  • Nissan Titan Rear Axle, Bearing and seal Install
    After removing the rear axle we must reinstall it. This video shows how I reinstall everything.
    If you haven't seen the uninstall video it is here - • 2006 NISSAN TITAN ,Rea... .
    The 20 ton Harbor Freight Press worked great pressing the bearing back onto the axle. A video of putting the 20 ton harbor freight press together is here - • Harbor Freight 20 Ton ... . The job was easier than I thought it was going to be. Everything went smooth and came together as you would want it to. If you attempt to work on your own vehicle wear the necessary safety gear and be careful. You can get hurt. This is how I did this job and am not saying it is the best way or only way to do it.
    I hope you enjoy the video and it helps you, if you have to do this yourself.

    The rear axle seal and bearing replacement job went smooth . We shouldn't have to worry about this again for a long time. The harbor freight 20 ton press was worth the money. We have to keep the Nissan Titan in tip top shape so we don't get stranded in the forest. If you haven't seen the other videos for this job, I left video links in the description. Don't forget to subscribe as the adventures are just beginning. Many more to come.

    Loved your video. Hope you don’t take this the wrong way you remind me of bob Ross. I really like how you explained the job in a nice calm voice. Most guys play loud annoying music or don’t say anything. My wife even watched.

    Your out there getting it done. I had to take mine to the shop and when they told me how much. I wanted to respond you can just keep the vehicle lol. Nice job man.

    Just bought my 2006 Nissan Titan used 250K. Same axle leak. Your videos are a great help! It is hard to keep the sand off the parts here in Florida also. At least there is not any rust like where I am from in Wisconsin.

      I sold my titan a while back. Was in Texas it's whole life. Pretty much rust free.

    Great video! Note if the outer race spins in the housing, the entire housing is ruined. It should not slide in by hand and should have no grease between the race and housing. Use a center punch to upset the housing and locktite to ensure the race does not spin.

    Nissan Titan 2005 Rear axle shaft bearing cage nuts and lock washers.
    Anyone had an issue to tighten the old bearing cage to 87 ft-lb ?
    One of my bolts broke at that torque. On a new bearing cage tightening-it just to 50 ft-lb it felt that is stretching to much (possible the old nut stretched?). I tightened the rest of 3 nuts to only 40 ft-lb. My torque wrench it is in spec.
    The Frontier documentation is asking only 41 ft-lb, Titan spec is 87 ft-lb .
    Any thoughts?

    Know its been a spell since you did this video, but with no fluid coming out, did you check and fill fluid from differential after this work to lubricate the axle/bearings?

    • @Outdoors4adventure
      @Outdoors4adventure  2 года назад

      I did drain and refill with new fluid.

    • @jeybailey6657
      @jeybailey6657 2 года назад

      @@Outdoors4adventure Thanks, do you recall if it was notably low when you drained? Also, if I'm doing a differential swap, can I simply slide out the axle and slide back in without changing the wheel seal if I have no currentproblems with the bearing or seal, or is that a requirement each time you pull the axle from the housing?

      Replace the end plates that hold the axle in. Would be my first thought. I just read zero in and out and most likely the end plates are the issue. They get bowed out I guess.

    • @Outdoors4adventure
      @Outdoors4adventure  4 года назад +1

      No telling how long I ran mine with 1/16 of movement. No leaks and no bearing damage when I replaced them.

    • @LizardBikes

      I would have replaced the backing plates with the 4 studs. If I would have known they get bowed out. Or pounded the backing plates flatter. Or they do have whole new axles with bearings and everything. But they seem to be getting more and more expensive. I think the vent mod helps the new seal not leak.

    How much torque is that back bolt

      Not sure which bolt your referring to. I would do a Google search.
