@Cornelius Quiring Not only relaxing to watch but also relaxing to do. I used to make pottery myself, but as I watch those professionals, I am always astonished, what they are capable to do. It looks easier than it is and my problem was always, to come up with good ideas of what to achieve and how to do it. Congrats to the potter.
There is actually quite a lot of music in it but yeah, it doesn't need all of that. Maybe a subtle tone here and there would be enough. And the soothing of the silent parts is really the strength here.
That was lovely - so relaxing to watch. And I learned more in 20 minutes than in my entire year of first year ceramics. Not kidding - those teachers didn't explain why various things were done, so what the students did was very much hit and miss. It is a real joy to be able to work in a creative job.
Catharine is simply amazing. She had an amazing presence on screen. I wish she had her own dedicated channel. You guys did an amazing job filming and editing. More of Catharine I say! MORE!!!
My God you make that looks so easy. But i have done it and it is far from it! U do incredible work and it is so encouraging to see someone living their passion. I pray for your continued success and one day i will buy one of your labor’s of love.
If i my add some advise i am a carpenter and flooring contractor an a tip that might leave a better finish try using your holesaw in reverse thats what we do when cutting through vinyl siding as the teeth cut less aggressive and leaves a smooth finish worth a try i think
I taught pottery in secondary school over 30 years... this lovely young woman has it down to a science. She loves what she does and it shows with her finished pieces. I would love to see her do a drilled piece in an in-ground “Raku” firing 😘 during the summer of course 🤗❣️
No, she doesn’t. She centers weird, she finishes her wedging on the wheel and she doesn’t have the common sense to use wax in the bottom of her bisque pieces prior to dipping them in glaze!
Catherine, thank you for sharing your techniques and architectural prowess! Stereokroma, thank you for a very high quality of documenting; sharing it is just very neighborly of you, thank you so much!
Thank you! That was direct, informative and beautiful in its calmness. Proof that we don't need irritating music over under and between all action when we watch something interesting.
I’m taking a ceramic class and I really just learned everything on my own from online videos. Looking at this gives me ideas of how to design my own stuff.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the subtitles editor? She/he made subtitles for every sound from "bucket opening" to "water splishing and splashing". Though I understand this clear English accent, I had the subtitles just for the sake of seeing what all was mentioned. The video is very calming and educational as well. No doubt in that. Amazing work by all the people involved in the making of this video and the artist.
I couldn't come up with a comment that would correctly express my opinion till I read the description and found the word "brave"! With regard to skilled potters. Among the other comments was the word " presence " About Catherine, I agree with all the other nice and better comments! Thanks for the video.
Beautiful. I really miss doing ceramics and throwing - the town I live in now has no options for this, but I really do wish it did. Beautiful work. Thanks for posting.
@@StudioLaroche I wish! It's just not a common thing in Lancashire, sadly. Are you the artist? Absolutely beautiful work and really inspiring to watch. Makes me miss throwing even more watching someone talented work. If this was you, thank you so much for sharing your art with us.
Thank you. I've never seen it done from start to finish before. You explain each step clearly, except I missed when you must have cleaned up the holes after drilling them. Wonderful.
The bowl is beautiful, I've not seen anyone cone up so high, but it's part of your throwing, so who am I to say anything but praise for your throwing, trimming and the finished bowl is stunning
Her stuff is really cool looking & her prices are VERY reasonable. I was honestly surprised. I live in the lower income bracket & I'm thinking of buying a fruit bowl.
RUclips: Here’s a new channel that has nothing to do with your search/watch history. Me: 4 hours later at 2:37am... I’ve never thought about clay fruit baskets, eh let’s watch anyways.
I was going to say that same exact thing! It's so relaxing too. Never seen pottery being made before but this has been my 3rd or 4th video I've watched now and I have absolutely no idea how I got here, oh and its 1:30am (I need to get up for work at 5:30am) but I can't seem to stop watching...
I have been wanting to creat bowls and plates of clay for sometime now and you have given me the inspiration, I love your work, you make it look easy, I’m sure it isn’t. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. Myra☺️
and that was the most beautiful demonstration of throwing I have ever seen! I love the color of the clay, gorgeous grey to awesome chocolate and that wonderful fruit bowl, wow, gonna watch it again.
Thank you Catherine i really enjoyed your video. I am not a potter but I am interested in trying and this was very informative and inspiring. Thank you again.
Peace, generous lady ... your work is more than wonderful. It is truly a masterpiece ... very accurate and beautiful. May God prolong your life and keep your hands up.
I made a bowl like that in early 1980s. A family member had ceramics shop but I like to do my own pottery. I didn't have a drill to use but I traced and cut the shapes myself. Smoothed it all out and fired, glazed and fired again. Got lots of praise lol
Beautiful bowl! I checked out the website and was surprised at how affordable these pieces are. With that much labor, I would expect them to cost much more. Watching this video was not just instructive, but so... relaxing.
Well isn't this just soothing and relaxing to watch.

I was a hand built potter and I absolutely loved the results of raku firing.

Thank you! I wouldn't want to be spending my days doing anything else 😊
Excellent photography and clear instructions and voice is clear. Thank you for not crapping it up with music or extra sound effects!
I like this artists style.
It’s simple and elegant, it’s neutral and bold.
I will own some of her stuff in the future.

amazing how much it shrinks from firing! beautiful work!
Thank you for sharing this!
Love the scene at the end illustrating the progression from turned/thrown to the finished piece out of the kiln. Well done.

Absolutely Beautiful. And so is the pottery.
