I am excited to be able to share with you how I collect samples for my PhD and how things work aboard a research vessel. My PhD focuses on studying the relationship between microbes in the ocean and plastic pollution.

Very interesting! It's also good to show that plastic pollution in the ocean isn't only the big bottles etc. we see floating around, but that tiny particles are also there even though we can't see it! Great video :)

I'm thinking about jumping aboard a research vessel soon. Would you recommend it? :) I find it so sad how there is so much plastic wherever we go. Cambodian seas are really saturated everywhere!
I would definitely recommend it! Its a very unique experience. Which ship and for what kind of research would the cruise be? Yes I can imagine that the ocean in south west asia has a lot of plastic :/
