I've been singing this song since Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, trying to switch between chest and head voice the way he does, but unfortunately I haven't succeeded, it's really complicated. It's Years and Years, Justing Bieber etc. put together in one artist. Far too youthful for me, but I'm surprisingly fond of this song, haha.
I think the harmonizer/vocoder/pre-recorded vocals was always the plan for this song, so that he is actually singing along with them, which is the impressive thing about it, deliberately.
Eurovision rules don't allow filters and such indeed, but it doesn't mean regional contests do the same, Norway allows it, Italy also, so it wouldn't be completely unheard of. :)
You have to sing live in Melodi grand prix first of all so don’t know why people are doubting that it’s live, you can clearly hear it’s live and hear some places where he is a tiny bit of pitch so it’s not autotune. In the chorus there is this backing track with an effect on it and he is singing live over it with no effect on his actual live vocal. They just need to turn the backing track down a bit, I hope they will in Liverpool.
Hi, love from Denmark! Right now my city has no electricity because of storm, but I have a good time with a powerbank and your video! THANK YOU SO MUCH!🤍🤍
I think it’s a good song, l like the lyrics…”if we could go back to the start, you’d still be breaking my heart “ I agree it’s about the way it’s preformed live but this is stuck in my head and l think it’s going to do well. Loving your reviews Georgina x
I'm gonna say they're pre-recorded effects which he has to time perfectly. You need to react to Jann - Gladiator in the Polish finals, it'll blow your mind ;)
This is totally *adorable*, but I agree with the "aimed at a younger audience" comment. Not sure it was the right choice for "grown-up" Eurovision but I think it's going to be my guilty pleasure of the year.
Really interesting - I was also confused when I first heard this live xD Then I was wandering - what would Georgina say to these extra Vocal things in there haha But this song is proper grown on me the last week :)
It just sounds like the track is full of pre-recorded backing vocals. The digitised vocals in the chorus are all on the track, with only lead vocal in head voice being live. Although I'm not convinced a lot of that performance was live. I'm personally not a fan of them allowing pre-recorded vocals on the main show now. They can really disguise a weak vocal performance (even though the rules say they're not allowed to "unduly assist" the lead vocal.
Prerecording would be very unusual on this TV station! I'm not saying it couldn't happen! But I'm doubting it with my whole heart! 😉 Some of the other artists would have done better, if it really WAS prerecorded! 😆 Three of the songs, lost IMO, do to the singers not hitting the notes clear enough in the live show. As I understand, this was some sort of harmonizer. You can like the song it or not. And the musical gimmick or not. But you have to have real strong evidence, for me to believe it was some kind of autotune or prerecording! Also it does sound a wee bit different from his recorded song, and as I remember: from the first time he sung it live, to the second time he sung it (before the last voting, when the three finalists had to sing the song again).
Yeah I think I agree, the high parts need some live backing vocals to give it some oomph. Otherwise it sounds a bit like, thats not his fault its just the song needs those extra layers in places.
this song won the ESC back in 2000, yes 2000 twenty-three years ago! Take your time and listen from 2:30 thank you!!! If anything ‘breaking my heart’ is ESC’ish in this live version compared to the original studio version. But haters are always gonna hate. In fact that is the quality seal of this song!! Bad songs are never hated upon because people don’t feel intimitated. Good songs are, and this is one of them! Heard some of the contributions for this years ESC and to be honest after going to be dragged through 37 songs protestsongs, eastern european goat hearding calls, a spanish yeller capable af producing the same sounds you would expect to hear when a pair of camel balls getting caught between two sledgehammers, I have to honest that this song and norwegian contribution are the only ones leaging a smile on my face.. ruclips.net/video/F-JwiYlg5Gc/видео.html
imo I wish that he use less of the pre-recorder when he's singing live in Eurovision, cuz it sounds like he's not even singing and that it sounds a bit autotuned. Looking forward to your reaction to Italy, Estonia, Czechia and others 😄
Whatever he did, it didn't go well 😅 I had to go back and check the dansk melodigrandprix Performance because the Eurovision one was so bad.. I didn't follow the melodigrandprix but I think we didn't choose right 😂
He is massively into K-POP hes main audience is South Korea. He is very succesful over-there and preforming with BTS I think they are called and many more groups 🙏🏼
I'm interested to see if they might have to change some of the vocal effects before the live shows in Liverpool, since effects on the lead vocal isn't quite allowed in Eurovision
I really like this song a lot but it's very on trend which I don't think is necessarily very eurovision. Also the lyrics really don't say an awful lot!
The song can be nice - but - its too much processed voice.. autotunes.. not really singing.. . its like a human algorithm on stage... and bit bizarre that a 25 year old one acts like a 15 cartoon teen - sorry 0 points for Denmark 2023 ...I dont like human robots singing
You're a complete parody of yourself by now. Where does the vocal coach part come in? Most of what you say requires zero expertise. Head voice was vocoder duh! Do you realise this? Lol
I don't like the song. He sang this song a year ago in South Korea and there was talk if it would be disqualified at the competition, but it was approved. I hope Eurovision disqualifies it.
It was at risk of a dq under the much stricter Danish mgp rules. It had always been allowed under actual Eurovision rules, given that the performance was in October - and as long as a song was released September the prior year at the earliest, it's allowed in Eurovision.
Not a fan of this entry. I don’t think it will be the worst this year but I just fail to see it’s appeal to the televote and juries, it’s very generic and forgettable and the effects are quite irritating. Maybe the juries will like it but it just can’t see it being popular with the viewers at home.
Hi..can i suggest a good singer from malaysia..ernie zakri..she is also a vocal coach.. 1. AJL35 title Gundah - she composed the song - won Vocal award - she sang while crying but not affecting her vocal - m.ruclips.net/video/8PhhBcoUtnU/видео.html 2. TV show title Misteri - she had flu this time n sound nasally but still slays - most difficult song - m.ruclips.net/video/oNslg_FqdlE/видео.html 3. Ajl34 ku bersuara -epic performance ruclips.net/video/kxq3TV4Wyag/видео.html Thank you
There is no autotune. It's a vocoder effect on the backing track you can actually hear him match live if you listen closely. (because he is a little off pitch at certain spots)
Does nothing for me. I am not impressed with the excessive use of effects on the vocals. It sound as if he is singing to a stacked pre-recorded track. Vocals are OK; nothing than any average singer would not be able to do. There is nothing about this song that stays with me. I do not think he stands a chance with some of the vocal performances we have already heard and what is coming.
I have to say as a Dane Zzz Zzz Zzzz.....Can we please just have great singers and not make it some political statement. No hate to anyone but it's just so generic and unoriginal the music, it's all about some image or cause.
My last place so far. I feel like he does't even have to be on stage and nothing would change if he wasn't. Almost no live singing. If he sang live properly I think it would break our ears and I will be believing this until I really hear him sing to proove me wrong.

That's not impressive at all.
I love this song and im 44. It's in my top 5 right now...
The Eurovision rules allow pre-recorded backing vocals, but no changes made to live singing.
Eurovision rules don't allow filters and such indeed, but it doesn't mean regional contests do the same, Norway allows it, Italy also, so it wouldn't be completely unheard of. :)
@@ohwhatever Yes, you are correct here, but in Eurovision national performances don't matter at all, it's all about what's gonna happen in Liverpool
Liked it form the start. Such a feel good song! Top 10 material.
I think its a pre-recorded vocoder and he's singing on top of it
You have to sing live in Melodi grand prix first of all so don’t know why people are doubting that it’s live, you can clearly hear it’s live and hear some places where he is a tiny bit of pitch so it’s not autotune. oooh, so it is a backing track with an effect I was confused at first, then I thought of this.
It is very catchy and his voice is cute. I think it will be stronger in the night.
I was so waiting for this! Thanks for the reaction!
Georgina, I keep thinking to last year's Denmark reaction, when your daughter reacted with you. Blessings to you and your family❤️

I found myself humming this to myself a couple of times. I think he'll qualify for Denmark.

Im in my 50' s and I absolutely love this ( and all his other songs ;)
My favorite❤️💔❤️
My favourite 😻
georgina, the "denmark heats" is called a national final. they are called national finals. winner of the danish national final
Pre recorded backing vocals are allowed at Eurovision since last year so probably he will keep those vocoder vocals
Really interesting - I was also confused when I first heard this live xD
Then I was wandering - what would Georgina say to these extra Vocal things in there haha

Personally my favourite song from the whole competition. I hope he wins !!

His ginger dancer is gorgeous. The girl standing closest to him during the act and he sprays her jacket with something.
Fun fact: he is from the Faroe Islands 🇫🇴
He’s too adorable 🥰
Bro sounds like a robot

It's very trendy and Tiktok-y. Not the best, you can barely understand a word.
His English is the best no, but he is capable of singing the lyrics!
All songs are sung live
Hi will you do Jann- gladiator reactions? is a Polish proposal for Eurovision, he is a favorite
I'm not exactly a fan of these poppy tik tok stars, but this song is great
when troye sivan and charlie puth had a child:
btw he seems polite and cute, hope he will qualifier to the final
At least a little bit of a banger
imo I wish that he use less of the pre-recorder when he's singing live in Eurovision, cuz it sounds like he's not even singing and that it sounds a bit autotuned.

The vocoder part reminds me of Greece's entry last yr.
or whatever they are using lol
im writing as listening... yes Amanda lol
First time I heard I was like is this Troye Sivan?

Charlie Puth - Left& Right. Only me?
Me too, but i still adore this song
im so excited for your reaction to bridges i think you'll love it!!
yeah i doubt we come in the final with this one either so hope for a better danish song next year. its better than last years song though
Industry plants have made it to eurovision
I still don't get why people call him an industry plant. like what's so negative about it?
To me it's okay but quite forgettable, I think Generation Z viewers would love it though. Also apparently he's 25??!
well it says else where he is 20 xD
and apparently he has white pants😱 And?? Does it play any significant role how old he is??
@@jonathanjoensen2679 Just that he looks about 14 lol
I thought he was 18. 😱

Somehow he gives a kpop vibes. But at the same time it feels like Ollie London. Idk
i think he will qualify but wil end up low in the final
You're a complete parody of yourself by now. Where does the vocal coach part come in? Most of what you say requires zero expertise. Head voice was vocoder duh! Do you realise this? Lol
Honestly no Eurovision songs have excited me so far, maybe Spain because of the meaning behind the song?
I’m not really a huge fan of the song, it feels too much like it’s autotuned
There is no auto tune in dmgp though so don't worry
Listen to what the lady says in this video!
There is a huge difference between autotune and background vocoder
I don't like the song. He sang this song a year ago in South Korea and there was talk if it would be disqualified at the competition, but it was approved. I hope Eurovision disqualifies it.

Was a bit messy honestly, performance and vocals. Probably one of the low placers this year.
Too auto tuned. Defo NQ. But I like the rhythm, reminds me of heartstopper
There is no autotune. It's a vocoder effect on the backing track you can actually hear him match live if you listen closely. (because he is a little off pitch at certain spots)
Have you even listened to what she is saying here on this video??
atutotune on fire 🔥
This song just sounds messy to me, too much going on. All over the place.

Too much autotune

I love how politically correct she is.
-She doesn't like the song at all
-Also she: ""I don't know"
That’s not being politically correct, that’s just being respectful
This is my least favorite thus far. I really dont like this one at all 😬, i think it (could) be good without that abhorrent filter vocaloid thing
