That was exactly what I was looking for: How to remove that side-upholstery. Really tricky. And advise: If you have a frequent issue opening your boot, simply move one of those latches/lever-knobs from the boot into the car, where they could protrude out from the side of the rear seat back-piece. Relocating this lever is real easy - simply off and then squeeze it in at the side of the back-piece... No tools required.
Brilliant - there was me trying to wrestle out the seats and now I can just pop the cable in boot and get the damn seats out. Great info on the clips and retainers. Thanks my friend keep making your video's us non techies need you. Regards ^ respect. Ray
Update you really saved alot of money with this video I just replaced my fuel pump they are around 600 bucks new, thank god I bought a parts car for 650 a couple months ago. I really appreciate this video it save me over 1000 bucks.. thanks man ps you should do more xtype videos..
Great job man, this is sharing and helping each other. But about the fuel pump.. you don't really have to cut and drill. You can take the tank off from underneath, its pretty easy. You have 4 long bolts you have to remove, disconnect the 2 or 3 fuel and ventilation pipes and you got the tank out. That way is much easier to work on it and eventually clean the tank.
Thanks for the video it's very helpful. Gotta take my parcel shelf out to clean it. Would have been better if they'd put a rubber trim between the glass and shelf to stop dirt getting in there huh?
Hi Jeff; I'm anticipating replacing the fuel pump on my 2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 L, V6. I cranks but won't start. I sprayed starter fluid and it started. I cannot seem to find the fuel distribution fuel panel. I see that you were going to do a video on how to cut out an access to the fuel pump, but; I cannot seem to find the video. Your help is appreciated.
Hey. Would it be easier to just cut a hole on where the speakers are supposed to be at? It looks like it will be easier to do that as I have an xtype as well.
@@jefferyk4115 so I tried it. Now I have a hole in my rear deck. I mean it is possible, thank goodness I have a black interior. The only way I see it possible is by putting black foam below the speaker. The wiring is a pain so I'm getting a new amp. The cover for the woofer does not fit in the deck because of the window. So I do not recommend doing it unless you planned ahead. I did not so I was "driving blind". Hopefully I can fulfill the deck speakers.
I have a 2004 jaguar X-Type but I can't find any wire any where I took the hole back apart and nothing I seen in other jaguar X-Type their are tow different types of speakers and I have both but can't hook them I need help please..
Dear, Jeffery! Help me please, I have got a problem on my Jaguar X-type. I got an awfull noise from rear seats area. It sounds like it is metal clip scratch a metal hole for a clip... I already removed half of my car, but still didn't find what is it... I already know that it is not a doorstep cover that got metal clip... Anyways, when someone sit on my backsits noise is gone... I removed back sit too, but noise stays... Also I have an idea that it is a parking brake cable, but I am not sure cos noise is too loud... It must be something under back seat, on the right. Thank You in advance.
how much faster is an X-Type when seats are removed? I mean top speed is limited regardless, but does it accelerate any faster? like noticably at all? like a second even?

No, you have to remove the exhaust, rear end and then the tank.
That must be the 2.5 and 3.0. In my case (2.1 V6) its not needed. All you have to do is undo the bolts, disconnect pipes and that's it.
Greetings
Those speakers in the rear deck ?? I only have door rear speakers speakers.. mine is a base model as well.
Good work/video 👍🏻

+Edward Richardson Sorry I did not make the video as things just got very busy for me at the time.
great video, a lot of input here :) - one question, when you looked inside, is there any cable/wiring already placed for subwoofer? BR
Nope
Excellent well detailed video, thank you 😊

I guess you could do that and then put a cover of some kind over the hole. Speaker cover, cloth, etc.
@@jefferyk4115 I am going to try it. I will message back to you if it works. If you want to know message me.
