Watching you start carving in 7:56 was like watching Bob Ross paint a giant tree at the front of his picture, thinking the piece is ruined, but you actually made it even prettier than it was before!
Oh! Waiting until that leathery point makes so much more sense! Now I get what went wrong with a lot of my past pottery projects. I never thought to actually take advantage of that fairly hard stage, I just did it all while fully wet and then the really fine details or getting rid of all tooling marks hasn't really worked well for me in the past while wet, so I'll try to do refining work while hard from now on!
I could happily watch you work for hours. You move gracefully and it’s so surprising to me that you know exactly what to do to make it turn out the way you want. How lovely!
When you've made something so lovely, I don't know how you have the courage to go back and carve it! One slip of the knife, and it would be ruined! You have such amazing skill and very steady hands! Beautiful!
I'm in western NC, and live in the midst of many potters. I've had lessons with some great potters, and it's hard to throw on a wheel. You'd never know it by watching you work! I love your technique, teaching and finished pieces. Everything is beautiful and unique!
I love your exquisite pots, and how you clearly demonstrate each step! Thank you so very much! I watch countless videos, but you’re one of the only ones who has inspired me to take my pottery to the next level!!! Thank you!!!
This is super cool! Also, have you ever considered carving plant motifs into your pieces to go with the curvy handles? I think that'd look really pretty.
I really think your throwing wheel, with the removable center, is so super cool. I don't throw or actually do anything artistic but I find that system you have to be so ingenious and fuss free that if I were ever to get into this craft that would be the only way to go. Great end results too, you are really good at this so I hope the best for you!
This was amazing! I could watch your videos all day long. It does remind me a little of watching Bob Ross videos.....very relaxing and amazed at the final results.
oh goody looking forward to more videos! I'd like to see the rest of the process for finishing and glazing the jars. This video has a good tempo. I really appreciate the focus.
Wow! Incredibly clear demonstration & directions! Of course, it will take me quite awhile to reach even a small fraction of your skill, but I feel I understand the process much better than I did before! Thanks,...you're a great teacher!!
Very beautiful indeed! And yes: I have a bunch of questions. Especially about life and the sense of it all, but I guess, for now, I I keep on watching you making beautiful things.
Yay! I was taught to flip galleries, and honestly it made me give up on teapots. I love your way, it seems a lot easier and a lot more logical. thank you.
Beautiful work and lovely video - I would have liked to see even a small element of faceting in the handle for cohesion, but that is absolutely a personal stylistic choice! Thanks for sharing
Sometimes it's just fun watching someone else make something cool. Who knows, you might try making one someday trying it. There are pottery classes and shops all over the place. Theres one just a few blacks from my house. I went over and bought a few morals mushroom back yards. Because I love to hunt them and like to see them. There about 10 years old and the weather hasn't destroyed them at all. Not like my plastic basement window covers. I'm lucky if it will last 2 to 3 years. The sun breaks down plastic that pretty dam easily. I don't know why put plastic bottles in the garbage dumps. Without our sun getting the chance need to brake down the plastics. It doesn't take so long to break plastic. The problem are were to put it all to let the sun do the job, and keep it away from water.
I watched this video mainly because of the really cool handle. I used to be rubbish at pulling handles, and then all of a sudden I got good. Now I just need to make them a bit fancy, like yours.
Where did you get that carving knife from? I kinda want to get one. Also, I'm minoring in ceramics and how you trimmed the foot BLEW MY MIND. I want to try it so bad now. Also your style is so beautiful and whimsical. I love it all!
Love the jars! Beautiful! ❤️ You make it look so easy, but I know it’s not. I would love to do this, but at 62 not sure if I have the upper body strength.

I try to find a good balance between the leatherhard and wet stage. Sometimes too dry can cause cracks as it dries.
Wow you are truly a master. I have never seen a person mix hand built and thrown together like this. Amazing
Far from a master, but thank you! :)
