Thank you. Really enjoyed the video. Love you blend of humour and information. Can’t wait for the rest. 👍🏻
Thanks DS. Humour and information, I guess that sums me up pretty well actually. Too much of either one can be a bore, so I am conscious not to over-do it. Thanks for the compliment. PS - Unfortunately my friends and family don’t get the edited version in real life and are often bored to tears! 😂
20 miles on day 1 you must of been loving it😁Thank you Justin for uploading quickly its always good to watch one of your hikes ..well presented and filmed...cracking work 👍🏻😁👍🏻
Thank you for the compliments sir! 🙏 I appreciate that. I do enjoy planning the vids in advance, the different shots, what to say to camera, how to make it flow, add some humour and spontaneous things that we all like to see. Mind you, I don’t like the editing as much, it takes forever….
15:34. Can such places really be? it is just all so mind blowingly beautiful!
They surely can. Scotland is amazing 👌 Loads more videos like that, and better, on my channel. Subscribe sir! 🤠
Thanks for sharing Justin. Aberfoyle is such a pleasant little town and you got a great view over Loch Venachar and Ben Ledi. So many trails have been blocked with treefall recently and it was good to see them put up a diversion. Oh, and it does rain in Scotland !
Thanks for dropping by. Yes, it was a crackin' first day is so many ways. Wonderful things to see all day. Rain? Never! 😆
It´s good to be on the way with you again...
Well done video as always 🙂
Looking forward for the next parts.
Funny thing: It was my first time to see backpipers "live" while being in Drymen. They played for a wedding ceremony. Good memories...
Liebe Grüße Beda
Thank you. It was inspiring to do a long hike again. It’s a unique feeling, not like a day hike. Knowing you will be in a different place each night on a bigger adventure. Always going forward rather than going back. I love that feeling…. Yes, a pipe band is quite an experience live! You can feel the vibrations in your chest and the sound is remarkable. No wonder they used it in the past before battle. Some people hate the sound though, so I turned the volume down and only included a few seconds in the video! 😂
Brings back memories of bikepacking the RRW last year. Well made film. Look forward to watching the rest of your trip.
Thanks Glenda! The RRW was better than I expected and I really enjoyed it. Love hiking in Scotland ❤
It is a rather good trail. It’s sad it’s not used as much as the WHW. It was a splendid route to bikepack too.
The WHW is like a motorway of hikers. I like the quieter trails too though.
I’m with you. I quite like getting some peace and quiet.
Great to see you out again Justin. Enjoyed episode 1. Gordon
Cheers Gordon. It was good to be in Scotland on a long trail again. 👍 Check out the RRW Teaser vid too, if you missed it.
Great first day! Loved to see Callander. We stopped there when we were doing a daytrip to the Highlands when we were in Edinburgh for a city trip. Fun fact, Pitlochry was our stop on the way back ☺️
Thank you 🙏 It sounds like you did most of the RRW on your day trip!
@@JustinWhiting9 🤔 oh yeah..did not see it that way but you're right ☺️
🤠
Lovely trip👍
It was Dave 👍. Bring back any memories? I did look over to the hill with the Samson’s Stone and thought of your camp up there. I was pretty tired by then and looking forward to a shower and a bed though!
@@JustinWhiting9 it bought back a lot of memories Justin, all good and I look forward to seeing the rest of your trip. 🙏
Nice one Dave. Me too. I wish the videos would just do themselves, editing takes ages…
@@JustinWhiting9 I do really enjoy the editing Justin but my last section on the Cambrian way is taking ages as I haven’t had time even though I’m retired 🤣I think those rainy days spent indoors are best for editing.
Spot on. I spent all day editing yesterday and the weather was beautiful here in Wolverhampton. I should have been out doing something else…
"Does it ever rain in Scotland?" exactly my thoughts when I walked this years the West Highland Way, most probably at the same time you walked the Rob Roy Way. :D Thank you for inspiration. I am planning to walk the Rob Roy way next year in May.
Thanks! 👍 Actually, I have been lucky. Across 25 days hiking in total in Scotland, it rained lightly for 1.5 days only. “Does it ever rain in Scotland?” Is becoming my catchphrase! 😂
@@JustinWhiting9 In such a case, there is common a phrase in Germany: "When Angles travel!" :D
Do you mean angels (Engeln)?
@@JustinWhiting9 yes, angels.. sorry, typo...
Kein Problem, Ich bin aber bestimmt kein Engel!
Hello, finished my Rob Roy Way last week. Thank you again for inspiration!
Well done 👍 The weather was very good last week. Did you see the place where your grandfather was?
@@JustinWhiting9 Hello, yes, I spent 2 Days in Comrie to see the camp and visit the nearby Distillery. It was totally worth to take 2 Days break. I walked between 28. of April and 6. of May, I had some changing Scottish Weather. Afterwards I spent a few days in Pitlochry and the Weekend in Edinburgh. Just arrived yesterday.
Very good idea to take your time and explore 👍
Nice going, Justin, definitely one to do. Just subscribed!
Cheers Rich, It’s a good trail and I had a blast 👍
Would you recommend this trail?
Yes, the RRW is quite easy with beautiful landscapes and views. It also has a rich history 👍
@@JustinWhiting9 thank you . and wild camping spots along the trail ?not too bad?
Yes, wild camping is possible if you know what to look for. Leave no trace. 👍
Great Video. I’ve just finished the Rob Roy Way a week ago and I think I saw you on the trail! Did you leave your water bottle on a fence post and have to turn back for it? (Somewhere between the Falls of Acharn and Aberfeldy).
Thank you and ha ha! 😂 Yes, it’s me, Justin. Firstly, well done on completing the RRW. Secondly, you must have thought I was a right numpty! DOH! 🤦♂️
It was quite funny because when I saw you turning back it made me think we had both gone the wrong way lol, its only when you pointed to the fence that I twigged it. The heat was brutal that day, I'm glad you remembered to retrieve it. I thought I recognised you at the time but I couldn't remember where from, then I saw your video today and remembered I've watched your EHW series a few times. You passed us earlier that same day and I commented to my Mum that you looked like an experienced hiker, turns out I was correct.
Congratulations on completing the RRW and congratulations on filming the whole thing, especially in that heat. Im really looking forward to watching the rest of your videos as they come out. What did you think of the RRW compared to the other trails you have done?
Thank you 🙏 Well, nobody has yet recognised me on trail and said hello so that would have been a first 😁 That section was tougher than I expected because it kept going up and down the hillside. The Burks of Aberfeldy were beautiful at the end though 👌 Take a look also at my short teaser video of the whole RRW trail on my channel. I would say it is one of the easier trails, mostly flat with no big hills to climb. I enjoyed it though, terrific scenery in the Trossachs. 🤠
Another great video, cant wait for the next episode 😂
Thanks Jase, good things come to those who wait…
