Man, I think Arc is the best, but Man Alive is easily my favorite. I find it more colorful, more powerful, and more explosively intricate. Also, I just think Jonathan is my favorite on the album of any album with not only his lyrics on every song being so alien and bizarre, but also just the fact that he is DESTROYING every song vocally, he’s just a fucking monster on every track beginning to end wether it’s a ballad or a powerhouse. It’s a tiny bit rougher production wise, but never to a point where I felt it was a detriment to the incredibly song writing
1. Get To Heaven 2. A Fever Dream 3. Raw Data Feel 4. Man Alive (very inconsistent, but some tracks are some of their best stuff) 5. Duet (CONSISTENT, but it feels a tad long and a bit less exciting to me) 6. REANIMATOR (the album is still good, but not great. And my god, check out the live version of "Of Birdsong" on their RUclips channel. Prob my fav Everything Everything track tbh)
I am gonna have some truly controversial opinions i think. Sorry this is about to be a long ass comment. 1)Man Alive - I don't understand the hate. I think songs like Schoolin' and Nasa Is On Your Side still hold up today. And when I heard it there was literally nothing else like it at least nothing I'd come across 2)Get To Heaven - this is one of their most popular and I can definitely see why. the hooks are all over this this and the extended edition also has amazing tracks. Like Reptiles is just as good as anything else they've done 3)A Fever Dream - I never understood why people didn't like this one? Like it's not super exciting I guess but it's consistent and consistently quality 4)Arc - as a follow up to Man Alive it lost a lot of what I loved about their songwriting. I just...I don't love it. I don't go back to more than maybe 4 tracks often 5)ReAnimator - didn't really land for me. almost sounds like another band its missing quirkiness i guess but it's not bad 6)Raw Data Feel - I don't love this. i wish i did. I know a lot of people love it. it doesn't hit for me and I think it's a good example of me loving what other people didn't love about them and vice versa. I was into the genre hopping and the rough vocals and the just randomness. It's why Man Alive remains my favourite. they were just exploring and doing whatever they wanted but on this album, idk i feel like it's lacking soul. it's lacking fun. i haven't heard it that many times, i hope it hits for me eventually. I imported their first album back when it first came out because that was the only way i could access it and i'm still a fan. i hope i can come to love their newer stuff or this might end up being a metric situation for me. I didn't listen to them for 2 albums while they just...wasted their talent and made stuff i didn't love and then they came back with art of doubt and it was universally lauded.
My order is 1. Raw Data Feel 2. Get To Heaven (The reason i think this is because RDF has the least amount of “bad” songs out of all their albums. GTH is good but Distant Past is one of their worst works to date and would be the worst if not for two for nero, No reptiles is a good song until jon sings about a fat child in a push chair for two minutes and regret is ruined by its chorus otherwise it would be a great song) 3. A Fever Dream 4. A deeper sea 5. Arc 6. Man-Alive (it has some really good songs but god but some of them are paced so oddly and like halfwaythrough the song youre like “what is this” and then you skip it. Examples: Come alive diana, Leave the engine room Final Form and NASA is on your side) 7. Re-Animator god i love you black hyena and arch enemy but jesus 6.
this deserves more views

@@Theybo2 admittedly needs more listens! I’ve not got round to playing it more than once yet
