Great showcase of the broad - thanks. It's kinda like a Dark Arts 'Dad Bod' (the first one with a squash tail) - the dimensions are similar too, with the Machadocado being even wider and more volume. I rode the Machadocado in small & lumpy, windy semi - close out surf and it kinda excelled there. It's def more of a groveler than the Mashup, but less so than the Seaside or Sweet Potato, so sizing it up a bit is less of a no-no. I like the tail and fin setup more on this than the Seaside and SP too, as it gets SUPER thin like you mentioned (thickness wise) which helps it pivot better. With the sea of swallow and round pins on the market, it's nice to see the classic squash back in action. This board doesn't jump out at you when you look at it in store, but I'm really glad it was suggested at one of their demos cause now I 'need' one lol. Seem similar to me, squash tail longer rail foam forward grovelers… I am a begintermediate surfer getting more comfortable on shortboards, can catch up to around head high waves reliably but don’t really rip or do major maneuvers yet, mostly go down the line and working on going more top to bottom on the face. Definitely do not oversize this board. I made that mistake and it’s a dog at the higher volume. Way too much float in the front to the point where swimming it into waves is tough as the buoyancy pushes back on you with all that width, and the same features make it really hard to set the rail anywhere than a foot forward from the tail. I would be in the market for this board or the JS flame fish.
The Cado really doesn’t have much rocker… so it’s going to be fast in small mushy waves. The FF might be a tad faster with its wider outline but the Cado out performs the FF.

Thoughts on this vs a pyzel white tiger? Seem similar to me, squash tail longer rail foam forward grovelers… I am a begintermediate surfer getting more comfortable on shortboards, can catch up to around head high waves reliably but don’t really rip or do major maneuvers yet, mostly go down the line and working on going more top to bottom on the face. I’m on a 5’8 hypto currently, twin plus trailer. I was thinking maybe a 5’6 MC or a 5’7 WT, mainly interested in getting looser with a squash tail vs pintail. It might be fair to say I’m not good enough yet to appreciate the differences and should just stay on the hypto. Any thoughts if either of these boards might be worthwhile for my progression?

@@Garebare24 Yes, go similar volume as your Seaside
Definitely do not oversize this board. I made that mistake and it’s a dog at the higher volume. Way too much float in the front to the point where swimming it into waves is tough as the buoyancy pushes back on you with all that width, and the same features make it really hard to set the rail anywhere than a foot forward from the tail. Especially problematic if you are surfing anything with a bowly section or little quick drops. All the same issues as over sizing the Seaside but more pronounced.
@@biff022 Thanks for posting
@@surfnshowreviews7777 also forgot to mention, for context, I love the Seaside sized right. I probably need a MCado sized down, but the one I have plows water.
Can I have your opinion comparing the Machadocado with the Glazer?
Noel how would you compare the Cado to the RW? Which is more user friendly?
@@jorgeandrescoppiano the Cado has less overall rocker so it’s faster and paddles better. The Cado is more of a Groveler and shreds 1-3’ surf. You can surf it in a little overhead waves but it’s best in smaller waves.
The RW is more of a small wave performance board. It does tighter arcing turns and likes to surf the pocket more vertical. Basically the RW is a step down small wave shredder. For most surfers… including myself it’s my daily HPSB. Most small wave performance boards fall into this category… they rip 3-6’ flatter faced waves that aren’t super hollow.
Hi. How does this board compare to a Gskate considering they have different tails and front end? Which one is more fund and allows to high performance?
@@JOSELUIS-ci2hs This MC out performs the GSkate in 1-3’ surf. It’s way faster and pivots better. The GSkate has a better upper end wave range with its overall rocker and pulled in tail.

Would you recommend running your normal shortboard volume? Or better to volume up?
@@trestlesrocks if your surfing 1-2’ mushy waves then you can volume up a liter or so. I like my boards responsive… some folks like 2-3L more in small weak waves.

Was undecided between the 5’6” and the 5’8”. I ended up getting a 5’8”. Feels great, however I ended up ordering a 5’6” because the big jump in width from the 5’6” up to the 5’8” is pretty massive and I’m looking for a bit more high performance response. Will be interesting to compare the two sizes and decide which to keep. Or possibly keep both with the bigger of the two for softer conditions and the smaller as I slight step up for good days.
