding my butt, that’s typical of Florida driver’s. Looked nice though.
Must have run out of design hours for the rear styling.......
Weather dreary? Hair a hot mess? Wear a beanie! Bet you'd look good in one Sofyan
Already see under the hood they failed to easily reduce the amount of orange electrical cable.
Love this red!!!
Can't wait for the Maxima redesign with this powertrain.
Beautiful looking car, I have a rogue now that I hate, I was never going to get another Nissan again but now I might have to
You went wrong on 'Concave' and 'Convex' display shape. ;-) at 11:00
264 miles of range isn’t long range , nothing under 300 range can’t be long range come on man ..
The more hair that leaves your head, the longer these reviews needlessly become. Bald
Electrification is NOT the Answer.
That's ludicrous. Buy this over a Lexus.
Call me crazy but if they want more EV adopters they need to bigger credit than 7500, more like 15000 would be more helpful
@@bruceyung70 Lexus usually have better cars than Nissan, but this Ariya just blows Lexus out of water easily.
The evs are niche vehicles that only a few ppl gonna afford gas cars>>>>
