They are very light and what they are doing is much more about balance and technique, than it is about strenght. Let's see them to bench press, deadlifts or weighted squats. Spoiler alert: they'll do rather badly.

When the one guy kicked up into his handstand with bent legs and never locked them together, I knew he was going to lose.
He recovered like a pro the first time he almost fell though.

It isn't a perfect straddle because his body isn't parallel which gives him more leverage but still great nonetheless.
I used to think I was pretty fit when I did a 8 second straddle planche and probably tore a few things. THEN HE DOES IT FOR 28 SECONDS.
Also, remember they did a "max" handstand hold prior to it! The muscles used in planche are (almost) the same as on HS! That really is crazy!
Also, keep in mind they're all rounders. Makes you think just how much time can a ring specialist get.

Oliver Rodriguez chin up are a supination grip (palms towards you - utilises more biceps, closer grip). And pull ups are pronated grip (palms away - utilisess larger lat muscles, wider grip). Totally different exercises using different muscles.
Steven W I'm fully aware, and thank you. What I was saying, is that Nile literally meant "chin over the bar". They weren't worried about gripping the bar a certain way, they were just trying to perform max reps of getting their chin over the bar from a hang

GymPerformance the chin ups and handstand pushups are hard to judge on quality, I like your max cross suggestion though. Max handstand and straddle planche were both gymnastics strength elements

I know this was years ago, regardless - the skill and dedication to their profession is amazing. I love how they encourage each other despite competiting. I'm a huge fan and despite being American, I cheered you boys on the whole way.... (to be honest...I cheer for everyone. Everybody put in the same hard work and dedication. I'm just happy when it pays off for them)

He is of slimmer build so he is more lean but weaker, yes. Some are blessed with more muscle mass, others with higher stamina although everyone can work at that and others with lower bodyfat percentages so yes they are generally considered better looking because of a higher visibility of all the individual and smaller muscles. But thats life.

I did 28 chin ups in 7th grade and was proud to do that because a girl did 27. LOL. I wish we had gymnastics for males back in the 80's in regular school because I would have been good I think. Back then, you needed to be discovered and sponsored or start out with money, because regular school didn't offer gymnastics to males, only females.

Great job boys. Gymnastics was always my dream. I fell in love with the sport in college but never got to peruse it past two semesters. Did compete in bodybuilding until my 11th auto accident and 13th surgery kept me out of commission for three years. Best I ever achieved was second place but I was visually stunning even into my 50’s and was carded into my 40’s because my face was redone after one of the accidents. I looked 16 years old again. All of my friends were jealous and my mother put “Happy 21st Birthday Again” on my cake for 10 years because she did not want to age. She figured if I didn’t get older neither would she! Lol. Keep up the great work guys. I cannot stop watching your sexy smiling faces! 😎

So today we learned that Gymnastic guys don't know the difference between chin-ups and pull-ups
They're British; they use different terms than we do for a lot of things. They call tank tops "vests" for example; elevators=lifts.
