- It's here! The Great Critique Partner Match Up of 2024! I hope this will provide a good opportunity for those of you wanting to find a critique partner. Every writer gets to a point where you need feedback from other writers, but finding a CP that gives solid constructive criticism can be a challenge.

This Match Up will allow you to submit information about yourself, your writing journey, and your current WIP, which will be compiled into a Google Form. This Form will be accessible only to other participants. Look though the list, find one or two folks who seem like a good potential CP, and send them an email to say hello!
This is open to anyone 18+, writing in any genre, at any point in their writing journey or the writing process. It's my intention to keep this open for the foreseeable future, so there is no rush in signing up. Please take your time in considering whether you're ready for a CP (and whether you're ready to be a CP yourself) before submitting the questionnaire.

I'm hoping you make an amazing match with this, but if you don't find that perfect partner, keep looking! There are opportunities that pop up every so often, so keep your ears and eyes open.

I love seeing the community come together like this to create a resource for everyone. I look forward to seeing the partnerships form from this. You often hear people here mention they have CP's but not how they found them.
So many CP connections seem so random! I lucked out last year finding mine through a workshop and an online forum. If I can provide one more opportunity for folks to make that connection, then I'm happy to help out.

Oof! I dearly need someone to critique my works, but I have 0 experience critiquing myself. I don't think it'd be a very good exchange for the other person. lol So awesome to have more ways to find critique partners though.
There are quite a few people in the list at the moment who have little to no experience, too! Everyone has to start somewhere, right? I hadn’t done much critiquing either when I started talking to my CPs and we figured things out together.

I'm trying to send the first part of the form and it's... being difficult with the "why do you want a critique partner right now" section... keeps telling me I need at least 100 characters and everything I'm typing is below 100 characters.

You can definitely sign up! I will say, as of right now, there aren't any other nonfiction writers in the list, but that doesn't mean it'll stay that way forever. No harm in throwing your hat in the ring!
I kinda want to do this but the writing just isn’t there yet. Can we sign up with just the brainstorming stage/first draft stage?
Absolutely! CPs can be great for bouncing ideas off of before you have any sort of draft completed.
