And House was right, there was no way they'd have just left New Vegas alone, when its using Pre-War bots to enforce the law. The Brotherhood doesn't allow any advanced pre-war tech out of their hands, as you can see in Fallout 3(Project Purity and the purifier), and again in Fallout 4(The Institute and the Synths). Logically speaking, House was simply removing a threat before they had an opportunity to strike first. Something literally every other major faction has done or still does in-game. 6:49 that's what made me choose House's side. Unlike all other parties, he has a vision of the future. And not just abstract, but concrete. With a specific time and result.
Unlike the NCR, which simply propose to return to the past, with the same institutions of elections (in fact, without elections). With the same bureaucracy, corruption, etc. It was precisely this structure of society that led to the apocalypse in the world of Fallout. Politicians with exorbitant ambitions, hungry for power over the whole world, unable to find compromises and negotiate. And the NCR proposes to return all this again. So that after some time the world would again plunge into total destruction.
Caesar's Legion is even ridiculous to consider, all they offer is the right of the strong. The same return to an even more distant, barbaric past of humanity with all the consequences. If you want such a world, why choose a Legion, you might as well join the cannibal junkies, or the White Glove, or just any other gang of looters who do the same thing as the Legion, they have about the same rules and laws. Unless the Legion despises drugs or any other kind of high, which does not make them more chaste and correct, since at the same time they crucify people on crosses and make full use of the slave trade and so on.
The Brotherhood of Steel is the same problem as everyone else, there is no normal vision of the future. Just roam the wastelands collecting weapons and technologies of the past at any cost, living in bunkers, without inventing anything new. It sounds as unattractive as possible.
Probably the ending looks more or less like the Courier himself. The Legion was defeated, the House was removed, the casino was removed, but the NCR was not given full power in the region. As a result, life in Nevada will continue to go on in its own measured way. It sounds good, but personally I lack some kind of epic in the spirit of Fallout.
And Mr. House, as for me, is the only one who offers this vision of a future different from everything that humanity has had before. Not an ideal future, but a worthy one, leading humanity further forward, despite the apocalypse that has occurred, Mr. House has a clear vision, understanding, resources, skills, competence to turn his plans into reality.
I don't like all of his views, especially with regard to Stripp, where he plans to rule as an autocrat. But again, this is only temporary, this is only an intermediate stage on the way to truly great goals.
What I also like is that he does not force people to his vision of the future. He does not offer "choose a bright future or die from securitron." He will simply create a future in which people will come themselves, voluntarily.
Think for yourself, technological development, advanced civilization, increased life expectancy, travel to other worlds. How can something like this not attract?
Especially when there is a radioactive wasteland on the opposite side of the scale, cities in ruins, captivity of savages of all stripes, cruelty, endless survival on the verge. This is not life, this is survival and just existence without purpose and meaning.

House is also a representation of the past, just as the other factions are.
He punishes disloyalty, and ultimately won't help the general populace or give them the freedom to truly affect government because that doesn't fit into his view of the future.
Thus I don't support his view of the future, because I see it as ultimately destructive.

Using that takes away my one real issue with him. Otherwise, he's my favourite "faction". He can be a wiseass who doesn't think much of you, but once you prove yourself, he shows you genuine respect. Heck, the ending slides mention how he "affords you every luxury" for the rest of your days (and he also implies that he may use his tech to extend your life too, so there's that).

Back before, when I played Fallout 3, I adored the Brotherhood. And this is true, the devs painted them as the good guys. After that it felt wrong killing the entire chapter in Mojave. But, after some extensive lore reading and playing through Fallout 4, I see why they must be destroyed. The thing is - they are military in their core, and they have little of anything else but that. You don't see them growing crops, you don't see them building cities. All they do is for violence or to combat violence. And it's actually okay to be that specific, but they don't want to cooperate with anyone else or do that very rarely. You don't see them making allies, you see them marching on anyone strong enough to be a threat to them. They are, essentially, a war machine. And without war they have no purpose.

House is usually very level-headed, so him saying "Kill them, end of story" is a bit off putting. For the diplomatic ending, you have to complete the Brotherhood quests, join them, and then convince House that you will use your position with them to your mutual advantage (wiping them out only if/when the need arises). To me, it just makes more sense for him to be capable of seeing the advantage. That said, I see his original point: "The world has no need for unstable techno-fetishists who think that all technology belongs to them." Like, yeah, ostensibly, the Courier turned him into a bear rug from his perspective and he's no longer an issue, but that doesn't guarantee that's what actually happened. There's a reason why people debrief each other on what happened and provide after action reports, since when it comes to delicate matters like with traitors, you need to know they won't be a problem anymore. Maybe prior to that moment, the Courier explictly said they offed him, but it'd still be important to know how. What if they just shot him in the head? Mr house didn’t care about Benny once he stopped being useful to him. And the only way Benny CAN be a problem is if he has the platinum chip and knows where to find the bunker. Assuming you meet Benny at Caesar’s camp, it’s obvious to house that you or the legion have the chip but neither have used it in the bunker.
The platinum chip is the only play benny has against house, otherwise he would have to get the 3 families to side with him or have an army backing him, but the guy is a con artist not a leader. Even if he did somehow raise an army the hard way against house that would take time, more so than using the chip immediately to rival house’s securitron army at the strip.
He sees Benny as an upstart charlatan amongst beggars and gamblers, the same way we would see a coyote amongst dogs. Ahead of the curve, but below any threat to him

Because it doesn't matter; Benny could be alive, super-pissed, and trying to get the Chairmen to march across the street and tear the Lucky 38 down brick by brick--doesn't matter, House would have them all gunned down in minutes. There is literally no way Benny could be a threat now that he doesn't have the chip, in House's mind.

I generally like House, but some things give me serious pause. His main focus is pie in the sky science projects rather than helping the world. The Mojave has only recently gone to shit, but otherwise it's a pretty normal series of small settlements. I don't think giving up on Nevada and California is reasonable. And he only makes some vague allusions to partnering with the Followers, but only out of pragmatism, rather than any humanitarian desire. There's nothing stopping a peaceful Mojave from housing hundreds of thousands of people in a metropolis with the power and water from Hoover Dam. House might make that, but only so much as it would be to build up the tech industry again.

He's an expression of American libertarianism in its individualistic ideal. Objectivism even. The fundamental flaws with that particular ideology are self-evident to anyone with a working brain, but they pale in comparison to fascism's proto-religious zeal and paranoid schizophrenia about the "others" used to manipulate the rubes of a fascist society. The two kinds often ally with each other, but ultimately the ideologies inevitably conflict.
The legion are probably the closest to fascism in FNV (not that the label really fits them either, they reject industry/progress outright after all).
In F4 it's the BoS who play that role, but the writing of that game pales in comparison.
