ABANDONED NFL Headquarters Of The San Diego Chargers Football Team

- Take an innocent peek around the old San Diego Chargers Headquarters, facilities, and practice field in San Diego, CA sitting abandoned and vacant for the last year.
The NFL's Chargers now play in Los Angeles at the Stubhub Center so this practice facility and headquarters has been sitting unused and abandoned for about a year now.
There are plans for it, so for now the lights are on and the sprinklers are still working, but much of the Chargers branding has been stripped away when the team relocated to Los Angeles. Now it's just the ghosts of football past playing on the overgrown practice field!
This is the field where the San Diego Chargers and all time NFL greats practiced including LaDanian Tomlinson, Junior Seau, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Joey Bosa, Antonio Gates and more. Lots of NFL legends and Hall Of Famers called this place home, just down the street from Jack Murphy Stadium aka Qualcomm Stadium aka SDCCDHSLDGHEI Stadium!
This was a once in a lifetime urban exploration experience! Not too many NFL properties end up abandoned and creepy! Come check out the Abandoned San Diego Chargers NFL Headquarters and practice facility!

The Something Or Other Tour. Спорт
The NFL doesnt care about its fans as long as they get money in their pockets..
Its sad really.
Yeah that's like any other business/company in modern day America. Get used to it. It is what it is.
Electricane what does that have to do with this video? 🤔
NFL don't own the teams...
Maybe they could let the fans use the abandoned facility and restore it? xD
Electricane no it was young spanos
As a chargers fan this hurt to watch.
Yes it does
Spanos didn’t care about the San Diego community all he wanted was the money for a brand new stadium. Sad!
@@Mrcharles. MONEY TALKS.... IT ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY... AND ALWAYS WILL...
Yeah I am from San Diego I was a huge fan and it hurted when they moved to L.A.
I’m a Steelers fan and this still hurts
The grass area was the main practice field. The turf area was for athletes recovering form injury. The double doors closest to the grass area was the entrance to the locker room and training rooms. The double doors closer to the turf area go to the weight room. Down the hallway to the left of the main lobby are the classrooms.
I was able to take several tours many years ago and got a really good lay of the land. So much so that I could have given a tour.
I enjoyed your vid. Thanks for the memories.
Ahh man wish we knew all that going in. Thank you for the info.
You're welcome. Great vid man.
Appreciate you, glad you enjoyed it. Jealous you got to get a real tour of the place!
#SanDiegoSuperChargers always in my heart.
This makes me so sad and angry being a true born and raised son of San Diego. Being a Chargers fan was part of our identity.
You're telling me, Its hard to find True sons and daughters of SD out side of SD.. We're a special bread my friend, Spring Valley till the day I die!
The chargers didn’t betray San Diego, Dean Spanos betrayed the city.
@Johan Nilsson It rarely ever happens.
@@Mrcharles. for sure... fuck spanus
@Johan Nilsson you clearly don’t know that’s rare.
That practice field clip gave me chills
All them championships banners must of taken forever to remove from the building 😂😂😂
😂
If the F.O. wasnt so bad I think they could've had at least one Super Bowl. Quite a few bad decisions through the years but also some Super Bowl caliber squads.
Joseph Dawisha Nate Kaeding happened
😂 weak
Yeah Kaeding was a choke artist. Also Schottenheimer getting fired and McCree's fumble.
I’m an Oakland Raiders fan. One of the best times of our lives was the whole family going down to San Diego to spend our week there great great times. I will always say Oakland & San Diego !!!!!
As an LA football fan, I agree the Chargers should have stayed in San Diego. We didn’t want them to move, either.
Seeing that bolt in the endzone was like another kick to the chest 😢😢😢
Sorry man 🙏
Deal with it! LA Chargers baybay!
@@mikel.7968 lol they goin back to San Diego the owner did sum stuff but they didn’t let the fans decide fr he kept saying they didn’t want the team in it was not true he wanted a new stadium in the people wasn’t for it so he moveed now he trying sell the team
They should turn it into a gym or recreation center.
That would be awesome
That is a really good idea that would be awesome

@@thelegendkillersshittyduff1335 that's great too.
As someone from the Los Angeles area and a Los Angeles I feel so bad for the fans of San Diego, I still think they should be in San Diego, it’s so sad that whenever they play a home game in Los Angeles, there are more fans for the visiting team then there are for the Chargers.
No different than when they were in san diego. I live in los A county and i had season tickets for years. The fans would only show up if they were winning. Charger fans have to be the least faithful of any organization sad to say. #youknowwhouare
The Rams fans are not much better they are a lot of the opposing teams fans like 40% of the other team that is sad L.A. has no heart and they always got excuses for why they don't support those teams they wanted the Raiders back and they said hello Vegas so glad they got out of California Nevada is loving on those Raiders and raider fans are very loyal they are fans until they pass away
@@ellamcclanahan9811 Mark Davis eagerly wanted to return to L.A. and you know that. He was praying for the Chargers to remain in San Diego, so that they could move to L.A. When the Chargers opted to move to L.A. then Mark Davis had no option, but to move to Las Vegas. There are more Raiders fans in L.A. than Chargers and Rams fans put together.
ITS JUST CHILDISH GAMES. There are more important things in the world than men throwing a ball. Like war. Homelessness. Disease. Et cetera
You're so enlightened.
After they lost to the Cleveland Browns, they couldn't stand the shame any longer and left town. Forever.
I agree with you, San Diego got a good fan base!
I've been in every square inch of that facility back in the 2nd and 3rd season's of it's then new use. It was absolutely beautiful, totally luxurious, hi-tech, sports medicine and regenerative equipped, secured player parking, multi-practice fields including artificial turf, huge specialty kitchen and full-time staff, and on and on and on. Like a dream.
You could live there. That's the message they wanted to get through the players heads. There is no reason for you to ever leave here. Not one.
Well it also doesn't hurt that you are in San Diego.
NFL didn't care about the Chargers, that's why they left them homeless in L.A. Now, if say the Cowboys or Packers were in the same financial situation the Chargers were in, the NFL would have definitely bailed them out.
1life To live Yep. When the Rams play. The Chargers can’t even sell out a 42,000 seat soccer stadium.

Paul McElligott not even that capacity. It's like 27,000
Very bad move by the Chargers and NFL. Why not see if 1 team in LA will work before placing 2 at once?
But they get a new stadium soooooo
good move by spanos. he can sell his chargers for a higher price in LA. But oh well.
@@ballistaz2872 pathetic right all that money wasted on a gd stadium for a fucking football team
The chargers will become the LA version of the New York Jets while the rams become the city’s version of NY giants.
@Rowdy Jr. How about the dodgers and angels? Where would you place them in?
Isn’t there a huge water problem in Cali? They should be fined for leaving the irrigation running
The drought technically ended early this year.
Probably don't want to start a fire from dry grass
Dan Fouts, Stan Humphries, Wes Chandler, Charlie Joiner, Kellen Winslow, John Jefferson ...
Some of the all-time great Chargers!
@Samir I think he was referring to that nasty offense they had in the 80's. One of the best teams to never win a ring.
Not to mention Dan Fouts being criminally underrated.
Lance Alworth
My memories start with Tobin Rote, John Hadl, Alworth, Lincoln, Ernie Ladd, McKinnan, Gary Garrison. So many great Chargers. Sid Gillman.

Make a soccer team, give that facility to the soccer team and try to get into MLS. That would be great.
One would believe the facility is still being used to some extent, as you mentioned the lights on inside, watering the grounds, the swimming pool off to the side was still full and the water appeared to look maintained, also the white vehicle parked under the awning at the beginning of the video. Cool video though, it’s nice to see places like that. Live about 20min from the stadium and never thought to go check that out. 🤙🏼
Yeah they are still keeping an eye on it. The white vehicle under the awning was actually just someone that parked there for lunch or on break or something from a nearby office. We have gone by this place many times and it's a popular shaded parking area where a lot of people seem to stop and eat lunch and things like that She just stopped and was on the phone for a bit then left.

Moving to LA has been the kiss of death for the Chargers! Good job Spanos!
Yea kiss of death. Spanos increased the value of his team by over $350 million. Spanos is crying, all the way to the bank.
Playing at Stubhub Center has helped opposing teams more than this team! The Chiefs felt like they were at back home in KC when they were playing the Chargers this past Sunday!
You shitty voters couldn’t pass a simple hotel tax to folks vacationing in SD? You’ll NEVER get another team. EVER!
@@reekkoh San Diego has more foreigners now than native San Diegans. These people came via chain migration from China and India and became US citizens. They can care less about NFL football and that's why Measure C failed. I agree that it was a no brainer to let out of towners pay a small room tax in order to build a new stadium and convention center downtown, but SD voters said no. The NFL will never return to San Diego.
Pelon don’t disagree with you there. Same reasons the PSL’s are being discounted every month that passes for the new Rams/Chargers stadium.
That small ass practice complex !!!! They needed to move 👀
The Chargers ownership was absolutely ridiculous for moving the team to LA. One of the worst moves ever.

Shitty stadium, Oakland wasn't going to build them a new stadium. What's your suggestion?
Know how you feel I’m from St.Louis I miss Football so much still a Rams fan it’s just not the same 😢
Alex Williams thanks for giving us the Rams back. Hope you enjoyed borrowing them
Rams were from LA st Louis stole them
St Louis won the Super Bowl 20 years ago and Los Angeles didn’t.
ericradford2142 That doesn’t matter. It literally makes no sense to have the rams in St. Louis. The city is deptessing and very little potential. You have no idea how much activity has been going on in LA since the rams returned to their rightful city. Literally the greatest stadium in the world is being constructed and will be complete by summer 2020. This stadium will host the olympics, World Cup matches, and all kinds of other incredible events.
Now tell me on what planet would it have been better to forego all of that for the team to remain in St. Louis where the attendance was THE WORST in the NFL.
To the rams fans that remained loyal I want to say thank you, but objectively speaking the team moving was the best move for the fans and the league as a whole.
Jimmy Jones no it wasn’t, your city is just good at ruining things. Even movies suck now so thanks l.a.
I agree with you brother, Chargers should have never moved to LA
Seems like there were rumors of opponents personnel used to watch on the hill.
The Clippers moved from San Diego to L.A. in 1984 and played in front of very small crowds at the old LA Sports Arena. When they moved to Staples Center that changed everything and they actually have a decent fan base. Same thing will happen with the LA Chargers eventually if they win.
Pelon San Diego also lost the Rockets. It’s sad but don’t blame the Chargers. There’s obviously something wrong with San Diego. Lost the Chargers and Clippers to LA and the Rockets to Houston.
@@HornedFrog619 That's right. Sometimes we forget about the Rockets. All they have down there now are the Padres which are perennial losers in a beautiful ballpark. Petco is a great venue, but it's usually less than have filled unless the Dodgers or some other club with a big fan base is in town.
Pelon Yes exactly. I work at Petco Park. Every year it’s the same shit. In April-June it’s pretty busy but once July hits it slows down a little and August and September are so dead. Hardly get around 20,000 total in the stadium. So I hate hearing San Diegans talk shit about the Chargers. They didn’t really have fans here. So what is better, staying in SD with a small fan base and no new stadium or move to a bigger sports market with a small fan base as well but get a new stadium? Sounds like a no brainer. I’m a San Diegan and I’ll always be a fan. A city don’t mean shit to me. Just a place where you live. They act like LA is on the east coast.
@@HornedFrog619 Well said. You are true fan unlike many cry babies and whiners. Hope to see you in Inglewood once the new stadium opens. I can't wait.

CHARGERS TRIVIA: In 1960, the first year of the team's playing, they were playing in Los Angeles. In 1961, they moved to San Diego.
Just curious but what was the reason that Eli Manning didn't want to play in San Diego? Looks like a nice place before the move. I am from Pittsburgh, live and die with my Steelers and had soft spot for the Chargers, except when they beat us in the AFC Championship in the mid-90's. As a lifelong Charger fan, I wish the Chargers could’ve stayed in San Diego, but don’t blame them for leaving. It’s the City of San Diego that is to blame for the Chargers leaving. The team was begging the city to help them build a new stadium, but the city wouldn’t budge. San Diego remains my favorite city in the entire country, but I’m still pissed they wouldn’t get over themselves and just build the damn stadium… but tbh, it’s not all bad bc the Chargers now play in the nicest stadium in the NFL.
