- In this video we ride into some remote and stunning locations in the heart of Wales.
We ride our Royal Enfield Himalayans down the Devils staircase, Visit Llyne Briane, The Elan valley dams, visit the most remote phone box in Wales, fly the drone at the Cynghordy viaduct, ride through Cwmystwyth valley and along the military road at Sennybridge and so much more.
Wales really is a beauitiful country.
I hope you enjoy the video:)

Last of the summer wine on motorcycles, fantastic.
"what ever bike you got is good enough" never a truer word said. Not just about bikes. so many people spend loads on tents/caravans/gear, then never actually use it! Yes we all tend to be 'gear heads' but the thing is get out and use the stuff!
*One of the best videos, I am so looking forward to riding the gospel pass, devil's staircase and the most repot phone both. Thank you for a wonderful video*.
You will really enjoy it, it's a lovely place to visit and not many cars
Sandy, one of the best videos capturing the joy of motorcycling I've watched for a long time. Three blokes sharing friendship, some stunning roads and scenery. Highlighting the joys of low cost simple motorcycles in their preferred environment. Well done much enjoyed. The icing on the cake was the great drone shots.
Sandy, old Harry looks a rum bugger, a touch of an aged Hell's Angel about him. Henry.
Clegg, Compo & Foggy ride again! Last of the Summer Wine . . . with excellent drone footage. Looks like a great trip, Sandy.
I hadn't ridden in Wales until I did the Welsh rally back in May this year and hadn't appreciated just how beautiful the scenery was; absolutely stunning. Wales is definitely one of my favourite places to ride, especially when the weather cooperates.
Haa Steve I was thinking the same. It felt very much like last of the summer wine:) Wales is a beautiful place for sure
@@WiltshireMan but which one was which 🤣. I did in a moment of weakness think and motor bike would be a good 65th birthday pressie to myself but I enjoy my comfort too much these days . Lovely part of the world - I enjoy the drive thru there on our trips down to Tenby area each year.
It’s look gorgeous, I had never herd of it before 👍🏍
Excellent adventure Sandy.
I had to laugh out loud at you three old geezers cramming into that phone box like a bunch of kids! 😃
Noel
I thought that was a funny sketch too Noel:)
Another lovely trip/video Sandy. I never want them to stop because they're so interesting.
Thanks Paul
Lovely little plod around wales that, letting the views sink in and apreciateing the mountains. Great bikes those they just seem to make more and more sence, cheers sandy.
Thank you Sandy, a great trip around the area where I live.
Lovely video, thank you. Always good to see mates having a good camp and bike ride.
Sandy Jack, with that tin of fireworks and rice for dinner, you need to put the loo roll in the fridge! Best…Cam
Nice ride ! Nothing better than 2 wheel therapy and the great outdoors
Lol love sitting on that bench chills you out lol can’t wait to go back
Such a joy to watch must get a motorcycle..🏍️😀
Thanku Wiltshire Man taking me to Sth Wales. Love Wales! My Dad took the family very often to North Wale in the 1950s . Circular route over old Runcorn Transporter Bridge (now dismantled) to Lake Ogwen, Tryfan etc. Home through the Mersey Tunnel. Safe travels. Liverpool aged 82. ps. Been to TT twice 60 yrs ago.
Thanks Irene, it sounds like this video brought back some nice memories for you:) I've never been to see the TT or the IOM but I have been to Liverpool:)
Yeah the previous comment was right, last of the summer wine motorcycle tours ,The welsh tourist board should PAY YOU, this is what real touring is about. Tahis reminds me of my 1st bike rally tour in the 1970,s...brilliant ,brilliant ,BRILLIANT. And if yer mate does decide to open a motorcycle vlog ,wanna be one of the 1st to watch ...once again ,great vid.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video, it was a lot of fun with good company too:)
Well done, fantastic all round. 👍👍👍
Awesome trip made even better with a couple of good friends. We have snow covering the ground here now so the motorcycle will be lonely until next Spring. Hope to make some long trips on the motorcycle next summer and hope to record the trips.
Thanks Lonnie, Wise to put the bike to bed for the winter, just make sure you hook it up to a battery tender. Hopefully you'll get some nice riding next year
Great video , glad Chug is back on the road, another great adventure.
Thanks John, it was good to be out on the himi again, I've had to fit a new chain and sprockets
@@WiltshireMan how many miles Sandy?
Another great video. Loved the Phone box bit! 😀
I’m really enjoying your films. Bloody outstanding doorstep adventures and beautiful camera work, and so relaxing.
Stunning place Wales thanks for sharing
Thanks Oz, Wales never dissapoints
Thanks for taking me all over the bloomin place. Loved the scenery. Getting to see a far off distant place is very enjoyable to me. Happy riding. Thanks for sharing. Tony.
Satnav took us on a merry dance Tony and some of the roads were very narrow and slippery too
Awesome video, great views!! Thank you for sharing your adventures!!👍Wishing you a Happy Birthday Sandy!! Enjoy your special day!!🎂👍
The bench you stopped at was where I took the last picture of my old mate who died recently. Absolutely amazing place ❤❤❤❤❤
It is a lovely place Neil, I go there every year it's about 2 hour drive from my home
Total enjoyment Sandy - Loved the moble footage 👍
Sandy, what an amazing video. Luv your narration and story telling; along with the beautiful countryside it makes me feel warm inside. Luv the banter between the three of you and the phone box was priceless. I’m ex Post Office and my wife Ann always comments when she see’s small rural post boxes like the one next to the phone box that they only get emptied when the postman can be bothered 😅.
It’s what motorcycling is all about, great rides, great company.
Thanx so much for all your hard work, it’s appreciated.
Cheers and ride safe.
Neil
Thanks Neil really pleased you have enjoyed this video, it was a lot of fun making it and the scenery was just perfect. I love old post boxes too:)
What a great Himalayan adventure riding with the three of you these Himalayans take some beating my second bike is a Himalayan and to honest it gets more use and fun to ride, Great video Sandy thankyou.
How very true… just spent 5 days in wales on my Vespa GTS 300 touring around. Seems like we rode some of the same roads! Excellent video and keep on touring!
Living on the border I, now having a GS, have the easily accessible Welsh countryside to explore as well as the rest of Europe, Love your videos, an inspiration to many Thanks again Sandy
Lovely video sandy brilliant keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍
Fabulous trip. Very lucky to have time to do these trips. I expected to see super man emerge from the phone box
It almost too super man strength to get all three of us in there Harold:)
Wonderful drone shots
Great video Sandy with beautiful scenery, great companions. Sorry you had camera trouble but look forward to the next one take care Sandy.
amazing vid sandy first class drone footage
Thank you for sharing your adventure! It's good to see you back on your bike again. Cheers!
Great video and really well edited too. What a stunning place captured perfectly. top marks
Nice to see you back on the motorbike Sandy. I enjoyed your cycle series but love your motorcycle content👍
Well you've done it again Sandy, provide this old codger with a great adventure out and about. Great vies of the country side. One common denominator, is that we all love the land of our Birth for sure. But with view like that. it's not hard to fall in love with aother country. I found that out back in the early 60's while stationed in Germany with the US. Army. traveled all about Europe and loved every bit of it. That Via Duct was outstanding!! great aerial shots and I love the passing thru the columns shot, bit precarious bit of flying well done Sandy. Happy upcoming 60th. I'm sneaking up on my 80th. so live vicariously thru you thank you so much Sandy. es 73 CUDTL OM!de Ellis. WA1RKS
Happy Birthday 🎉 for tomorrow Sandy. Wishing you all the best for your 60th 🎉
Sandy,, just purchased a kawasaki klx 230s.. The older I get the lighter my bikes.. I buy them by the #. Still have the Himalayan, and still enjoy it. A fine machine and comfortable for day rides. The Klx lacks the comfort for distance.,, but it is great on mountain trails.... Thank you for the wonderful video.. Glad Dickie has discovered meaning of life. 🚴
Well Sandy it is just Tuesday October 18th and let me wish you a verry Happy Birthday my friend and may you enjoy many years to come!
It’s videos like this which makes me ask myself why did I ever leave WALES, and move to New Zealand!!! You appear to be very good at everything you do, really enjoy the vids regardless of what the subject is, so keep them coming.👍
Thanks for another great video and what a wonderful part of the UK to explore.
Another wonderful video, sir! Been lucky enough to have been able to ride this area 3 times this year myself … it’s absolutely beautiful… definitely my ‘happy place’… and loved the sage-like wisdom imparted to Harry… “speak into the furry thing, look into the glass thing…” a great lesson for us all!!!😂👍👍
Haaha That was me that said that to Harry:)
Himalayan adventure in the Welsh mountains! Superb! 👍😁
Most enjoyable.
A great Adventure had by all, yes a wonderful place Wales I lived here for over 30 years… walk for miles I know of some good wild camp spots.
Yes great to see you all back on your motorcycles- good stuff. A big thumbs up for Dickies RUclips channel, cheers
Really interesting video Sandy. You have some great mates. Well done. Thank you and Stay Safe.
I think I enjoyed that trip as much as you, Dicky & Harry, real lovely area, My son went to Abber Uni and I used to go up that area two or three times a year for me and him to go wild camping, brought back some good memories. Next time your up there head to the Devils bridge area, also stunning. Thanks for taking us along Sandy, big thumbs up,
Moose
Your welcome Moose, thanks for watching
Thank you, again, Sandy. Fantastic views. Loved it. 🙂👍
Thank you I enjoyed that from first to last. Come back in the summer ...... it rains then too but its warm rain.
Very good Vid and ride OM. Enjoyed watching your trip.
Great inspiring video me and my son done a 380 mile round trip today on our vstroms to do same route brilliant ride today thanks to your video . cheers
Another cracking video sandy. I'm honestly surprised that you haven't been approached by a TV company to make documentaries
Another crack’n video Sandy, lovely roads and fantastic scenery, stay safe on your travels.
Absolutely loved this video Sandy, the enjoyment of it came through so well. I discovered Brianne some years ago, blew me away. Planning a weekend over there on the Himi for 23.
Great work.
Thanks Sandy, nice video that. I`ve popped a link on my website to this video, so others can enjoy what you do. Have a great week, take care. 🙏
I wonder happens if you stop on the military range road? Another great one Sandy, Wales is spectacular.
Great video Sandy, took me down memory lane, very nice indeed 👍 👍 🍻 🍻
I would have like to get a closer look at the German village at Sennybridge, looked very interesting:)
Great to see you out and about again having an adventure with 'Chug'. Great video as usual Sandy👍🙂
Great video Sandy- on the road with your buddies - safety in numbers in that terrain- Much more bendy than Route 66 and better beer. Keep biking and keep safe.🌈🍺👏🏍 x3 Cheers.
Got the Elixir 3,Tranga 25 and also the Goal zero lamp ,Crackin set up🏍🤘
Perfect way to make a video. Its interesting how many vloggers have issues with Go Pro microphones? I moved to just south of the Brecons 4 years ago from Bristol, and this year decided to try and video all of the routes on and off the beaten track that people would never think to travel along. The quest will continue next Spring.
Brilliant vid thanks
Must bring my Himi down to Wales 👍
Great vid. Nice to see the phone box again. Parked up there while walking Cambrian Way. Walked to village you camped at and back. Then next day walked from Tregaron to box again then North. That was over 20 years ago. 4 years ago did The Llyn Brianne route in reverse in the car and saw chap cycling it on Brompton with camping gear! Perhaps another challenge for you.
Another superb video here Sandy. It must be mesmerizing to just chug along those beautiful narrow roads and take in all of those surrounding views. What a great adventure with such awesome riding mates. You possess a life of multiple interests and you do such a fine job of pursuing each and every one whether it be on a motorcycle, bicycle, on foot, or in the air. You do not sit around and and dream about future adventures, you get out and go on them. I am so thankful that you are so willing to share them with us through your videos and photos. I can't thank you enough for that. Take care my friend and I will see you on the next one. And who knows what you will be up to next LOL!
Thanks Terry, It's important to grab life by the horns and live it whilst you can:) I'm not sure what I'll be doing next but I shall be doing something, thats for sure.
Wonderful to see a video from you, now there is nothing like going for a ride on the motorcycle and enjoying the freedom.
Very enjoyable video bro. Safe travels
Great video sandy, I was only over in Wales last Friday on my Himalayan doing the devil's staircase then through tregaron up to devil's bridge and back through the elan valley. As you say it's the perfect bike, you don't need to spend £15k on a computerised monstrosity 😂
That military road looked interesting I think I will have to go and take a look. 👍
Hello from Nîmes in france. Lovely country i ride an Himalayan you are an exemple for me. Ride safe Franck.
waaah ni love butty bach beer as well mate - great video very relaxing to watch - keep up the great vids mate..
Absolutely brilliant video Sandy this must be your best bike adventure video to date loved it so much watched it twice. Takes me back to when I had my bike last rode 9yrs ago touring around the UK and even western Europe on my little ER everyone said she wouldn't manage Europe but she never put a foot wrong and got me back from every journey I made. You are right you can have adventures on any bike. Love all your videos like the mixture, they are just like a box of chocolates you never know what you'll be doing next. Look forward to the next one.
Thanks for the lovely comment Sue. The ER5 was a very good bike and a lot were used by couriers. I think there are still a few around today
Glad to see your videos again. The scenery is outstanding.
Brilliant video Sandy! Loved every minute ✔️
Thanks Ratz's hope your both well
Another great video Sandy, I did the devils staircase in August on my ST1300, it was an excellent ride. I loved the viaduct drone shots, showing the curve in the track, the engineering skills in those days were on another level for that time.
Lovely video 😊
Brilliant Sandy been up hay bluff loads of times in my camper vans over the years was there this june first time iv seen the signs no overnight camping shame used to be lovely to wake up there on a Monday morning bur we found out we could stay at Llanthony Priory basic campsite with a pub
wow excellent trip, inspirational to do an adventure during a wet Autumn time, i have made place notes and will visit on my smaller machine
Brilliant trip Sandy: some of my favourite places and roads. I wish I could have been with you.
What a great way to travel! 😍 Wonderful sights along the way and great commentary and music to accompany the views 👍 Looked like a fab little adventure - 3 grown men in a phone box 😂😂
Thanks Miriam, I thought it would be a bit of fun to get all three of us in the phone box:) Wales is such a lovely place. I've been enjoying your videos btw, very well filmed and beautiful scenery. I also ride a Brompton:)
Cracking video Sandy. Really enjoyed watching it. Would love to join you guys some day. Im also a Royal Enfield Himalayan owner. Love riding that bike.
Yet another outstanding video Sandy. Knowing the area fairly well, I have to say you really captured the scenery and atmosphere to perfection. On some of the roads I could almost picture riding along with you all. Although it’s some years ago that I’ve ridden the roads that you were on, your footage and commentary brought back many happy memories of my time riding through this area. Thank you so much for sharing and looking forward to your next video, on whatever subject, they’re always a pleasure to watch.
Thanks Clive, it's easy to make a good video when you go to Wales because the scenery is so nice there
I love the sound of rain on the tent thanks for the video
Such a beautiful way to make memories of your 60th birthday. Stunning scenery. Makes me want to run out and go camping. Cheers!
Another great video Sandy definitely going to do this trip in the spring
Great video. You certainly picked some scenic routes. It's home ground for me as I live about an hour away from Llynne Brianne and was up there a couple of weeks ago. All the reservoirs are very low this year due to lack of rain. If you stop on the Range you become a sitting target! Your Welsh is improving too🙂
Haaa Thanks {atrick, we met a local and he pit is right on some of the pronounciations:)
Gotta love Harry Enfield 👍
Reminds me of my thunderbird days. Thanks Sandy ❤
Love Wales hate camping lol great video
Quality video sandy with good friends and beautiful scenery 👍 that viaduct is some feat of engineering and a pleasure too see it by your drone 🙌👌
Some of the civil engineering projects built over the years required a heck of a lot of man power Martin and I'm sure it broke a few backs too...!
Great to see you out on the bikes again Sandy. A trio of Himalayans too!
The Himalayan is well suited to this type of adventure
@@WiltshireMan I got a soft spot for them and their capability in the first Itchy Boots series.
Nice to see you on your motorcycle again and camping
Looks like you had another great adventure. The old country has some amazing scenery and the Eden Valley is a great ride. I think the viaduct could easily be in a Harry Potter film. Cheers. 🏍🏍👍👍🏕😁
Nice video Sandy, although this time I feel you took the easy option. I rode up and over the Gospel Pass to Hay and then back again to east of Abergavenny on my Brompton on the hottest day of the year when we had that heat wave in the mid 40s C. At the top of the Gospel Pass the views were stunning as it was so clear and the skies blue. It was 38C up there. My Brompton handled it just fine although I was a bit knackered by the end when I got back to my campsite near the Offa's Dyke Path. Have also cycled up the Devil's Staircaes but not on a Brompton. I would be worried about dropping a loaded motorcycle riding up one of these really steep slopes with sharp turns requiring very good slow speed and throttle/clutch control to stay upright. All credit to you and the guys for managing to do so. Wales has fantastic scenery and people.
looks great
Certainly worth a visit
A great trip. I remember being beasted as a yoof in the summer of 1976 in the Elan Valley. 4 weeks of running about in one of the hottest summers on record.
Brilliant motorbiking trip, exactly the sort of trips I enjoyed before Mr Magoo's grandson took me off my motorbike and put an end to motorbikes for me.
I also enjoy your Brompton camping trips I treated myself to a Brompton for a landmark birthday and love it a very underrated bike. I keep looking at Motorbikes but I think I am an ex biker now. Thanks for great content in all your vids.
