- The latest board from Tomo pushes surfboard design again. Having it under your arm puts a huge smile on your face, the anticipation of surfing it is almost too much! We had a chance to have a quick surf on a 5' 5" and although smaller than you'd choose here's what happened: even at this small length it paddled really easily, even in choppy conditions the nose didn't catch. The sheer width of the thing meant it paddled in nice and easy and felt fast, popping up the board feels super stable but very lively.

Hi Thank you for the awesome reviews. I had an evo FST 5'3 for 2 years and loved it until it clean snapped under the lip of a Oaxaca barrell. Living in Texas I travel to surf so I need a versatile board that works in waves ranging from windswells in the Gulf Coast, to California and perfect barrels back home in Mexico. Now I am shopping for a new board, not sure whether to go for the SKX or another EVO.. I really like that it's available in the Timbertek construction too. Thoughts on FST vs Timbertek?
🤙🙂 Saludos
Great review , thanks ... any idea how it would compare to a Tomo . Ion .. similar you think ???
Hi, excellent review! I can't wait to get mine. One question what split pad are you using on that board? Thanks
Eduardo Souto Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! In the video we are using the The Ocean & Earth Two Piece tail pad. We will attach a link for you to check it out. bit.ly/1gg3XgS

Do you think it's more suited for small waves than the lost puddle jumper?
Your personal opinion evo or cymatic? If only they weren’t so pricey
wow looks epic fast. Thanks for a great review. How would the evo compare to puddle jumper in 2-3 ft small waves. If it was small and weak which board would u go for.
Hi, Interesting one. In theory you would go with the Puddle Jumper in those conditions. But if you had a slightly over volume EVO this also works brilliantly in smaller surf. The decision my friend is up to you!
Nice straight review !!!
Hi! I like riding my boards as short as possible and weigh around 125-130lbs. Would you say a 4'11 in this model would be a good fit?? Thanks very much for the review
Did you get one?
Would be great to hear your thoughts after surfing the 5'8 evo. I'm 80kg (probably 83KG with 5mm hooded wetsuit, gloves and boots) and 6'3 in height and im thinking the 5'8 would be the one to go for. I have a 5'7 baked potato and love it. Surf fairly punchy beach breaks and reefs on the north of scotland. Would you recommend smaller or longer? (intermediate surfer)
+p mate, I am 60 yrs old, weigh 85kg, 5'11 tall, intermediate+ surfer, am riding the 5'6" 32.9L Evo, I tried the 5'5" 30.2L model but wanted the extra 2-3 L for paddling etc, I reckon go about 10% more litres than your standard goto short board, goes like a bomb in waist to well overhead punch waves... dont go to long...
@@TopGeer1 I'm 80kg and have an opportunity to get a 5'5 for a great price. It sounds so small, but I surf a 5'6 seaside as my daily so I guess it's not. My concern is that It is only 30.5 liters. A little nervous to go that low, but due to its shape maybe it's doable? What do you think?
I, m 71 kg Without my 3/2 suit. Intermediate, riding 6,6 foam boards. I borrowed a 5,8 evo from a friend and went great since the beggining. This board is great. I love the volumen at the front. Don, t go too long,
