honestly this is so in character its insane, you actually managed to pull off their dialogue wonderfully (yes i know it's ai, but it takes a certain level of skill to make the dialogue they're speaking actually believable. so managing to make their conversation, from their bantering to the witty snark actually sound like something they would say is a feat in of itself)
Honestly, if Courier 6 actually died. I could see House be willing to spare Benny if Benny handed over the Chip. He'd be penniless, defenseless, and forced into the Mojave. Yet, he'd be alive. Granted, likely not for long, but that'd be on Benny's hands at that point
I feel like there should've been a Benny route. "Hey, I know I turned your skull into a convertable top, but you were just as much a pawn in House's game as I was. Your beef is with him, not me. So how about we call a truce and I cut you in on the deal. Help me bump off House and control New Vegas and you can name your price. Or vice if you want, babe." It'd be very similar to the Yes Man route but with a lot banter between Benny and Yes Man. Maybe you'd get him as a companion too. And at the end you can decide to just get rid of him anyway and have him chucked off Hoover Dam as well.
A few years ago I had a dream there was a Benny route DLC (which was released in 2019 - this WAS a dream). It replaced, or perhaps expanded on, the Indie route. It started with you choosing to spare Benny, and then you'd start the House route as normal, then Benny would contact you and offer you to betray House. You'd meet his "team" (namely, Yes Man and the Chairmen)... then about half way through, House would catch on and kill Benny, then try to kill you, so you'd have to kill House, alongside the Chairman, which you now run. Then the Neutral Route would continue mostly as normal. Especially since you now knew Yes Man, this made a bit more sense. Also, with House dead, the Securitrons would be replaced with armed Chairmen - your personal enforcers. Presumably since you'd have to kill the existing Securitrons when House tried to kill you, and you lacked the means to 'wake up' the army under the Fort.
i want this but only because i want to see black widow courier x benny become a potentially canon relationship, it would be the most hilariously screwed up enemies to lovers ship ever
