I had an operation that went pretty bad. I then had corrective surgery that made it worse. I'm 55 and I cycled and walked my whole life out in the wilds. Watching your adventures and the lovely way you present them is a real joy. As unfortunately I am now disabled because of the bad operations. Watching your journeys is a way of keeping my mental health healthy. Thank you and All the best in all your endeavours.
Hi hun❤️😁Rob roy is one of my iconic old heroes. Loved every day of your walk, and fantastic audio 💞you can do hun, I've got faith in you, stay safe n enjoy scotland💜❤️💜❤️💜
“Doom & gloom (D&G).” Mainly from people trying to make sense of the world, and not succeeding very well. Some argue that D&G is simply realism; and that to refuse D&G makes one a ‘pretender.’ Abbie fights through that to keep a wee smile most of the time. Really lovely. Many here noticed that. Best of all is to accept Genesis 1:1’s interpretation of things. It’s deeply quieting, and enlivens nature even more!
Normally when youtubers don't bother to check how to say Scottish place names it makes my teeth itch, but honestly you do it with such good humour it makes me smile!
Beautiful video as usual Abbie , my wife and i spent our honeymoon at Callender in 1964 and walked around the Town and visited many places in the Trossachs , also visited the unveiling if the statue of Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn June 24th by the Queen.
Just finished The Rob Roy Way today in five days, a fantastic walk which I would recommend, and your video of the walk was an inspiration, many thanks.
What a lovely wee film...I thoroughly enjoyed the footage as well as the narration. Your use of colourful adjectives made what could easily have been a boring segment really interesting. Thanks so much. Subbed
I had put off watching this video due to its length. How wrong I was. First-class entertainment! Listening to your impressions on nature is like reading poetry. Great camera work, too.
So glad I stumbled across this video; what a lovely person and what an incredible take on life for one so young - truly uplifting and sage in parts. I live on the edge of the Trossachs and enjoy getting out into it as often as I can but it's always good to find the viewpoint from elsewhere to truly appreciate what we have, right on our doorstep. Thank you Abbie for sharing this with us.
yes, what a truly inspiring, altruistic person. Encouraging young and old to venture into the great outdoors. Once you get over that, have a look at the greed on display in her shop. 😉🤑
My grandson has been begging his mom for a Highland cow poster and she put her foot down saying it was a waste of money and she did not want any cows in her very shabby chic home. He turns 13 in two weeks. I have kept his birthday theme a real secret, but you guessed it, it will be Highland cows! I ordered a framed poster of not only a cow, but of one with his tongue up his nose, his party hats are Highland Cow headbands, made with felt, chunky yarn and lots of giggling. It is tradition to decorate cupcakes and we all have Wilton Tip 233 and lots of brown and tan frosting. Highland cow trivia, Scottish food and even a game of "guess what is in the haggis" where you put your hand in the stocking and figure if the object you are touching is a toy solider or a barbie doll head. Having immersed myself in all things Highland Cow, I too am fully in love with them.
Hi Abbie, loving your videos, I’m late to your channel and I’m working way through them. I’m 71 years and love the outdoor life. Last year I cycled 4000 kms across Europe and England. After watching your Hebridean Way walk I ordered the guidebook you mentioned. I’ve got a friend coming with me to do the walk in 2024. Keep up the great work.
Abbie, thank you so very much for taking us on your adventures with you. Your professional presentation style, combined with your charismatic joy, makes each and every one of these a joy to watch from start to finish. As a fellow hiker, you capture some of the thoughts, revelations, and experiences that we all enjoy and have also figured out some way to decrease the concept of "the camera doesn't do it justice" with your filming. Again, thank you for being you!
Abbie you make me feel so good. I am with you all the way on this one, your chatter and happiness is so exhilarating to me the viewer. 22 years ago my son and I walked the railway track and stood on that viaduct before safety bars were installed, just a low wall one side and a shear drop the other. In the early days when steam engines huffed and puffed up that line hauling freight trains and passenger trains there used to be rock falls which blocked the line. So early in the morning they used to send a steam engine up on it's own to make sure the line was clear. 13 years ago when I was 70 years I peddled my cycle up Glen Ogle and cycled back along the railway track. This trip of yours brought it all back to me. thank you
I'm a hunter I never done much hiking unless hiking about 4 miles to get my game is hiking.... I usually drive my pick up truck to the site I'm going to camp at and I sit up camp then from there I walk up to my stand in the tree which is about a mile from the camp and wait until the game comes to me.... I really love your hikes, the history of the UK, and the landscapes are beautiful....
Thank you for letting me join you on this incredible hike. You have expressed the feelings that I get while in the wood. We all need a forest bath from time to time, it's good for the soul. George, Sarasota, FLA, USA
I watched this today struggling with my Mental health problems but took so much inspiration from Abby persevering despite her knee problems, so upbeat every morning, wish I was as strong as her x
Many mentioned mental struggles here! Abby’s honesty probably helped here to open that door. W/o the Lord God of the Bible, I believe loneliness (and even despair) is totally rational. Still, the biblical way improves ‘’this’ in every way! If we read the gospels and just keep asking the right questions (like, WHO IS THIS JESUS?!?!) we can learn so much! Without his remediation, we are strange creatures indeed!
Just found your channel. I’m really impressed. I love the way you take us on your journey with you and your narration with all those little nuggets of history and regional facts. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to explore more.
Abbie is a smart wee woman! Really, SO MUCH INFO along the way! I’ve studied Scotland a lot, even living there from 2006-2010 - and I learned a muckle by keepin ma ears open! 😉
Thank you for you lovely video on The Rob Roy Way. I'll be doing this walk in September with my wife and some friends and you have given me some valuable insights into what to look out for. Your enthusiasm for nature and the great outdoors is truly infectious!
Love RUclips it came up with your channel 😊 Watched WHW & now this one. I'm with you Abbie spent 40 years walking, scrambling , climbing & mountain biking. The theme is it's the joy of the outdoors is the hook. Your channel is outdoors indoors 😊 & your smile & outlook on life is magnetic. Power to you 😉
Thank you so much Abbie! We felt we walked with you along the way. You are so engaging and such a good companion to walk with! Love seeing all the interesting places you spot along the way. We look forward to seeing your videos now we have found your channel!!
I walk my dog along various parts of this way - Glen Ogle is always enjoyable thank you for your enthusiasm and your stoicism when faced with our weather 😎
Abbie, living vicariously these treks with you. The heart, heritage, and soul are Celt. You are so wonderful and an amazing soul. A wonderful traveler and mentor and advocate for the natural resources around us. Thank you so much, from another mental health warrior. 🌺🍀🥰❤️💐
Thank you so much Abbey for sharing your journey of the mind, heart, and spirit while walking through nature, our gift we created in oneness to bring the simplicity and example of what we are meant to do as we travers through our life. Enjoy the beauty of highs, lows, to breathe in all the colors of our "Rainbows' and to continue moving no matter the pain that sometimes raised its head to show us how truly fragile we are and to accept this. Respect to one's self comes to mind. Our World reflects are Journey. Thank you for sharing yours and the beauty of it all. I will start my journey soon. Being 73 years soon this is the gift I'm giving myself. I've already been buying and reading, asking for insights concerning each individuals experience. I hope that our paths cross one day and we too can share the wonder of our jouneys to each other in awe that we went to the end, no matter the difficulty. That pot of Gold is the Joy of knowing we took on the challenge and accomplished our goals with grace and dignity. Waiting for more stories of your adventures.😉 And again thank you.🤗
TY Abbie for bringing me along. I really enjoyed ur video. What a nice young woman you are. I remember being at the salmon run with our Mum & Dad. Our Mum got cancer but our Dad continued to take us all over Scotland in a camper van he built. Im 52 now & live in Rhode Island in the United States. We've been ( im a twin) to over half of the States here, & Im in my mini schoolbus traveling right now. Parked for the night & watched ur vidio. Home isnt far away!
Stumbled upon this little RUclips gem this evening, I'm lucky enough to live just 40mins from the start of this walk. I feel inspired to get out and explore this spring and summer as we obviously can't travel abroad this year, and I unfortunately lost my job at Glasgow airport last month due to covid and I think this could help me with my mental well-being!!
You are an amazing human being; filled with beautiful cinematography, enriching educational commentary, and a beautiful attitude on the connection between life, Nature, and the human being journeying through. Thank you for enlightening me on the fact that I must visit my Scottish homeland! Namaste~
I just had to get away from the doom and gloom of the present-day news cycles. Finding your video was the perfect remedy! I enjoyed it so much! The beauty of Scotland is breathtaking and literally gives me goosebumps! I visited a few years ago and can't wait to go back someday. So glad you were able to complete your trek along Rob Roy Way (such a cool name!), even with your sore knee. Thanks for taking us along and for encouraging everyone to get out into nature.
Abbie, your comments on maintaining connections seem so significant for us now in these days. Thank you for providing one of the ways our friends who are shielding are able to nurture some connections.
This is brilliant Abbie. We've walked the Rob Roy Way, in small sections rather than a whole, it's a gorgeous walk. And I've stayed on pitch 217 at the Aberfeldy camp site! When we spent a weekend canoeing from Kenmore to Ballanluig. Keep up the good work.
Stumbled on the Rob Roy Way by accident. As a committed Rambler, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Many thanks for your company, Abbie. Having once stayed beside the Caha Mountains near Adrigole, I'm looking forward to your Ring of Beara next. Peter B
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I particularly liked your easy and knowledgeable narration without any music drowning out the sounds of nature. I wish more would adopt your style. Hope you knee is better.
Abbie - you're narration is wonderfully soothing yet powerfully honest. The way you intersperse snippets of history and wildlife makes this so wholesome. Not sure about you but I'm getting itchy feet for Scotland and the wild proper!
I came across this video by accident and I absolutely loved it. Your out look and attitude about this beautiful planet of ours is wonderfully inspiring. Thank you for this beautiful video. It truly lifted my soul and I will definitely watch more of your videos.
Dear Abbie I found your channel today and made the space to sit and watch your Rob Roy Way walk. Loved your commentary, so raw and heartfelt and knowledgeable. Have subscribed and will be watching more of your videos. You've truly made my day with appreciation from New Zealand x💖
I've just stumbled across your videos whilst searching for Scotland videos. Scotland us my favourite place in the whole world and your videos make me want to just go out and explore. I'm quite fearful of getting lost which does hold me back to be honest . I adore the scenery in your videos but I also love the historical bits too. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Pretty difficult to get lost in Scotland, it's a very small country! Unless it was mid winter and you'd been dropped off somewhere truly remote by helicopter, you'd be fine :)
@@jonnylumberjack6223 What are you talking about? It's entirely possible to get lost in Scotland, especially in the Highlands. Hence why we take precautions, like telling others where our routes are going, using maps/compasses, GPS when possible, or satellite phones, etc. Scotland isn't very large as compared to countries like Turkey, Sweden, or France, etc. but it's larger than several other European countries, and much less populated than many
This was amasing, i am sitting in my lounge and admiring the views, really stunning wil certainly watch this again, and i enjoyed the fact there wasnt any music that is a distraction for me, thank you very much for sharing this with me lv Jacqueline
Just discovered your channel through Country Walking magazine. Fantastic filming, insights and inspiration on nature, the wild and life's journey. You should have your own TV series.
I can't thank you enough for taking me with you on your trek! You're a wonderful tour guide, and I'm sure my dread of the finish line matched yours! I do hope your knee is healed, because I'm off, now, too find another trip with you, and am very grateful for your knees to carry me!
Abbie-this was outstanding;ty for sharing the beauty of Scotland and your inspiration; the Lord has made such beauty in every viewpoint. The Elams, Texas
I often search out Scottish, Irish and Welsh history so I'm not surprised that this popped up on RUclips..... So glad it did, Abbie. You're an inspiration to all of us. I walk and or bike each day, with camera in hand, and inevitably, I return home feeling soooo good, mentally and physically. It's like a happy pill for me.. Thank you for sharing your RRW journey.. Much admiration...
The worst thing about this video........Is the fact it ended and now we have to eagerly await the next feature length video. The way you document your journeys is absolutely unreal and it feels as though we take them with you, please keep up the fantastic content
Thank you for sharing your amazing adventures with us Abi , and what a lovely person you are . Your an aspiration to us all and you should be very proud of your self . Take care .
You are an inspiring and wonderful person. Just found your channel. I suffer from chronic depression and your walking tour has made me feel more positive about life. Thank you Abbie.
What a wonderful story. I loved every minute of it. And, if I can add, how eloquently you speak - I enjoyed listening to your commentary, and your views on nature and life.
What a lovely walk. Thanks for taking me along. Just found your channel - very impressed by your determination and drive. hope your knee has healed. Can't wait for our next walk.
Abbie, thanks for another great film. I feel I’ve walked the Highland Way, Great Glen Way and Rob Roy Way the past 2 days. I’m going through a personal tough time and your inspiration to ‘chose joy’ has lifted me and I feel, although a way to go, that I have a choice, that I don’t have to accept the status quo and that I can do it. Thanks so much! Brian, Loughborough
I absolutely loved this video. I have visited Scotland once before. I even stayed overnight in Drymen, where the trail begins. I am very inspired to try some day walking along this path in the future. Thank you so much! And I will watch more of Abbie’s videos, in Scotland and beyond.
I do enjoy your videos. You pinpoint the healing elements of the landscapes through which you pass. The outdoor environment has helped me avoid the depths, as an early intervention as opposed to a cure. I have always subconsciously known so. Guess I've been lucky. Bless you and your calling.
Abbie your amazing person. Love your walks. I've not walked for a least 3 years. Just waiting for this virus to clam down. Then I'm going back to the peak district as soon as I can. I also suffer with mental health. I love nature and I hope this helps me. Keep up the good work and stay safe x
Abbie thankyou so much for such an enjoyable video. Algorithms are sometimes helpful to point you in a direction you may not have considered and that is how I found your YT channel 10mo ago. Your struggles with mental health challenges and your willingness to push forward one step at a time (literally) to self improvement has been a huge inspiration for me. I am 62 yo and diagnosed with PTSD and clinical depression due to an extreme life changing event that happed 20mo. ago and left me shattered. Life for me has changed yes but with the help of family friends (and I include you here as well as a couple of other YTers) and a good therapist I will continue to move forwarsld into a better future. Someday soon I hope to walk some of the same trails you have (particularly the Scotish ones). Thankyou again and to you and yours please be safe and take care. 👍😎🤘
I love your attitude! You walked thru some beautiful country. Thank you for your narration and all that you showed us. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. I hope your knee is doing much better. From USA, Michigan
I think that you are so inspirational. Having trouble with mental illness and doing these walks anyway. You are one of the inspirations for me to hike LeJog next year! Good luck on your hikes!
Loved your hike on the Rob Roy Trail. But most of all really enjoyed your insights into personal connections to Nature .. Doesnt really matter where we are to find it but the wilderness affords us greater possibilities of success whether on a trail, river or ocean. I did a lot of hiking in my day and one quote I arrived at and think you might like is. "There are as many horizons as there are places to stand" ...... and then in thought.. and yet there is but one Earth on which to stand. From Earths central core perspective.. looking up to its surface from below.. there is only one horizon... a sphere or circle...All people's, races.. religions.. philosophies, and varied creatures of the World found together and connected through each center to Mother Earths as one..
Great video Abbie, I live about a half hour drive from callander so consider the RRW a local trail. Great to see you enjoy so many familiar sights for me, although I must admit I had a bit of a giggle at some of your pronunciations, sorry. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more adventures soon. Stay safe.
Just watched the first of what I hope will be many more videos from Abbie. What a personable, knowledgeable presenter and great videography of the surrounding paths. Well done!! Thank-you. I am adding the Rob Roy Way to my TO-DO List.
So glad to have come across your vlog.It was nice and relaxing to watch and listen too. It has brought back many memories of the few holidays we had around Aberfoyle where my Ancestors came from. Their graves was in the video. I have even found out I have an DNA connection to Rob Roy. I am hoping to come up that way again soon but sadly it will not be the same as in the past because me wife passed away a few months ago. It reminded me of the places we visited together. Thank you Abbie.
Abbie, this was well worth waiting for! Thoroughly enjoyed watching yesterday evening. Hope you're continuing to plan more trails and hope you can soon embark upon them!
Lovely video Abbie. You put a piece of your heart and soul into each and every video.Your amazing freedom loving spirit can be felt through it.Scotland looks so much like Wales but probably on a bigger scale. Missing Wales especially Snowdonia! This video reminded me of it-of it’s green and luscious landscape and awe-inspiring mountains 🏔 🏴 Cymru we will soon be reunited
That little dog, running off with someones hotdog, that is so hilarious! 😂

Forgotten how much I miss Scotland...I live on Dartmoor which is fantastic...but it’s not Scotland. Love your positivity...keep them coming.
Another great chill out video from RUclips legend AB. Great closing music.
This is a great journey. Brilliantly presented. I am addicted to it. Very relaxing. Thanks.
Thank you Abbie for a great walk.

I very much enjoyed joining in on your journey. What an awesome experience to share thankyou for posting.
Abbie - you're narration is wonderfully soothing yet powerfully honest. The way you intersperse snippets of history and wildlife makes this so wholesome.
Not sure about you but I'm getting itchy feet for Scotland and the wild proper!
You are lovely! What a great walk! Been to so many places you passed through. Magical! Many thanks for taking me with you Abbie x
I came across this video by accident and I absolutely loved it. Your out look and attitude about this beautiful planet of ours is wonderfully inspiring. Thank you for this beautiful video. It truly lifted my soul and I will definitely watch more of your videos.
Excellent video! What beautiful images from nature and what beautiful mountain hikes!
Scotland isn't very large as compared to countries like Turkey, Sweden, or France, etc. but it's larger than several other European countries, and much less populated than many
A wonderful journey. Thank you for sharing. Loved every minute
Absolutely agree. She should team up with Alice Roberts Biologist etc TV presenter as Abbie's presentation skills reminded me of her.
What an awesome surprise to find your channel! Really Really enjoyed the video. Thank you so much x
Take care .
This was a refreshing find. Keep up the walking I'm too crippled to do much at my age so I feel like I'm with you on this. Thank you.
I hope you can still get out some time.❤
You are an inspiring and wonderful person. Just found your channel. I suffer from chronic depression and your walking tour has made me feel more positive about life. Thank you Abbie.
Another great enjoyable video! I loved seeing the beautiful scenery of Scotland! Thank You for posting your great videos!
What a wonderful story. I loved every minute of it. And, if I can add, how eloquently you speak - I enjoyed listening to your commentary, and your views on nature and life.
You (Abbie) have a wonderful natural cadence to your tongue!
Many thanks Abbie your videos are a pleasure and inspiration.
Awesome video and hike - thank you for sharing! 👍👍
You must be a super fast walker then
I absolutely loved this video.
Wonderful just wonderful. Thank you Abbie
👍😎🤘
Love the way you narrated and filmed this nice trail. Thank you.
These should broadcast on tv your great Abbie 👍 I visit killin a couple times each year it’s a great place!
This was wonderful - just stumbled on your channel. You have certainly made me feel that I was hiking with you.
Heading to fort William in a few weeks.
Feel so fortunate to have found your beautiful & inspiring travels here. 🙏
Brought back memories for me, especially Balqhuidder Kirk. The grave of an ancestor of mine is just a couple of steps away from Rbo Roy's grave.
Graveyards and headstones touch me to my core. Each one represents such a magnificent story! Few are fully told!!!
