    Hi there, so whats this rear connection actually for, and how did you know where to take it to? I cannot believe there would be no instructions!! How bad is that?

    Hey there. What spec head unit did you buy? The seems to be quite a price difference between different RAM/ROM specs. Is your spec okay?
    And: I heard that the upgraded jag audio systems need an extra additional amp because of som compatibility issue.. you familiar with that?

    how wire routing to trunk?

    This step is only necessary if you the "upgraded" audio or CD changer. But if your car has standard base 8 speaker audio (door speakers only); then this step is unnecessary? Also what if you have factory Nav; did you do anything to it?

      All the factory NAV and CD or DVD is disconnected from the radio. They're not compatible.

      Hello Peter, I have the standard 8 speaker system but the car does have the cd stacker in the boot, I don't intend using the stacker but does anything still need to be attached through that stacker, basically I don't want to mess about removing the rear seat if it's not necessary, Thankyou

      @@setter501 Nope. Just work on the center console and enjoy. feel free to further contact me if you need help. I don't think the CD changer works with this unit anyway. Besides buy any gen 3 USB stick and fill with all your music MP3s.

    Thanks. Why didn't you consider running it from under the front footwell through the door sill tunnel then to the back seat?

    • @dadsbadideas8166
      @dadsbadideas8166  3 года назад

      It was the closest route and you need to run it through the opening behind the seat. The center carpet is a bit of a pain but not too bad, you just need something to hold it up while you route the wires.

    Hello I've bought one of these units and I'm going to have it professionally installed but I can't find an episode 1 or 4 on RUclips? Can you point me in the right direction please?

      Honestly, if you don't have the alpine system. You can easily do it yourself in 3-5 hrs assuming you have a torx kit. The center console only has 4 screws and 2 clips holding it in. The radio unit is another 4 easily accessible torx screws. There are other videos on how to do this including one by someone with an XJR. Now if your XJ is a VDP then I will send it to a pro.
