    Fucks sake, this guy catches better waves on a life raft than I do on my surfboard. Seriously though, this was a fun to watch as any pro edit I've seen. Rented an LFT Evo back in the day and loved it. Buying that Helium one asap.

    So... how come his Evo has channels at the nose and mine doesn’t? Makes me wonder why I don’t see a lot of reviews on this board. I’m not saying I don’t have fun on it sometimes but I think he’s riding a completely different board as he should being the shaper, but why didn’t I get that when I bought it?

    • @wolf-yw9wk
      @wolf-yw9wk 3 года назад +1

      it’s probably a prototype that he was working on. he’s always trying new things. could have been an early version and realized that having the channels up that far most likely isn’t good for going into turns. u can see him chop out on a few turns as well. channels lock u into a path and when there’s any chatter on the wave face not ideal to ride on. my guess is he was messing around w it and realized by the time the board came out he needed to get rid of them.

    Hi, I know they say to ride this as short as possible....but has anyone got thoughts of riding a longer one in super small waves in place of longboard......just asking as there is a 6'2 for sale 2nd hand (can't really test ride it) but I'm only 75kgs...hmmm not sure.

    • @DeforestLCooper
      @DeforestLCooper  4 года назад +1

      I would say definitely yes. Tomo's vader and evo are based off of Bob Simmons 9ft keel fin boards. Its basically a miniaturized more high performance version of those boards. Tomo mentioned in an interview that the ratios on the vader (and evo i believe) can be stretched out to a 9ft or 10ft board and still be functional. So i definitely think you can ride an oversized evo in place of a longboard.

    • @DeforestLCooper
      @DeforestLCooper  2 года назад

      Not sure what the artist is mate? But it definitely makes me want an Evo too. lol. The new "Revo" is actually becoming more of a favorite than the Evo. Its a little longer, a bit more tapered rail and pulled in tail too. You should give it a look. I've been having a lot of fun on it. :)

    • @DeforestLCooper
      @DeforestLCooper  3 года назад +1

      Yellow ones go better. They're a little more long in tooth if ya know what i mean. A little more magic in those ones.

      Neil Young no. Those are early xtr models. 👍

  • @ThePokersurfer

    Clearly as I've concluded the Evo's nose template is too wide thus limiting vertical surfing much like a fish ....... watch carefully as even the great Daniel has to nurse the turns. He should've went back to drawing board to refine it IMHO.

    • @CainanParker

      I definitely found that with mine. I had no issues laying carves out on a face but tight turns, especially bottoms turns, are borderline impossible
