Thank you so much for all your kind words about the video 💜 I had the pleasure of directing, filming & editing the video and hearing you say so many kind things about it has really made my day, thank you 💜
Great job, very nice colours and lighting. Are you involved on stage in Liverpool as well ? If so, make this song stand out even more with the NewRetroWave looks we saw in the video. This song, with the Dutch entry stands out, each in their own unique ways.
I'm so happy you like it 💖 Lots of Australians are excited that Voyager is going to Eurovision this year because they won the televote last year and their live performances are excellent! They have over 20 years under their belt as a band and really represent Australian rock music 🤟 Lots of love from Australia💚💛
@@KateyMoseley 3rd time? I thought the same, but apparently Voyager have submitted a song every year since Australia have been in Eurovision 😳 I’m a huge fan to start with, but their dedication is next level! Especially after they were robbed last year…..who could blame them if they’d given up after that, but nope, straight back with an absolute banger!
As an Aussie I still can't get used to Australia being in Eurovision, unless they expand the competition and call it global vision it would make sense.
@@iggyblitz8739 it's called Eurovision not because of Europe but from worldwide television networking system called Eurovision that associates television companies from all around the world. It was created in Europe by European Broadcasting Union that's why it's called Eurovision.
This is finally us. We have a band culture and our entries have never reflected what the majority of us listen to. So exciting to see them and we have something the other bands don't have (other than an immigration lawyer out front) we have a kick-arse female guitarist. I am so proud of Voyager (the first Western Australians to go - hence the WA tourism ad style clip) they are amazing.
That's what was so embarrassing about sending Guy Sebastion over.. A contest winner from a decade ago, when Australia has some of the best bands in the world.. Like just walk down the street of Sydney/Melbourne or a smaller rural town, and you'll hear amazing music in any genre.
It really is. It's certainly my favourite this year. I think it is being overlooked massively and when performed live will blow people away. Phenomenal entry.
I'm from Canada and I can tell you. They weren't winding you up, when they said this was good! I just watched you the whole time and your face said it all. 🤜🤛🎶🎙🎶
I love the guys at Voyager, I've met the manager a couple of times and she cannot speak highly enough of them! I cannot wait to see how they're recived at Eurovision, they're amazing!
This is literally my 2nd favourite song of Eurovision 2023! It's being so badly slept on by the masses, and I love it, because when they perform live, people will realise just how incredible they are and it will blow everyone away! This is stadium rock, so it's going to slay.
So glad you loved it there has been a lot of negativity about this song which frankly baffles me. The way you broke the song down and can appreciate the different elements in the song and not cringe like so many others have is greatly appreciated. The different elements work really well so I say why not! So many reactors expect a certain sound and when that does not happen they don’t like it. We know this won’t win Eurovision but it’s a good song that deserves to be there and the band are huge Eurovision fans so their dream is coming true. Voyager will bring it come May to the stage as they have 20 plus years experience. Go Aussie!!! 🇦🇺
What kind of negativity? I don't like the artificial sound, especially when it comes to the vocals and when I first heard it, at the beginning of the song I thought it might be the most horrible thing ever. But when the actual groove sets in it got something to it and at the end of the song I really liked it. Overall it's easily the best in this competition, I'm curious if that will do them any good in the ranking ...or if they even get through the semi final.
@@DerEchteBoldThe beginning was the best part in my book, but I am.more of an electronic music fan than heavy metal, and true electronic music is not artificial at all.
“True electronic music is not artificial at all”🤨 You do realise that what you just said is like saying “True firewood is not a natural product at all” don’t you? Electronic music is the very DEFINITION of artificial. 🤦🏻♂️
Great to see a commentator that likes the Aussie entry :) (I am from Aus). In terms of the 'story'... I have seen many commentators feeling a little confused/unsure about it. I feel like maybe the artists have left it a bit vague for people to put their own personal interpretation onto the song. One thing that appears clear enough is that the core of the song is about a person wanting to be assured that 'it's gonna be alright' by a significant other person in their life (e.g., close friend, family member, or lover). What exactly this person is concerned about, is up to the audience to decide and apply to something that resonates with themselves (this is just my personal opinion, obviously, and I may be wrong!). The early verses in the song are: "Have you ever shut all the open doors? Have you ever just walked out on your own? Have you ever just lost your mind. When you try to unwind? Or are you coming right back for more?". I think this could be applied to a wide range of situations where a person is experiencing a big change in their life (e.g., leaving one's career, a relationship break up, or other things). Later verses also have the same kind of vaguely-applicable-to-wide-range-of-life-changing-circumstances interpretation: "Have you ever been alone too much? Have you ever prayed for human touch? Have you ever just lost a little part of you, To find a little something new?". It seems that the more standard Eurovision song approach is to have lyrics designed to be a bit more directly interpretable... so it will be interesting to see how this song goes with the voting public at the event. My fingers and toes are crossed for Voyager that they go well!
I loved this song the minute I heard it… as you said, I love his strong voice, his hair and the great electronic music… both great voices and I love the mixture of rock and ballad… a very memorable song ❤️
Ah yes, I've been waiting for a review by a voice coach to this song! The reviews have been so mixed, and so I was looking forward to an expert opinion to confirm some of my thoughts on it, and now we have it. Agree that the production value both on the song and the video is great, and the skill of these musicians really shines through. Thank you for sharing! 🇦🇺
Thanks for your insightful review! It's great to watch someone who can appreciate and analyse the technical aspects of the composition and performance. This is such an intelligent composition and it's gratifying to see others acknowledge that.... Plus it's a banger!!!!
The instrument he plays after the guitar 🎸 solo is a keytar. Very much an instrument that brings in that 80’s rock influences. Not many artists use it. I am so glad to hear that you like it! So happy that Voyager was chosen to represent us in Australia! Our first ever band we have sent. (Even though we had a slight connection to Finland last year because one of their members lives in my hometown) I love that the song showcases so many different genres. It really makes it different for Eurovision. Like you think it would not work putting so many influences in one 3 minute song but it does. It really grows on you. The film clip was filmed in Western Australia where the band is from. The band is very experienced and has been performing together since 1999.
Lady Gaga is a huge proponent of the Keytar 😎 and The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps used a Keytar solo in their tied-for-2nd-place program at world championships
Showcasing some gorgeous Western Australian locations in the film clip! Representing WA on the world stage like the pros they are! Good Luck to voyager from my hometown of Perth ❤️
I agree with you totally- this song has the best production team behind it in editing of the video and sound, everything is done so profeccional it makes it really enjoyable to watch and listen to. I like this song and really like the band and all the music genres they've mixed alltogether to create quite a catchy song. I love listening it on repeat. One of my favorites this year.
I agree with your review more than the wiwibloggs review who loved the verses but were underwhelmed by the chorus. I really enjoy the song and since Voyager has been around forever, they have the experience to put on an epic stage show. This is going to blow the other entries away!!

I love this - but is it too rock for ESC? Would love to have seen the battle of the (stereo?) limiters pushing the lead vocal lower than the bv's whilst squashing the drums giving the kit little dynamic. Alongside the six string bass there's ultra low dry synth sabs & swoops that's never gonna be heard on a flatscreen tv. I'm listening on AKG reference headphones wondering how this is gonna be mixed for tv. Great performance and accomplished musicians. Good Luck --
