Like you, I don't put much stock in predictions, although I DID have an unexplainable experience back in the early 1980s. At the time my wife and I were living in Toronto and my parents lived 500 miles away. I was at work and at around 10 a.m. a very strong feeling came over me that something was wrong. I immediately called my wife and she reassured me all was fine. I asked her to check to make sure the door to our apartment was double locked. All through the day the feeling inside me grew. By 3 p.m. I started getting paranoid. I was SURE something was wrong or something was about to go wrong. I was starting to fear someone would push me onto the subway tracks on my way home. I can assure you I hugged those subway walls to remain safe. I was especially careful crossing streets making sure I wouldn't be hit while walking between the subway station and my apartment. Once I closed the apartment door and double locked it, I felt relief! But I still knew something was wrong and felt that way until I went to bed that evening. The following day I had completely forgotten about the horrible feeling I had had the previous day. On the following weekend my aunt from my home town was visiting Toronto so she came to visit my four brothers, my wife and me at my apartment. That is when she announced that my mother was in intensive care following a massive heart attack. My mom did not want to worry us, so she asked our dad not to tell us. At that time I did not remember the bad feeling I had earlier in the week. Then when everyone was gone my wife reminded me of the feeling I had earlier in the week. It turns out I started having that bad feeling the very same days and AT THE VERY SAME TIME as my mother was having her massive heart attack! I knew then that my horrible feeling was justified because something horribly wrong had been going on that day! So yes, premonitions, for lack of a better word, do exist. I don't believe that just anyone can have them though.
I agree. I've had one on a much smaller scale. Back at summer camp when I was a kid, we would have a one hour siesta after lunch. After we got back to the cabin, I had this horrible feeling. The weather was cloudy, but there were no other signs. While most of my cabinmates were in swimsuits and barefeet, I kept my shoes on, and my small backpack ready. Few minutes later we found ourselves having to flee to a better shelter due to a severe storm. Half my cabinmates had to run in flip flops with debris flying everywhere. One girl twisted her ankle and had to be carried. Meanwhile I didn't have any issues due to me having kept my sneakers on. Another incident was right before a certain pandemic hit the fan here. I was to be on spring break that next week. I had been hearing those news stories about that disease, and I had already been taking precautions (per my mom's request). But I took a big extra one that gave me peace of mind later: I packed all of my valuables, anything that I would be sad to lose, when I went home for spring break from university. I had this horrible feeling that this disease was worse than what they were saying and there was a possibility they may not let us back to school after break. That is why I packed all my valuables in my car before I headed home. I had no idea how bad it was going to get, I just had that feeling that things were about to get really bad. I was right, except they did let dorm residents back to pack. Considering the horror stories I've heard about other universities (the staff packing stuff, items being lost/stolen, etc), my fears were well founded even if my uni allowed students to pack up their rooms on their own.
I had one on a smaller scale about 8 or 9 years back. My partner was on his way to visit his family for a funeral. I had a very bad feeling at work that something bad would happen. Not ten minutes later he called and told me he had ran off the road. Fortunately there wasn’t much of a ditch and no harm was done. It was weird.
Remember when Chris Watts killed his pregnant wife and two daughters? Well during the time that he murdered his wife, Shannons suddenly woke up and felt something go in her that told her that Shannon died or that something terrible had happened! so she woke up before anyone ever told her or knew that her daughter was missing! She soon found out she was missing and then was murdered
For my semester project I am doing my research on Titanic with a focus on her people. Your videos are incredible. I only found your channel maybe two weeks ago and I'm very impressed. I thought I was a Titanic expert turns out I am not, far from it in fact, though my professor seems to love her story from what I've told him so far. You're the expert though, and I mean that most sincerely. One of the things I have come across is that out all the survivor accounts I have read, they all said the same thing- they saw a ship's lights in the distance and we both know which ship that was. My twenty-five years of research have barely scratched the surface, your videos and information are a huge help to me. Thank you!
I enjoy your videos and you obviously put in a lot of work on researching the subject matter you cover. Also the wood paneling on the wall behind you reminds me of my own abusive childhood.
My youngest child just turned 2, still a literal baby. It's so sad especially since she should've been in the best position to survive. But you can't blame her poor frightened parents either who wouldn't have been able to live with themselves knowing the didn't at least search for their son. So incredibly tragic for all involved. Leaving your husband and older sons on a doomed ship just must've been a gutting feeling.
@Jazmin I can see your point, but at that time families really tried to stick together... I just think they were in a blinding state of sheer alarmed panic. They were used to servants handling crises. So they logically couldn't reason that there'd be no boats left if they didn't get the daughter off ASAP. No one REALLY comprehended the seriousness until it was nearly impossible to escape the doomed ship. It's easy to judge from our positions of advanced knowledge and we're obviously not in theirs... It's not like they were stupid or malicious, just human. That's what makes it tragic.
I haven’t even gotten through this video all the way yet but I already know this had to be hard for you to research about and make into a video. It’s awfully gracious of you to shine some light on these almost willfully forgotten victims. As a kid, I would have devoured your videos (well as an adult too 😂) but you provide so much more information than I got my hands on. I appreciate the work you put in to these videos. Thanks, friend!
Must be so tragic for the children that survived to have to live with the trauma of that night's experience. Great video as always on a subject I can never get enough of. Want to leave a video suggestion of trying to look at the history of how various films have portrayed the Titanic over the years. I even wrote a college essay on how Nazi Germany even tried to put together a blockbuster film about the Titanic sinking in order to vilify British aristocratic. The story behind the nightmare production of that film, it's eventual failure, and what happened to the vessel that was used to portray the Titanic in that film is a really interesting tale.
@@crystalbethseizetheday8669 probably bcs America hadn’t declared war yet and H had hope in the US being very antisemitic and racist as well having enough supporters to even be buddies with them. He literally wrote the Nuremberg laws along the Jim Crow laws. Attitudes weren’t so dissimilar at the time. What made them enemies wasn’t necessary as ideological as the winning Allies like to portray in history. It was much more realpolitik and the struggle over who was the domineering world power than the atrocities committed by the N*zis. The Allied forces could also have freed the camps sooner but they weren’t a priority. Only when convenient they became a PR thing to fully declare moral victory, too. History gets written by the victors.
The story of lookout Frederick Fleet is an interesting but sad one. He survived the sinking, and both WW1 and WW2. In 1964 his wife passed away, and her brother evicted him from the house. He returned in the January of 65 and hung himself. He was buried in a Paupers grave, and never received a headstone until 1993 due to funding. The Titanic is engraved on said stone. Very sad.
I was waiting the story about the head of doll, which was found by Robert Ballard 1986. I think that I once read speculation, that it could have belonged to Lorraine Allison, the only child victim from first class. Did the doll sink together with Lorraine to bottom of ocean, and thats why the head of doll was found on debris field near the wreck?
If you must cover a specific person, I can think of few better and more interesting than Father Francis Browne, who took the only known surviving photos of life on Titanic. His departure at Queenstown (now Cobb) Ireland after about a day on board is the only reason we have these remarkable photos.
Also the fact how strongly his superior from Jesuit order responded to his request to stay on the ship "Get off this ship" think it's another interesting story
It would be interesting to see a video on what if Titanic hadn’t sunk. Whilst it’s an absolute tragedy, it also drove a marked improvement in safety and technology for ships to try to ensure this never happened again. How much farther back could we be if the ship hadn’t sunk and shocked the board of international trade and others into updating their safety standards and shocked the builders and shipping lines into looking for new safety features?

I agree with your comment so much! 2nd class is almost a mystery zone when it comes to the history of the Titanic. Also, there are so few pictures of 2nd class spaces on the Olympic. There is a famous picture of Lawrence Beesley in the FIRST Class gymnasium taken on the Titanic, he was a 2nd class passenger but apparently they were allowed to tour the first class sections before sailing. RE that short lived BLUE STAR LINE venture? Titanic II? I often thought "How sad; Id only afford a 2nd class passage"!
2nd class passengers were mostly confined to 2nd class spaces. Most of which were in the stern section of the ship. During the voyage it’s highly unlikely the 2nd class passengers would have crossed into 1st or 3rd class for that matter. There is one gray area that I’m still researching. There was a play room for children aboard Titanic. Eva Hart talked about it in quite a few of her interviews. Studying Titanic’s deck plans I’ve always only found one play room, or nursery. So it’s possible that 1st and 2nd class passenger children may have played together.
@@roberts.arnone1808 Thanks for your informative reply. Yes, the second class space on the Titanic was very condensed; all located from the boat-deck downwards under and behind the 4th funnel. As I mentioned, before sailing second class passengers were allowed access to first class, probably in the hopes that some of them would decide to upgrade their tickets. There was no official playroom or nursery on the Titanic (curious what you have seen in a blueprint). However, in first class the starboard side Palm Court was designated as the unofficial children's playroom. When Eva Heart went on about a playroom, her mind was probably (like any child) embellishing the realty. I assume in 2nd class the children (& their caregivers) probably set up an area in one of the enclosed promenade spaces or perhaps set up shop in a lower level staircase foyer. There was no official playroom on the Titanic though, the Britannic DEFINIETLY had one which was a mirror image of the gymnasium on the boat deck.
You know what also fascinates me about the second class spaces? The LACK of furniture! Where were these passengers expected to sit! Aside from the library and smoking room (off bounds to only men) ... the furniture is sparse!
Many years ago I attended an exibition organized by Cleas-Göran Wetterholm where Beatrice Sandström attended as a special guest. She was one of the Titanic children from 3rd class.

His story is very interesting. There's a few vids under the heading of "John Harper Titanic Hero" that explain his heroics. Maybe you could do one yourself. Anyway, I am quite impressed with your channel. I'm subscribed and I look forward to seeing more vids!
I have an idea for you. What if the SS New York collided with Titanic? Would it have been enough to put the ship out of commission before her maiden voyage even begun, and how would White Star deal with the fallout from passengers having to refund all that booked passage on Titanic? How long would it have taken to patch her up and restart the postponed maiden voyage at a later date, and might it have been possible that Olympic may also have risked colliding with an iceberg in the same area Titanic would, if she had to cover for her sister till she was repaired? or the ship that Titanic replaced on the transatlantic schedule, either Majestic or Teutonic?
Grest video, Sam! You can tell that you really put a lot of time, thought amd effort into everything you do. No idea what discord is, but perhaps I'll learn!
i have heard a few radio interviews with eva hart. she was also friends with phil brady on radio station 3aw in melbourne australia and they talked on air a lot. i believe she said a few times her mother slept in a deck chair. she felt very strongly about her premonition and it might haver saved the two of them.
I agree there a couple of things you could see she found difficult to talk about, and things that utterly frustrated her, like the distress rocket's being fired, I like the way she said "you would have thought in the middle of the Atlantic in the middle of night rocket's must mean trouble"
I wonder how many would have been saved had the lifeboat drill not been cancelled. Maybe the planned drill would have cleared up some of the confusion around the "women and children first/ only" debate. Maybe the crew could have had the boats loaded and launched more efficiently.
Couple children died not long after the sinking. Mary Nakid a 3rd class passenger emigrated from Lebanon *some sources say it was Austria* was 18 months old when Titanic sank and when she survived. She sadly perished from meningitis couple months later at age 2. Robert Spedden 1st class and known in the famous photo of a boy spinning a top on the deck-died three years after Titanic sank on August 1915 from being struck by an automobile at age 9. Crazy thing is both him and Ebba Andersson were 6 years old during the Titanic sinking, and their birthdays was in November 1905.

3. What if the engines were not shut off during the sinking
4. Father Thomas Byles who prayed with passengers on the sinking Titanic
5. What happened to the dogs on Titanic and how John Jacob Astor allegedly let them out (specifically the Astor's dog I think it's name was Kitty or something)
@@eltiofresca4998 ?? what Roblox? cause you don't need that good of a computer for Roblox
Wierd My windows ten runs amazingly it probably doesn't make a difference if it is windows 10 the CPU and motherboard and stuff make that decision
Hi
@@maritimehistorian2642 Why play roblox when he has a vr set and can play an actual vr simulator of the sinking. It would be way more realisitc.
Great video. You have a great knack for narration, You have facts, too the point, not to fast and not too slow and with just the right amount of back stories. Thanks for posting......
Happy St.Patricks day from Ireland. ☘☘☘. I've seen a few comments suggesting the History Channel should hire you , I actually think you are better than the History Channel , so informative , things i would have never known . Keep the videos coming. 👍. Again happy St. Patricks day to you , your family and all your viewers ☘☘☘
Happy Saint Patrick's Day from Australia!
Keep up the good work and I have a vid idea what if the titanic turned to starboard instead of port
It is so sad however his dad did not make it with her but I'm so glad that her mom and ever survived I think Eva's mom is a hero
Second class men had the worst chance of survival with 92% of the second class men dying, only 14 out of the 168 second class men onboard survived.
No it's not he should have listened to his wife hed still be alive.
Excellent choice of topic! I love watching these
Would you be interested in doing a video dedicated to the Titanic's officers? I absolutely love your videos!
On his to do list
Thanks for the video Sam. Keep up the great work. Am hoping to visit Scarborough UK, in the near future home place of 6th Officer James Paul Moody.
Why just the British Aristocratic out of interest? Plenty of wealthy American passengers aboard?
I think adding the story of Sidney Leslie Goodwin to this video would have been cool
Very sad.
Thanks for the content
Great videos wish they were a bit longer
Can you also do a video about the man who was on the wheel during the night the titanic sank
Great videos all are so interesting great job
I was waiting the story about the head of doll, which was found by Robert Ballard 1986. I think that I once read speculation, that it could have belonged to Lorraine Allison, the only child victim from first class. Did the doll sink together with Lorraine to bottom of ocean, and thats why the head of doll was found on debris field near the wreck?
Seriously love your videos. I appreciate all the research you do.
I enjoy this channel way to much lol so happy I came across it😊
Great content man! Just started watching your videos keep up the great work!
This is a great channel.
If you must cover a specific person, I can think of few better and more interesting than Father Francis Browne, who took the only known surviving photos of life on Titanic. His departure at Queenstown (now Cobb) Ireland after about a day on board is the only reason we have these remarkable photos.
Also the fact how strongly his superior from Jesuit order responded to his request to stay on the ship
"Get off this ship" think it's another interesting story
It would be interesting to see a video on what if Titanic hadn’t sunk. Whilst it’s an absolute tragedy, it also drove a marked improvement in safety and technology for ships to try to ensure this never happened again. How much farther back could we be if the ship hadn’t sunk and shocked the board of international trade and others into updating their safety standards and shocked the builders and shipping lines into looking for new safety features?
Someone did make a video on it
Do a story over Edith Russel and her tiny pig! She interacted with the children, I'm surprised you didn't put that in this video. :O
Started a painting of Titanic headed toward the iceberg today. Also planning a model build soon with paper and card stock.
Can you do a video on the earlier submarines, the ones used during the civil war perhaps? Or historic plane crashes in the ocean?
the Only sub i know at the time was the Hunley , but i recall the turtle a wooden sub made in the revolutionary war Maybe that is a topic he can do Also the Fate of the Monotor and the Mermack
I think we should crowdfund a trip for Historic Travels to visit the Titanic
Yes
Great job again Sam! So very sad about all the children lost in the sinking. 😔
I was able to watch Rachel's video of the last 1st class supper she made for you. It was really great and looked delicious! 😋 I was glad that Rosie got to partake too! Lol! Have a idea about a possible video. How about all of the animals on the Titanic including the ships Cat.
Also how do you connect to the discord your going to do about the Titanic? Thanks again Sam for all your efforts! So informative and educational! I really look forward to everything you present! 😊👍
Unsure if you take random video ideas from random commentors, but if you are looking for another Titanic topic, I would LOVE something on the Addergoole 14. Hope I'm not crossing a line. Love your videos.
So i just happened onto your videos, i want to thank you for all the fantastic content and ,seemingly, reliable info on all things Titanic, really awesome! Obviously your very interested in ships and their historic imprints...i just watched an amazing documentary on the Wahine(hope im spelling it correctly)a luxury ferryboat that foundered off of Barretts Reef in New Zealand, if you havent watched any content on this event i really think you would find it interesting, thanks again and i look forward to enjoying your channel 👍
Thankyou for sharing this
Do a video about the Estonia
It's so hard to find information about the 2nd class. Where could they go. Where couldn't they go.
Yes it is.
I just go through and like all his videos. I don't care, he's a nice enough guy. Kinda the sort of person you want to see succeed
Wholesome content and comment!
Greets from Australia.
I enjoy your videos mate !
It's good to see new videos from you.
Have you thought about doing a video about the Morse Code messages/ correspondence in the final hours?
Such as the Phillips shouting "You Fool!" At the Frankfurt.
Or looking for help from Virginian, Olympic, etc
Can you do a video on if the titanic stern stayed afloat after it broke in half
Hi Sam - Here's a suggestion for a video - what happened to the hikers at the Dyatlov Pass in 1959. I would love to know what you think about it.
Hey man love your stuff can you Mabye do more vids on non titanic ship wrecks I love studying the titanic but I think it would be interesting to see some other ships story’s mabye some land disasters too like Mt st Hellenes keep up the good work?
So enjoy your videos! Do you think you could do one sometime of any remnants, if any, that there are in Titanic’s cargo holds?
I just went to watch your sister's video. What a nice thing for her to do...and the meal looked delicious!! 😋
Rosie was adorable, as usual. 🤗
😊 thank you
Hi love the channel.need to go to bed, time difference. All the best..From across the waves.will watch BST tomorrow
Orepainium is always telling people not to spam during live streams! I know why he's doing it but people are just trying to get their question acknowledged and if a question is being repeated people are just really enthusiastic for the stream. And sometimes he can be a little aggressive with his replies and don't need to be told repeatedly
Ikr
I know I am taking care of it. I cant always pay attention to it during the live streams but I will deal with it. He will be better in the future.
Poor young children 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺♥♥♥
Very good video!👍Now look up the story of Nana Harper. She was 6 years old when her father, John Harper, put her into lifeboat 11, with her caretaker. John Harper stayed behind.
You could do a story about the unknown baby and his little shoes. He eventually was named but his story is a sad but interesting one.
Video Idea: Discuss the meal offerings on the Titanic by class.
Fantastic job
Grest video, Sam! You can tell that you really put a lot of time, thought amd effort into everything you do. No idea what discord is, but perhaps I'll learn!
i have heard a few radio interviews with eva hart. she was also friends with phil brady on radio station 3aw in melbourne australia and they talked on air a lot. i believe she said a few times her mother slept in a deck chair. she felt very strongly about her premonition and it might haver saved the two of them.
New content! Love ya for it!
Well as a father of a 3 year old girl this one really hit hard on me, esp Loraine Allisons fate. What horror....
Hey Sam is there going to be a new topic on tonight's podcast or even on tonight?
Tragic. Heartbreaking
I love Eva Hart’s interviews.
My son loved this video!
Hey was it your son who I gave the shoutout to awhile back?
@@HistoricTravels yes!
Thank you!
i would love to see a video about the Wilhelm Gustloff
already made it!!!!!
I just pictured the mom who stayed awake at night feeling the ship shake from the impact and just shouting I KNEW IT at the top of her lungs 😂
love your vids bro!! keep it up 👍🏻
SAM GOOD FILMS ON TITANIC KEEP UP GREAT WORK
Oh boy more Titanic facts. Let’s go.
Hi can you do a video on “the people who (almost) board the titanic”?
Good one
I wake up binge watching you
5:51 omg Lightoller 🤦🏻♀️
Great video
I heard there was two gunshots at the location of collapsible a at the time it shot up. I think one of the officers shot the fall release. What are your thoughts on this historic travels.
